Definitions

  • the invention relates to a rotating anode X-ray tube with a magnetically contact-free anode and means for contactless dissipation of the anode current.
  • a rotating anode X-ray tube of this type is e.g. described in DE-OS 30 43 670.
  • the anode is supported by means of a contactless magnetic and axial magnetic bearing. Since the anode is thus kept in suspension during operation, the problem of dissipating the anode current arises.
  • the anode current is accordingly dissipated via an auxiliary diode which is arranged on the anode side, i.e. contactless.
  • the effort for this is great because of the required auxiliary cathode and anode.
  • the invention has for its object to design an X-ray tube of the type mentioned in such a way that contactless discharge of the anode current is ensured at a reduced cost compared to the prior art.
  • a rotating with the anode, cylindrical part is provided on its surface with circumferential ribs, the corresponding ribs on a fixed part in the X-ray tube housing opposite, such that a current transfer takes place by spray discharge.
  • the anode also hovers in a magnetic field.
  • the current transfer from the anode to the anode connection takes place by spray discharge, in that a sufficiently large area, which is electrically connected to the anode, and a surface opposite it, which is designed in such a way that spray discharge can easily occur, are provided.
  • the ribs on the rotating and the fixed part can be based on the principle of a thread with a suitable coating, e.g. made of tungsten.
  • 1 denotes the glass housing of an X-ray tube, in which a rotating anode 2 rotates, which has an anode plate 3, which is fastened on an axis 4 and to which a cathode 5 is assigned in a known manner, which is used to generate the X-rays Electron current delivers.
  • the axis 4 is connected to a rotor 6, which drives the anode 2 and allows magnetic storage. This means that the anode 2 is magnetically levitated during its rotation.
  • a stationary magnetic winding 7 is provided, which surrounds the neck 8 of the glass housing 1.
  • a drive winding 8a is provided for driving the rotating anode 2.
  • the anode 2 has no mechanical contact with fixed parts during its rotation. So that the anode current can be transmitted without contact, the rotor 6 is designed as a hollow cylinder which is provided on its inner surface with ribs 9. The ribs 9 lie opposite ribs 10 on a fixed cylinder 11 which is connected to the anode connection 12.
  • the cylinder 11 carries two ball bearings 13, which are at a distance from the inner surface of the rotor 6 during the rotation of the anode 2, but support the rotor 2 when it is at a standstill.
