Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for separating freshly extruded strands from multi-skin sheets, in which supporting air is introduced into the cavities of the strand, which has a heatable knife as a separating element, the knife being held and adjustable in a slide that can be moved in a guide is.
  • Multi-wall sheets consist of two or more cover surfaces spaced parallel to one another and possibly intermediate surfaces and in each case parallel webs connecting the surfaces to one another. Such multi-wall sheets can be produced economically in the extrusion process.
  • the invention offers a solution to this problem.
  • the supporting air can also be discharged undisturbed when the web plates are separated.
  • the device according to the invention is characterized in that the area of the area of the knife penetrating into the multi-wall sheet to be cut is smaller in the cutting direction than the area circumscribed by the edge areas of a cavity.
  • the free end of the knife is inclined. preferably at an angle of 40-50 ° to the cutting edge.
  • the knife can be made relatively wide, as a result of which the knife is correspondingly stable.
  • the bevelled free end of the knife which generally only penetrates the strand to be cut with its free end area, ensures that only a part of each cavity is covered by the knife during cutting, which means that the supporting air also during cutting of the strand can flow out.
  • the angle of 40-50 ° between the free end of the knife and its cutting edge represents a favorable compromise between a narrow design of the area of the knife penetrating into the strand to be cut and its stability.
  • At least one end of the movement path of the knife has a heatable chamber into which the knife can be inserted.
  • This solution is particularly suitable for making cuts with rather shorter cut lengths, between which only relatively short breaks remain. This results in a particularly simple construction of the knife, which can be solid and therefore a high degree of stability can be achieved.
  • the knife for heating can be accommodated in a circuit, a controller controlling the circuit being provided.
  • the controller is influenced by a sensor for detecting the length of the extruded strand in order to determine the interface.
  • the granulate passes from the storage container 1 into a dryer 2 and from there to an extruder 3, where it is plasticized.
  • the plasticized mass exits through an extrusion die 4 which corresponds to the shape of the multi-wall sheet to be produced.
  • This extrusion nozzle 4 is supplied with air via a line 5, which is blown into the cavities of the multi-wall sheet and supports the two webs of each individual cavity and prevents the two webs from collapsing.
  • This extruded strand is brought to the intended size in the calibrator 6 in a known manner and is brought to a continuous furnace 8 and further to a laminating station 9 by means of conveyor rollers 7.
  • the extruded strand 12 then arrives at the cutting device 10, after which the separated parts or plates are transported away by means of a conveyor belt 11.
  • the cutting device 10 consists of a guide 13 on which a carriage 14 can be moved.
  • the carriage is driven by means of a chain drive 15, to which the carriage 14 is connected and which is connected to a motor 30.
  • a support plate 16 is held adjustable and lockable.
  • the knife 17 is fastened on this support plate 16.
  • the guide 13 and the chain drive 15, 30 are held in a support 33, which is height-adjustable on a slide 32 by means of a stamp 31, which slide 32 on guides 34 in Longitudinal direction of the table 22 and thus the strand 12 can be moved.
  • This carriage 32 carries a motor 36 driving a pinion 35 which meshes with a toothed rack 37, as a result of which the carriage 32 can be driven reversibly.
  • the carriage 32 When cutting, the carriage 32 is moved transversely to the strand at the speed of the strand 12 in the feed direction thereof during the movement of the knife 17.
  • the bar 39 is lowered in the direction of the arrow 40 onto the strand 12 in order to prevent the strand from being lifted off the table 22.
  • the support 33 and thus the knife 17 are lowered below the upper edge of the table 22 and the carriage 32 is moved back to the starting point against the direction of advance of the strand.
  • the support 33 is raised again and the carriage 14 is moved transversely to the strand 12 by means of the chain drive 15 with simultaneous movement of the carriage 32 in the direction of advance of the strand 12.
  • the dimension of the slot 38 in the table 22 is dimensioned such that its width exceeds the feed of the strand during a cut.
  • the knife 17 is chamfered at its free end and has a slot 18.
  • the legs 19 of the knife 17 separated by this slot 18 are connected to a circuit which provides for the heating of the knife, this circuit being controlled by a controller (not shown).
  • the power supply to the knife 17 takes place via a cable 20 which is pulled out of a winding device 21 and wound up again by the latter, the cable being held under tension.
  • the free end region of the knife 17 projects through the slot 38 in the table 22 on which guides 23 for the strand 12 are arranged. The knife only cuts the strand 12 with its outermost end region.
  • the knife 17 covers an area which is substantially smaller than the cross section of the individual cavities 24 of the strand 12 or its area in the cutting plane, so that the supporting air can also escape from the cavities during the cut. However, this avoids an increase in pressure in the cavities 24 during the cut and thus also prevents the cavities in the area of the calibrator 6 from inflating.
  • the slot 18 formed in the knife 17 can be raised so far in the direction of the cutting edge that it reaches almost to the underside of the web plate to be cut. This has the advantage that optimal heating of the cutting edge is ensured over its entire length. In order to ensure that the supporting air exits safely with a relatively small cross-sectional width of the individual cavities 24 of a strand, the slot 18 can also be drawn up over the support edge in the direction of the cutting edge, so that when cutting supporting air from the narrow channels, which are otherwise covered by the knife width could emerge from the individual cavities 24.
  • the regulator of the circuit for heating the knife expediently works in such a way that the knife 17 is kept at the required cutting temperature of approx. 200 ° to 300 ° C. (for polycarbonate) by the passage of current, the current during each cut due to the increased Heat dissipation is increased.
