Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a tub washing machine made of synthetic material.
  • a known washing machine often comprises either a tub made of metal sheet or a tub made of synthetic material.
  • a molded plastic tank must not only perform the usual functions of a sheet metal tank but also meet the requirements of molding manufacturing.
  • a molded plastic tank is economical when demolding is easy.
  • the detergent products introduced do not often participate, in their entirety, in washing the laundry because a portion of these has fallen directly into a liquid collection cavity or sump in the bottom of the tank, in communication with a drain pump, thus protects itself from any movement of washing liquid created by the rotating laundry drum and is then evacuated, undissolved and in pure loss, to the outside during a emptying of the machine tank.
  • a known solution consists in separating this cavity from the inlet space of the drain pump either by a baffle or by a threshold opening, intended to hinder the passage into the inlet space of the drain pump, detergents trapped in this sump.
  • This solution only delays the entry of these products into the drain pump, but does not bring a better dissolution of them and does not effectively prevent their loss during a drain.
  • the aim of the present invention is to avoid these drawbacks and makes it possible to produce a tank washing machine made of economical synthetic material in which the loss of undissolved detergents is almost nonexistent.
  • a washing machine with horizontal drum and molded plastic tank formed of a bowl-shaped body having a tubular wall in which there is a transverse hollow horizontal, and of a flat tight cover is characterized in that, on the one hand, the flat hollow extends orthogonally to the axis of this tubular wall and extends to the edge of the opening of this bowl-shaped body, the width of the recess being less than that of the tubular wall, this recess serving as a housing for an electric heating resistor, and on the other hand, an access opening for water and detergents formed in the area upper lateral side of the tubular wall and positioned in such a way over the width of this wall that the detergents do not enter the flat recess.
  • a washing machine 1 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, illustrated schematically and partially in Figures 1 to 3, comprises a body 2, a tank molded or injected in synthetic material 3, suspended or placed in this body by suspension devices such as tension springs 4 or shock-absorbing elastic feet, not shown, a horizontal laundry drum 5 made of sheet metal, driven in rotation by a motor 6, and a drain pump 7.
  • An introduction of laundry into the tank 3 is made from above through an opening 8, surrounded by a cuff 9 and closed by a door 10 of the machine.
  • the molded tank 3 comprises a molded body 11 having the general shape of a bowl and a molded flat cover 12.
  • the molded body 11 comprises a tubular side wall 13 closed at one end by a flange integrating vertical 14 and open at the other end. This end or opening of the body 11 is closed by the cover 12 which constitutes a second vertical attached flange parallel to the first vertical integrating flange 14 of the tank.
  • the parallel flanges 12 and 14 are respectively provided with bearings 15, 16 which support in rotation the two ends of the horizontal shaft of the horizontal laundry drum.
  • the body 11 comprises in the upper zone of its tubular side wall 13, independently of its inlet opening for laundry 8, an access opening 18 for water and detergents.
  • the body 11 of the molded or injected tank having the shape of a bowl 3 comprises on the one hand a deep uniform circular enclosure 19 and a narrow and long flat hollow 20 extending orthogonally to the axis 17 of this circular enclosure 19 and extending the latter axially to the rim 27 of its opening, intended for a housing of an electric heating resistor 34 and on the other hand an access opening 18 for water and detergents, located vertical to this circular enclosure 19.
  • the molded body 11 of the tank 3 comprises in the upper and lower zones of its tubular side wall 13, a deep uniform circular enclosure 19 occupying at least two thirds of the width of this side wall 13 from the vertical flange 14 and a flat recess 20 formed by a slight horizontal depression, tangential to this circular enclosure 19 and occupying the remaining part of the width of this tubular side wall 13 and a length equivalent to at least one fifth of the outline of the circular enclosure 19.
  • the access opening 18 for water and detergents is formed in the upper region of the tubular side wall 13 of the body 11 and in an interior half of the depth of this uniform circular enclosure 19, that is to say say half of it which is near the flange integrating vertical 14 of the body 11 of the tank 3.
  • Such a position of the access opening 18 with respect to the uniform circular enclosure 19 allows the detergents introduced into the tank 3 to fall exclusively in the area occupied by this uniform circular enclosure 19 and to be subjected fully to the movement of the water indicated at F created by the rotating laundry drum 5, and to be rapidly dissolved.
  • the great depth of the uniform circular enclosure 19 effectively prevents detergents introduced into the tank 3, and not yet dissolved, from entering the flat hollow 20 which is intended to receive an electric heating resistor 34 mounted leaktight through an opening 21 formed in the side wall 13 and also to serve as a liquid collection hollow in the bottom of the tank 3.
  • the shallow depth and the long length of the flat hollow 20 extending in the two directions of rotation of the laundry drum 5 favor the influence of the movement F of the water created by the washing drum 5 in rotation down to the smallest recesses of this flat recess 20.
  • the detergents even if they are trapped in this flat recess 20 are rapidly dissolved and the loss of detergents introduced into the tank 3 is zero or insignificant.
  • the body 11 comprises (FIGS. 2 and 3) in the lower zone of its tubular side wall 13, between the vertical integrating flange 14 and the long flat hollow 20, axially parallel to the circular enclosure 19 and below the latter, that is to say separated from this circular enclosure 19, a tubular recess 22 serving as an integral connection pipe, through a common opening 23 or two separate openings not shown, between on the one hand the flat recess 20 or liquid collection recess, and on the other hand a compression chamber 24 of a device water level control not shown and / or an inlet pipe 25 of the drain pump 7.
  • the integral connecting pipe 22 being perpendicular to the movement F of the water created by the rotating drum 5 and thus being isolated from the circular enclosure 19, protects the compression chamber 24 of the water level control device against any disturbing fluctuations in the water generated by this movement F which distort the water level in the tank 3 and which risk causing untimely admission of cold water into the tank 3 during the heating of the washing water.
  • a connecting pipe 22 formed integrally in the tank 3 is also economical compared to a removable connecting pipe between a liquid collection recess and a drain pump in a known washing machine.
  • the body 11 of the tank 3 of the washing machine 1 comprises in the lower region of its tubular side wall 13, firstly, below and separated from the circular enclosure 19 and axially parallel thereto, a tubular recess 38 which, at one of its ends opens to the long flat hollow 20, and at the other end, ends at a level 39 set back from the flange integrating vertical 14 and communicates with the outside in its lowest part by a lateral outlet pipe 40: secondly parallel to the flange integrating vertical 14, a compression chamber 41 of a water level control device not shown , provided with an open tubular lower end 42 and a closed upper end 43 and provided with a tube 44 intended to facilitate a connection with this water level control device: and thirdly, at the d below the level of the tubular recess 38, a removable Y-shaped pipe 45 connecting on the one hand, by its two branches 46, 47 the lateral tubing 40 of the tubular recess 38 and the open tubular lower end 42 of the compression chamber 41, and by its body 48
  • the communication between the tubular recess 38 of the lower part of the tank 3 and the open tubular lower end 42 of the compression chamber takes place below the level of the tank 3 through the pipe. at the connecting Y 45.
  • the connecting Y pipe 45 is first filled with water which closes the lower end 42 of the compression chamber 41, which already initiates compression of the air trapped in this compression chamber 41 before the water level rises in the tank 3 through the lateral tube 40 of the tubular recess 38, and thus advantageously allows even detect a very low level of water in the tank 3.
  • the compression of the air trapped in the compression chamber 24 is practically initiated only when the water level in the tank 3 is raised dess us of the level of the common opening 23.
  • the body 11 of the tank 3 of the washing machine 1 comprises in the lower region of its tubular side wall 13, firstly, below and separated from the circular enclosure 19 and axially parallel thereto, a tubular recess 50 which, at one of its ends opens to the long flat hollow 20, and at the other end, ends at a level 51 set back from the flange integrating vertical 14 and communicates with the outside via a lateral outlet pipe 52; secondly, parallel to the vertical integrating flange 14, a compression chamber 53 of a water level control device not shown, provided with an open tubular lower end 54 paired with the lateral outlet pipe 52 of the recess tubular 50 to form a common tube projecting outwardly 58, and an upper end 55 closed and provided with a connecting tube 56 intended to facilitate connection with this water level control device; and thirdly, below the level of the tubular recess 50 a pipe of connection 57 connecting an inlet manifold 49 of the drain pump 7 and the common manifold 58 of twinning the open
  • connection pipe 57 is first filled with water which closes the lower end 54 of the compression chamber 53, which already initiates compression of the trapped air in this chamber 41 before the water level rises in the tank 3 through the lateral tube 52 of the tubular recess 50 and thus advantageously makes it possible to detect, as in the first alternative embodiment (FIG. 4), even a level very little water in the tank 3.
  • the body 11 of the tank 3 comprises, along a projecting rim 27 of its opening, a groove 28 intended to receive a seal 29 for the waterproof cover 12.
  • the flat recess 20 which serves as a housing for an electric heating resistor 34 and as a liquid collection recess, forms a descending slope towards the integral connecting pipe 22.
  • This downward slope facilitates a flow of the liquid towards the connecting pipe 22 and its evacuation by the drain pump 7.
  • the molded body 11 of the tank 3 is provided with a relief which facilitates its release from the mold during its manufacture.
  • the washing machine 1 comprises suspension devices such as suspension springs 4 or elastic shock-absorbing feet, not shown, which suspend the tank 3 in the bodywork 2 in an inclined position, in a descending direction towards the vertical flange 14 of the body 11 of this tank 3, equivalent to less to the release mold formed in this body 11 of this tank 3.
  • suspension devices such as suspension springs 4 or elastic shock-absorbing feet, not shown, which suspend the tank 3 in the bodywork 2 in an inclined position, in a descending direction towards the vertical flange 14 of the body 11 of this tank 3, equivalent to less to the release mold formed in this body 11 of this tank 3.
  • the mounting points 30 for the suspension devices of the tank 3 are usually located at a certain distance from the walls of this tank in order to avoid any annoying contact of these with these suspension devices.
  • these mounting points 30 are carried by long legs which are made integral with their tank.
  • short lugs, 31, 32, 33 for supporting these mounting points 30 of the suspension devices such as the springs 4 are formed on the projecting parts of this tank 3.
  • the tab 31 is in fact formed directly on the wall of the compression chamber 24 projecting outwards while the tabs 32, 33 are formed on projecting edges 27 of the opening of the body 11 of the tank 3.
  • This embodiment of short legs 31, 32, 33 instead of long legs usually found in known washing machines, allows an appreciable saving of raw material and thus lowering the cost price of the washing machine 1 , without compromising the desired result.
  • retention ribs 35 for detergents are formed in the lateral surface of the circular enclosure 19 and below the access opening 18 for water and detergents. These grooves 35 retain the detergents introduced into the tank 3 and subject them to the movement F of water to facilitate their dissolution.
  • a simple and free structure of the body 11 and the flat cover 12 of the molded tank 3 described above facilitates demolding of these and allows them to be manufactured with simple tools requiring relatively easy maintenance and allowing high production rates.
  • the cost price of the washing machine equipped with a tank 3 thus designed and manufactured, is advantageously economical.
