Diese Farbentwicklungsblätter weisen eine überlegene Farbentwicklungsrate und eine verbesserte Endfarbent­wicklungsintensität auf.

Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft ein Farbentwicklungsblatt und Farbentwicklungsmittel, bei denen die Nachteile, die ein mehrwertiges Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure als Farbentwicklungsmittel noch hat, beseitigt sind.
  • Druckempfindliche Aufzeichnungsblätter sind als kohle­papierfreie Kopierpapiere bekannt. Sie ergeben bei der Anwendung von mechanischem Druck oder Schlagdruck beim Schreiben oder Anschlagen einer Schreibmaschine einen farbigen Abdruck und erlauben so die gleichzeitige Anfertigung mehrerer Kopien. Dabei wird ein gefärbtes Bild aufgrund der Farbentwicklungsreaktion zwischen einem elektronenabgebenden farblosen Farbstoff und einem elektronenakzeptierenden Farbentwicklungsmittel gebildet.
  • Bisher sind viele elektronenakzeptierende Farbentwick­lungsmittel bekannt. Typische Farbentwicklungsmittel sind anorganische feste Säuren, wie aktivierter Ton, Attapulgit usw. (in USP 2712507 beschrieben); substituierte Phenole und Diphenole (in der japani­schen Patentpublikation 9309/1965 beschrieben); p-subst.-Phenol-Formaldehydpolymere (in der japanischen Patentpublikation 20144/1967 beschrieben); Metallsalze aromatischer Carbonsäuren (in den japanischen Patent­publikationen 10856/1974 und 1327/1977 usw. beschrie­ben); 2,2ʹ-bis-Phenolsulfonverbindungen (in JP-OS 10 6313/1979 usw. beschrieben).
  • Von diesen Farbentwicklungsmitteln werden mehrwertige Metallsalze einer aromatischen Carbonsäure wie 3,5-Di(α-­methylbenzyl)Salicylsäurezinksalz üblicherweise verwen­det, weil sie ein Farbentwicklungsblatt mit überlegener Beständigkeit des gefärbten Bildes gegenüber Einwirkun­gen von Licht, Feuchtigkeit, Hitze und Weichmacher er­geben.
  • Das ein mehrwertiges Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure enthaltende Farbentwicklungsblatt hat die Nachteile, daß die Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit und Endfarbentwicklungsintensität nicht zufriedenstellend sind.
  • Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Farbent­wicklungsmittel für druckempfindliche Aufzeichnungsblätter zu schaffen, das weitgehend frei ist von den obigen Nachtei­len, d.h. eine überlegene Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit und eine verbesserte Intensität der endgültigen Farbent­wicklung ("Endfarbentwicklungsintensität") hat.
  • Die Erfinder haben nach vielen Untersuchungen überraschen­derweise gefunden, daß mehrwertige Metallsalze einer aroma­tischen Carbonsäure in Kombination mit einem mehrwertigen Metallsalz eines carboxylierten Terpenphenolharzes und/oder einem Reaktionsprodukt von einem carboxylierten Terpenphenol­harz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer Verbindung eines mehrwertigen Metalls eine überlegene Farbentwicklungs­geschwindigkeit und eine verbesserte Endfarbentwicklungsin­tensität ergeben, und daß die große Echtheit als Vorteil der Verwendung eines mehrwertigen Metallsalzes der aromati­schen Carbonsäure erhalten bleibt.
  • Die Metallsalze aromatischer Carbonsäuren, die in dieser Erfindung verwendet werden, sind diejenigen, die in den japanischen Patentpublikationen 10856/1974 und 1327/1977 beschrieben sind.
  • Typische Beispiele derartiger aromatischer Carbonsäu­ren sind: Benzoesäure, p-Hydroxybenzoesäure, Chlor­benzoesäure, Brombenzoesäure, Nitrobenzoesäure, Methoxybenzoesäure, Äthoxybenzoesäure, Toluylsäure, Äthylbenzoesäure, p-n-Propylbenzoesäure, p-Isopropyl­benzoesäure, 3-Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoesäure, 3-Äthyl-4-­hydroxybenzoesäure, 3-Methoxy-4-hydroxybenzoesäure, p-tert.-Butylbenzoesäure, o-Benzoylbenzoesäure, p-Cyclohexylbenzoesäure, Salicylsäure, 3-Methyl-5-­tert.-butylsalicylsäure, 3,5-Ditertiär-butylsalicyl­säure, 5-Nonylsalicylsäure, 5-Cyclohexylsalicylsäure, 3-Cyclohexysalicylsäure, 3,5-Diamylsalicylsäure, Kresotinsäure, 5-Nonylsalicylsäure, 5-Cumylsalicyl­säure, 3-Phenylsalicylsäure, 3,5-sek.-Butylsalicyl­säure, 2,4-Dihydroxybenzoesäure, 2,5-Dihydroxy­benzoesäure, Gallussäure, Naphthoesäure, Phthalsäure­monobenzylester, Phthalsäuremonocyclohexylester, Salicylosalicylsäure, 3-tert.-Butyl-5-α-methylbenzyl­salicylsäure, 3,5-Di(α-methylbenzyl)salicylsäure, Phthalsäure, Terephthalsäure, Isophthalsäure, Diphensäure, Naphthalindicarbonsäure, Naphthalsäure, und so weiter.
  • Von diesen Carbonsäuren sind Monocarbonsäuren bevorzugt. Typische Beispiele für die mehrwertigen Metalle der Metallsalze der aromatischen Carbonsäuren sind Magne­sium, Aluminium, Cadmium, Calcium, Titanium, Zink, Nickel. Kobalt, Mangan, Vanadium usw.; Magnesium, Alu­minium und Zink sind bevorzugt; Zink ist am stärksten bevorzugt.
  • Das erfindungsgemäße mehrwertige Metallsalz eines carboxylierten Terpenphenolharzes und das erfindungs­gemäße Reaktionsprodukt von einem carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer Verbindung eines mehrwertigen Metalls sind neue Farbentwicklungsmittel. Sie weisen eine bessere Vergil­bungsbeständigkeit in Abhängigkeit von der Zeit und eine überlegene Weichmacherbeständigkeit auf. Cas carboxylier­te Terpenphenolharz wird, wie in der japanischen Patent­anmeldung Nr. 159540/1985 beschrieben, nach folgendem Verfahren hergestellt.
  • Die Additionsreaktion von zyklischem Monoterpen und Phenol wird in einem geeigneten Lösungsmittel, z.B. einem Erdölprodukt, in Gegenwart von einem sauren Katalysator, beispielsweise Aluminium-Trichlorid, Bortrifluorid, Schwefelsäure, Polyphosphorsäure usw. durchgeführt, wobei man ein Kondensationsprodukt erhält. Typische Beispiele für das zyklische Monoterpen sind Pinen, Limonen, Terpinolen, Menthadien, Gummi-Terpentinöl, das als Hauptbestandteil α-Pinen enthält, Dipenten, das als Hauptbestandteil α-Limonen enthält, und so weiter. Typische Beispiel für das Phenol sind Monophenole, beispielsweise Carbolsäure, Alkylphenol, Alkoxyphenol, halogeniertes Phenol usw.; und mehrwertige Phenole, beispielsweise Resorcin, Brenzcatechin usw. Typische Beispiele für geeignete Lösungsmittel sind Benzol, Toluol, Xylole, n-Hexan, n-Heptan, halogenierte Lösungs­mittel, beispielsweise Dichlormethan, Chloroform, Trichlormethan, Brombenzol und dergleichen. Das Konden­sationsprodukt wird durch Zugabe von Alkalimetall, Alkalimetallhydroxid oder -carbonat alkalisch gemacht und wird unter Einleitung von Kohlendioxidgas bei 140-180 °C und 5-30 atm. in einem Autoklav behan­delt (Kolbe-Schmitt-Reaktion), wobei die Carboxygruppe in das Kondensationsprodukt eingeführt wird.
  • Nach der Reaktion wird das Lösungsmittel durch Destil­ lation entfernt. Nach dem Abkühlen auf Raumtempe­ratur wird das Produkt ausgewaschen, um das nicht umgesetzte Verbindungen zu beseitigen.Weiter wird das Produkt mit einer verdünnten basischen wäßrigen Lösung extrahiert und dann neutralisiert, wobei das carbo­xylierte Terpenphenolharz ausgeschieden wird. Das erhaltene Harz wird abfiltriert und ausgewaschen, um das gereinigte carboxylierte Terpenphenolharz zu gewinnen. Das mehrwertige Metallsalz eines carboxylierten Terpen­phenolharzes wird hergestellt, indem man ein carbo­xyliertes Terpenphenolharz mit einem mehrwer­tigen Metalloxid, -hydroxid, -chlorid, -carbonat, -sulfat oder dergleichen in Gegenwart von einem anorga­nischen Ammoniumsalz unter Schmelzen umsetzt, oder ein carboxyliertes Terpenphenolharz mit Alkalimetall­hydroxid in einem Lösungsmittel, wie Wasser, Alkohol usw., löst, ein mehrwertiges Metallsalz dazugibt und damit umsetzt, oder dergleichen.
  • Beispiele für die mehrwertigen Metalle sind Magnesium, Aluminium, Calcium, Cadmium, Titan, Zink, Nickel, Kobalt, Mangan usw.; Magnesium, Aluminium und Zink sind bevorzugt. Zink ist am stärksten bevorzugt.
  • Das Reaktionsprodukt zwischen dem obigen carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz, der aromatischen Carbonsäure und der Verbindung des mehrwertigen Metalls wird hergestellt, indem man das carboxylierte Terpenphenolharz, die aromatische Carbonsäure und die Verbindung des mehr­wertigen Metalls gleichmäßig vermischt und dann mit­einander reagieren läßt, oder man zwei von den drei obigen Bestandteilen vermischt und dann mit einem anderen Bestandteil reagieren läßt.
  • Die gleichmäßige Vermischung wird erreicht, indem man diese Bestandteile unter Umrühren in einem Lösungsmittel löst, oder unter Erhitzen schmilzt, oder andere Verfahren anwendet. Typische Beispiele für Lösungsmittel sind alka­lische wässerige Lösungen, beispielsweise Natriumhy­droxid, Kaliumhydroxid, Natriumcarbonat usw.; und organische Lösungsmittel, beispielsweise Alkohol, Aceton usw.; und das Gemisch davon.
  • Als aromatische Carbonsäure (monozyklisch oder poly­zyklisch) verwendet man eine solche, bei der die Carboxy­gruppe direkt an den Ring gebunden ist. Typische Beispiele für die aromatische Carbonsäure sind: Benzoesäure, p-Hydroxybenzoesäure, Chlorbenzoesäure, Brombenzoe­säure, Nitrobenzoesäure, Methoxybenzoesäure, Äthoxy­ benzoesäure, Toluylsäure, Äthylbenzoesäure, p-n-Pro­pylbenzoesäure, p-Isopropylbenzoesäure, 3-Methyl-4-­hydroxybenzoesäure, 3-Äthyl-4-hydroxybenzoesäure, 3-Methoxy-4-Hydroxybenzoesäure, p-tert.-Butylbenzoe­säure, o-Benzoylbenzoesäure, p-Cyclohexylbenzoesäure, Salicylsäure, 3-Methyl-5-tert.-Butylsalicylsäure, 3,5-­Ditertiär-Butylsalicylsäure, 5-Nonylsalicylsäure, 5-Cyclohexylsalicylsäure, 3-Cyclohexylsalicylsäure, 3,5-Diamylsalicylsäure, Kresotinsäure, 5-Nonylsalicyl­säure, 5-Cumylsalicylsäure, 3-Phenylsalicylsäure, 3,5-­sek.-Butylsalicylsäure, 2,4-Dihydroxybenzoesäure, 2,5-­Dihydroxybenzoesäure, Gallussäure, Naphthoesäure, Phthalsäuremonobenzylester, Phthalsäuremonocyclo­hexylester, Salicylosalicylsäure, 3-tert.-Butyl-5-α-­methylbenzylsalicylsäure, 3,5-Di(α-methylbenzyl)sali­cylsäure, Phthalsäure, Terephthalsäure, Isophthal­säure, Diphensäure, Naphthalindicarbonsäure, Naphthal­säure, und so weiter.
  • Von diesen Carbonsäuren sind die Monocarbonsäuren bevorzugt. Typische Beispiele für geeignete mehrwertige Metallverbin­dungen sind Oxide, Halogenide, Carbonate, Sulfate, Nitrate, Azetate, Formate, Oxalate, Benzoate, Acetylacetonsalze und Salicylate von Magnesium, Aluminium, Cadmium, Calcium, Titan, Zink, Nickel, Kobalt, Mangan, Vanadium usw.; Magnesium-, Aluminium- und Zinkverbin­dungen sind bevorzugt; Zinkverbindungen sind am stärksten bevorzugt.
  • Die Menge des mehrwertigen Metallsalzes eines Terpenphenol­harzes und/oder des Reaktionsprodukts von einem carboxy­lierten Terpenphenolharz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer Verbindung eines mehrwertigen Metalls, bezogen auf das Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure, ist nicht besonders beschränkt und beträgt vorzugsweise wenigstens 1 Gewicht-%, stärker vorzugsweise wenigstens 30 Gewicht-%.
  • Eine Streichmasse für Farbentwicklungsmittel wird wie folgt hergestellt:
    • (1) Jedes der Farbentwicklungsmittel wird mit einem Dispergiermittel zusammengemischt und dispergiert, dann gibt man einen Füller, Bindemittel usw. zu den gemischten Farbentwicklungsmitteln;
    • (2) Farbentwicklungsmittel werden zusammen mit einem Dispergiermittel dispergiert und Füller, Binde­mittel usw. werden zu den dispergierten Farbent­wicklungsmitteln gegeben; oder
    • (3) Farbentwicklungsmittel werden gemischt, dann durch Erhitzung oder in einem Lösungsmittel dispergiert, und Füller, Bindemittel usw. werden zu den dispergier­ten Farbentwicklungsmitteln gegeben.
  • Ein Farbentwicklungsblatt wird hergestellt, indem man die oben erhaltene Streichmasse als einfache Schicht auf ein Substrat aufträgt. Man kann aber auch Mehr­schichtenstreichverfahren anwenden, wobei eine ein Farbentwicklungsmittel enthaltende Streichmasse zuerst auf ein Substrat und eine ein anderes Farbentwicklungs­mittel enthaltende Streichmasse dann darauf aufgetra­gen wird, und dergleichen.
  • Die erfindungsgemäßen Farbentwicklungsmittel finden Verwendung auf allen Gebieten, die im Zusammenhang mit druckempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsblättern stehen. Beispiele sind: Druckempfindliche Aufzeichnungsblätter, die z.B. ein mittleres Blatt, unteres Blatt, Einzel-­Aufzeichnungsblatt usw. haben oder bei denen das er­findungsgemäße Farbentwicklungsmittel als Schicht auf das Trägermaterial aufgetragen oder in das Trägermaterial hineingemischt ist; Prüfungsmittel für einen Leukofarb­stoff nach dem Lösen in einem organischen Lösungsmittel; Spot-Druckfarbe in Mischung mit einem Wachs; druck­empfindliche Farbe, bei der das Farbentwicklungsmittel und/oder den Leukofarbstoff enthaltende Mikrokapseln ver­wendet werden.
  • Ein Farbentwicklungsblatt mit einem erfindungsgemäßen Farbentwicklungsmittel, wird nach bekannten Verfahren hergestellt, z.B. durch :
    • (a) Auftragen der wäßrigen Streichmasse auf das Träger­material, wobei eine wäßrige Suspension des Farb­entwicklungsmittels verwendet wird.
    • (b) Zugabe des Farbentwicklungsmittels zu dem Stoff bei der Papierherstellung.
    • (c) Auftragen des in einem Lösungsmittel gelösten oder suspendierten Farbentwicklungsmittels auf das Trägermaterial.
  • Die erfindungsgemäße Streichmasse wird hergestellt, indem man Kaolintonerde, Calciumcarbonat, Behandlungsstärke, Polyvinylalkohol, synthetischen oder natürlichen Latex usw. mischt und der Mischung geeignete Viskosität und Streichfähigkeit verleiht. Es ist vorteilhaft, 10-70 Gew.-% Farbentwicklungsmittel, bezogen auf den Gesamtfeststoff in der Streichmasse, zu verwenden. Mit weniger als 10 Gew.-% Farbentwicklungsmittel ist die Farbentwicklungs­fähigkeit ungenügend, mit mehr als 70 Gew.-% Farbent­wicklungsmittel verschlechtern sich dagegen die Oberflä­cheneigenschaften des Farbentwicklungsblattes.
  • Weiter ist es vorteilhaft, die Farbentwicklungsschicht auf einen Träger in einer Streichmassemenge von mindestens 0,5 g/m², vorzugsweise 1,0-10,0 g/m², aufzutragen.
  • Das erfindungsgemäße Farbentwicklungsmittel ist geeignet für viele bekannte Farbstoffe, die bei druckempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsblättern verwendet werden.
  • Beispiele für typische druckempfindliche Farbstoffe sind:
    Farbstoffe der Triphenylmethanreihe, wie Kristallviolett­lacton, Malachitgrünlacton, 3-Dimethylaminotriphenylmethan­phthalid usw.;
    Farbstoffe der Fluoranreihe, wie 3,6-Dimethoxyfluoran, 3-N-­Cyclohexylamino-6-chlorfluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-6-methyl-7-­chlorfluoran, 1,2-Benzo-6-dimethylaminofluoran, 1,2-Benzo-­(2ʹ-diäthylamino)-6-diäthylamino-fluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-7-­dibenzylamino-fluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-6-methyl-7-dibenzyl­amino-fluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-5-methyl-7-dibenzylamino-fluo­ran, 3-Diäthylamino-7-anilino-fluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-6-­methyl-7-anilino-fluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-7-(o-acethyl)anili­no-fluoran, 3-Diäthylamino-7-piperidino-fluoran, 3-Diäthyl­amino-7-pyrolidino-fluoran usw.;
    Farbstoffe der Spiropyranreihe, wie Spiro (3-methylchromen-­ 2,2ʹ-7ʹ-diäthylaminochromen), Spiro (3-methylchromen-­2,2ʹ-7ʹ-dibenzylaminochromen), 6ʹ,8ʹ-Dichlor-1,3,3-­trimethyl-indolino-benzospiropyran, 1,3,3-Trimethyl-6ʹ-­nitro-spiro(indolin)-2,2ʹ-2ʹH chromen, Spiro (1,3,3-­trimethylindolin-2,3ʹ-8ʹ-bromonaphtho (2,1-b) pyran, Spiro (3-methyl-benzo (5,6-a) chromen-2,2ʹ-7ʹ-­diäthylaminochromen usw.;
    Farbstoffe der Phenothiazinreihe, wie 3-Diäthylamino-7 (N-methylanilino)-10-benzoylphenoxazin, 3,7-Bis-­(dimethylamino)-10-benzoylphenothiazin, 10-(3ʹ, 4ʹ,5ʹ-­Trimethoxy-benzoyl)-3,7-bis-(dimethylamino)-phenothiazin usw.;
    Farbstoffe der Azaphthalidreihe, wie 3-(4-diäthylamino-­2-athoxyphenyl)-3-(1-äthyl-2-methylindol-3-yl)7-azaphthalid usw.;
    Farbstoffe der Indolreihe, wie 3,3-Bis (1-octyl-2-­methylindol-3-yl)phthalid usw.; und
    Farbstoffe der Triphenylmethanreihe, wie N-Butyl-3(bis-­(4-(N-methylanilino)phenyl)methyl) carbazol usw.
  • Die Ursache für sowohl eine überlegene Farbentwicklungs­geschwindigkeit als auch eine verbesserte Endfarbentwicklungs­intensität der erfindungsgemäßen Farbentwicklungsblätter ist unklar. Man vermutet jedoch, daß das mehrwertige Metall­salz des carboxylierten Terpenphenolharzes oder das Reaktions­produkt von einem carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer Verbindung eines mehrwer­tigen Metalls diese Verbesserungen bewirken.
  • (Beispiele)
  • Die Erfindung wird anhand der nachfolgenden Beispiele und Vergleichsbeispiele näher erläutert.
  • Die nachfolgenden Beispiele und Vergleichsbeispiele dienen nur zur Erläuterung der Erfindung, sie sollen sie nicht be­schränken. "Teile" und "Prozent" sind Gewichtsteile und Gewichts-%, solang nichts anderes angegeben ist.
  • Das Herstellungsverfahren eines Übertragungsblattes, bei dem den druckempfindlichen Farbstoff enthaltende Mikrokapseln auf ein Blatt feines Papier aufgetragen wurden, und die Bewertungsmethode des Farbentwicklungsblatts unter Ver­wendung des Übertragungsblattes sind wie folgt.
  • Herstellung eines Übertragungsblattes
  • 90 Teile Verdünnungswasser wurden mit 90 Teilen einer 10%igen wässrigen Lösung von Äthylen-Maleinsäure­anhydrid-Copolymerisat (Handelsname EMA, von Monsanto Co. hergestellt) gemischt. 10 Teile Harnstoff und 1 Teil Resorcin wurden in dieser gemischten Lösung aufgelöst, dann wurde der pH-Wert der Lösung auf 3,4 eingestellt.
  • Andererseits wurde ein Ölgemisch von Alkyldiphenyläthan (Handelsname: Hisol SAS 296, von Nisseki Kogaku Co. hergestellt) und Diisopropylnaphthalin (Handelsname KMC-113, von Kureka Kogaku Co. hergestellt) im Gewichtsverhältnis 1:1 vorbereitet. Als einzukapselnde Kernsubstanz wurden hergestellt: (a) ein Öl eines eine blaue Farbe entwickelnden druckempfindlichen Farbstoffs, durch Auflösen von 3 % Kristallviolettlacton und 1 % Benzoylleucomethylenblau in obigem Ölgemisch; und (b) ein Öl eines eine schwarze Farbe entwickelnden druckempfindlichen Farbstoffs, durch Auflösen von 5 % 3-Diäthylamino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran, 1 % 3-­ Diäthyl-amino-6-methyl-7-diphenylmethylaminofluoran und 0,5 % 3-Diäthylamino-6-methyl-7-Chlorfluoran in obigem Ölgemisch.
  • 180 Teile jedes dieser Öle (a) und (b) der druckemp­findlichen Farbstoffe wurden zu der obigen wässrigen Lösung gegeben und bis zur durchschnittlichen Teil­chengröße von 4 Mikron emulgiert. Anschließend wurden 27 Teile einer 37%igen wässrigen Formaldehydlösung auf 55 °C erhitzt, 2 Stunden lang bei 55 °C unter Bildung der Kapselwand umgesetzt und mit einer 28%igen wässrigen Ammoniaklösung bis zum pH-Wert von 7,5 versetzt. Auf diese Weise erhielt man zwei Kapsel­schlämme mit druckempfindliche Farbstoffe enthal­tenden Mikrokapseln.
  • 180 Teile Kapselschlamm, 35 Teile Weizenstärke und 85 Teile einer 8%igen wässrigen oxidierten Stärkelösung wurden vermischt, um eine Beschichtungsmasse herzu­stellen. Die Beschichtungsmasse wurde in einer Be­schichtungsmenge von 4,5 g/m² auf ein Basispapier von 45 g/m² aufgetragen und getrocknet. Auf diese Weise wurden zwei Übertragungsblätter, d.h. (A) ein eine blaue Farbe entwickelndes Übertragungspapier und (B) ein eine schwarze Farbe entwickelndes Ubertragungs­papier hergestellt.
  • Bewertung des Farbentwicklungsblattes
  • Jeweils eines der zwei oben beschriebenen Übertragungs­blätter und ein Farbentwicklungsblatt gemäß den Beispie­len oder Vergleichsbeispielen wurden aufeinander ge­legt, so daß sich eine Farbe bildete.
  • Die Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit, Farbentwicklungs­intensität und Lichtechtheit der Blätter wurden gemes­sen, die Prüfungsergebnisse sind in der Tabelle 1 zu­sammengefaßt.
  • 1) Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit und Endfarbentwick­lungsintensität
  • Ein CB-Blatt, bei dem ein Träger mit einen druckemp­findlichen Farbstoff enthaltenden Mikrokapseln be­schichtet ist, und ein Farbentwicklungsblatt, bei dem ein Träger mit einem Farbentwicklungsmittel beschichtet ist, werden so gelegt, daß sich die beschichteten Ober­flächen der Blätter gegenseitig berühren. Mit dem Rasterplatte-Rollkalandrierapparat wird ein Farbbild erzeugt. Der Reflexionsgrad des Blattes wird mit einem Hunter-Reflektometer (D-Typ; von Toyo Seiki Co.) unter Verwendung eines bernsteinfarbenen Filters gemessen. Aus dem Reflexionsgrad I₀ vor der Farbentwicklung, dem Reflexionsgrad I₁ von 10 Sekunden nach der Farbentwick­lung bzw. dem Reflexionsgrad I₂ von 24 Stunden nach der Farbentwicklung wird die Farbentwicklungsgeschwindig­keit (J₁ bzw. J₂) berechnet. Die Bilddichte bei 10 Sekunden nach der Farbentwicklung wird nach folgender Gleichung berechnet:

  • Und die Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit nach 24 Stunden bzw. die Intensität der endgültigen Farbentwicklung wird nach folgender Gleichung berechnet;

  • Höhere Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit und Intensität der endgültigen Farbentwicklung sind erwünscht.
  • (Beispiel 1) Vorbereitung der Farbentwicklungsmittelsuspension
  • Terpenphenolharz wurde aus α-Pinen und Carbolsäure hergestellt.
  • 60 Teile 3,5-Di (α-methylbenzyl)salicylsäurezink­salz, 40 Teile carboxyliertes Terpenphenolharz, 3,5 Teile Natriumpolyacrylat und 150 Teile Wasser wurden miteinander gemischt und bis zu einer durchschnittlichen Teilchengröße der festen Bestandteile von 3 µm mittels einer Sandschleifmaschine dispergiert; man erhielt so eine Suspension.
  • Vorbereitung der Beschichtungsmasse
  • Eine Beschichtungsmasse der folgenden Rezeptur wurde unter Verwendung der obigen Suspension hergestellt.

    Calciumcarbonat      100 Teile
    Styrol-Butadienlatex (Konzentration: 40%)      15 Teile
    Oxidierte Stärke      15 Teile
    Wasser      415 Teile
  • Herstellung eines Farbentwicklungsblattes
  • Die Beschichtungsmasse wurde mit einem Meyerstab auf ein Papier von 50 g/m² Flachengewicht so aufgetragen, daß die Menge der aufgetragenen Beschichtungsmasse nach dem Trocknen 5,5 g/m² betrug.
  • (Beispiel 2)
  • Man stellte ein Reaktionsprodukt von einem carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz (unter Verwendung von Gummi-Terpentinöl und Carbolsäure), Salicylsäure und Zinkchlorid, anstelle des carboxylierten Terpenphenolharzzinksalzes des Beispiels 1 her.
  • Eine Farbentwicklungsmittelsuspension, eine Beschichtungsmasse und ein Farbentwicklungsblatt wurden aus dem erhaltenen Reaktionsprodukt wie im Beispiel 1 hergestellt.
  • (Beispiel 3)
  • Man stellte ein carboxyliertes Terpenphenolharz aus α-Pinen und Carbolsäure her.
  • 40 Teile 3,5-(α-Methylbenzyl)salicylsäurezinksalz, 55 Teile des erhaltenen carboxylierten Terpenphenol­harzzinksalzes, 2,5 Teile Natriumhexametaphosphat und 180 Teile Wasser wurden bis zu einer durchschnittlichen Teilchengröße von 2,5 µm mittels einer Sandschleif­maschine dispergiert, um eine Farbentwicklungsmittel­ suspension zu bilden.
  • Eine Beschichtungsmasse und ein Farbentwicklungs­blatt wurden aus der erhaltenen Farbentwicklungsmittel­suspension in gleicher Weise wie im Beispiel 1 hergestellt.
  • (Beispiel 4)
  • Man verwendete 60 Teile 3,5-Di-tert.-Butylsalicylsäure­zinksalz und 40 Teile Reaktionsprodukt von einem carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz (aus α-Pinen und Carbolsäure hergestellt), 3,5-tert.-Butylsalicylsäure und Benzoesäurezinksalz. Hierzu wurden 40 Teile Natrium­polyacrylat und 150 Teile Wasser gegeben, dann wurde bis zu einer durchschnittlichen Teilchengröße von 3,0 µ mittels einer Sandschleifmaschine dispergiert, um eine Farbentwicklungsmittelsuspension zu bilden.
  • Ein Farbentwicklungsblatt wurde aus der erhaltenen Farbentwicklungsmittelsuspension in gleicher Weise wie im Beispiel 3 hergestellt.
  • (Vergleichsbeispiel 1)
  • 100 Teile 3,5-Di(α-methylbenzyl)salicylsäurezink­salz , 2,5 Teile Natriumpolyacrylat und 150 Teile Wasser wurden bis zu einer durchschnittlichen Teilchengröße von 3,2 µ mittels einer Sandschleifmaschine dispergiert, um eine Farbentwicklungsmittelsuspension zu bilden.
  • Ein Farbentwicklungsblatt wurde aus der erhaltenen Farbentwicklungsmittelsuspension in gleicher Weise wie im Beispiel 1 hergestellt.
  • (Vergleichsbeispiel 2)
  • Ein Farbentwicklungsblatt wurde unter Verwendung von 3,4-Di-tert.-Butylsalicylsäurezinksalz in gleicher Weise wie im Vergleichsbeispiel 1 hergestellt.
  • Wie aus der Tabelle 1 ersichtlich ist, weist das Farbentwicklungsblatt, dessen Farbentwicklungsschicht ein Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure in Kombination mit einem carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz­zinksalz und/oder einem Reaktionsprodukt von einem carboxylierten Terpenphenolharz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer Zinkverbindung enthält, eine überlegene Farbentwicklungsgeschwindigkeit und eine verbesserte Endfarbentwicklungsintensität auf, im Vergleich mit einem Farbentwicklungsblatt, das nur ein mehrwertiges Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure enthält.

  • Wie oben erklärt, weist die Erfindung sowohl eine überlegene Farbentwicklungsrate (Farbentwicklungs­geschwindigkeit) als auch eine verbesserte Endfarbentwicklungsintensität auf, wobei die überlegene Echtheit des Farbbildes als Vorteil des Farbentwicklungsblattes, das als Farbentwicklungsmittel ein Metallsalz aromatischer Carbonsäuren enthält, erhal­ten bleibt.

Claims (11)

1. Farbentwicklungsblatt für druckempfindliche Auf­zeichnungsblätter, bei dem ein Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure als Farbentwicklungsmittel und ein elektronenabgebender farbloser Farbstoff als Farbbildungsmittel verwendet werden,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
das Farbentwicklungsblatt auf einem Träger mindestens eine Farbentwicklungsschicht hat, die das Metallsalz einer aromatischen Carbonsäure in Kombination mit mindestens einem Zusatz, nämlich einem mehrwertigen Metallsalz eines carboxylierten Terpenphenolharzes und/oder einem Reaktionsprodukt von einem carboxylier­ten Terpenphenolharz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer Verbindung eines mehrwertigen Metalls enthält.
2. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das mehrwertige Metall Magnesium, Aluminium und/oder Zink, insbesondere Zink ist.
3. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die aromatische Carbonsäure eine aromatische Monocarbonsäure ist.
4. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Zusatz mindestens 1 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Metallsalz der aromatischen Carbonsäure, beträgt.
5. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach dem Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Zusatz mindestens 30 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Metallsalz der aromatischen Carbon­säure, beträgt.
6. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Farbentwicklungs­schicht 10 bis 70 Gew.-Teile Farbentwicklungsmittel, bezogen auf den Gesamtfeststoffgehalt, enthält.
7. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die gebrauchsfertige Farbentwicklungsschicht ein Flächengewicht von 1,0 bis 10,0 g/m² hat.
8. Farbentwicklungsblatt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Farbentwicklungs­mittel in Kombination mit Triphenylmethan-, Fluoran-, Spiropyran-, Phenothiazin-, Phthalid- und/oder Indolleukofarbstoffen verwendet wird.
9. Farbentwicklungsmittel für druckempfindliche Auf­zeichnungsblätter auf der Basis eines Metallsalzes einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und üblichen Bestand­teilen von Farbentwicklungsmitteln, dadurch gekenn­zeichnet, daß es als Zusatz ein mehrwertiges Metall­salz eines carboxylierten Terpenphenolharzes und/oder ein Reaktionsprodukt aus einem carboxylierten Terpen­phenolharz, einer aromatischen Carbonsäure und einer mehrwertigen Metallverbindung enthält.
10. Farbentwicklungsmittel nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekenn­zeichnet, daß das mehrwertige Metall Magnesium, Aluminium, Zink, Cadmium, Calcium, Titan, Nickel, Kobalt, Mangan und/oder Vanadium, insbesondere Magnesium, Aluminium und/­oder Zink, vorzugsweise Zink ist.
11. Farbentwicklungsmittel nach Anspruch 8 oder 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Zusatz mindestens 1 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise mindestens 30 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das phenolische Harz, beträgt.
