According to the assignment in FIG as well as at the measurement spot 14, 15, whereas the measurement spots 11, 12 and 13 will generate maximum density values and a density value between the measurement spot 10 will be measured.
- two maximum values are selected by comparing in a comparator circuit 16 and added up in an evaluation circuit 17 and output to a display 18.
- a signal for stopping the drive 19 of the density measuring head 2 or for indicating 20 an incorrect measurement can also be output. The latter occurs when a high density value is already determined at an edge measurement spot 8, 15.
- FIG. 4 shows transducers 7 arranged next to one another in a density measuring head 2 with corresponding light sources 24.
