Definitions
- the present invention relates to a self-adhesive label intended to be affixed to any object and in particular to a postal object sent by registered mail.
- the self-adhesive labels which are currently available on the market generally consist of small sheets which bear, on one of their faces, a layer of adhesive allowing their adhesion to a support sheet on which a certain number of self-adhesive labels are ready. employment are grouped together. These labels generally bear, when used for the dispatch of a postal item, the addressee's address as well as other permanent printed information. However, for example when delivering a postal item sent by registered mail to a recipient, it is necessary to have the recipient sign on an appropriate separate booklet transported by the employee responsible for delivering the registered item, which constitutes an operation. inconvenient since the employee must look in his notebook for the page where the mention of the shipment of the registered item appears and where the recipient's signature must be affixed.
- the present invention seeks to remedy these drawbacks by providing a self-adhesive label of particularly simple design, making it very easy to obtain additional information relating to the object on which the self-adhesive label is affixed and which is suitable for automatic printing of 'information on successive labels.
- this self-adhesive label comprising a basic sheet glued on the back so that it can be affixed to any object in particular on a postal object sent by registered mail and bearing, on its non-glued front, at least one detachable flap made of carbonless material, which is fixed to the base sheet along two opposite marginal zones which are alone glued to the front of the base sheet is characterized in that the central and main part of the detachable flap which is free relative to the underlying base sheet is attached to the marginal zones glued to the base sheet by lines of least resistance allowing its separation and in that it is grouped with other similar labels, on a continuous support strip so that these labels can be detached individually from this support strip.
- the self-adhesive label according to the invention offers the advantage that it allows, after a single entry of information by means of a writing instrument such as a ballpoint pen, a typewriter or a percussion printer, on the detachable flap being able to separate this detachable flap from the basic sheet which remains adherent to the object, the detachable flap then constituting a duplicate of the information copied onto the basic sheet adhering to the object and which can be used for various purposes in particular as than received.
- a writing instrument such as a ballpoint pen, a typewriter or a percussion printer
- the self-adhesive label according to the invention which is represented as a whole by the reference 1 in the drawing has a rectangular shape but it could have any other desired shape, depending on the envisaged application.
- This self-adhesive label 1 consists of a basic sheet 2 of flexible material, for example paper, glued on the back, and of a detachable flap 3 of carbonless material, for example of paper, silicone support, etc.
- This detachable shutter made of carbonless material 3 is fixed to the front of the base sheet 2, along two opposite marginal zones 3a, 3b which are alone glued to the base sheet 2. Between these marginal zones 3a, 3b extends the central part. and main 3c of the detachable flap which, for its part, is free relative to the underlying base sheet 2 and is attached to the marginal zones 3a, 3b by lines of least resistance allowing its separation.
- the self-adhesive labels 1 are grouped, before their use, by being glued by the glued backs of their base sheets 2, on a continuous support strip 4 from which they can be detached individually, with a view to being affixed to various objects, such as that a package 5 (figure 4) to be sent by registered mail.
- the detachable flap 3 includes a blank area S reserved for the signature of the recipient and another blank area D intended to receive the address of the recipient. native.
- This address is entered in this zone D of the detachable flap 3 by means of a writing instrument of the ballpoint pen type or even of a typewriter or a percussion printer, so that this address is automatically reproduced in the underlying area of the base sheet 2, because the detachable flap 3 is made of a carbonless material.
- the latter signs in zone S and the attendant detaches the central part 3c of the shutter 3, also called “distribution sheet” and this distribution sheet 3c is delivered to the post office distributor for proof of delivery of package 5 and archiving.
- the glued basic sheet 1 which remains permanently on the package 5, serves as an address label and it can bear, in addition to the addressee's address and the registered number, the sender's address and the registration number. 'PTT authorization, this two information being pre-printed.

Abstract
