- the reflective strips have a reflective coating on one side only, the reflective strips are so arranged that every other one is turned front side back. So that even with the one-sided reflective strips, the reflective cloth is reflective on both sides.
- the reflective cloth can also be made as shown in Fig. 2, that is with the warps 10 consisting of the reflective strips to be woven with wefts consisting of conventional fibres 21 mixed with the reflective strips 22 arranged side by side with each other.
- the reflective cloth made in this manner gives a relatively greater reflection than the first one of Fig. 1.
- a first embodiment of the reflective umbrella of this invention is made of the reflective cloth of Fig. 1 or Fig. 2. Because the entire area of both sides of the cloth is reflective, the umbrella is reflective from all angles irrespective of the direction from which the umbrella is approached.
- the reflective strips can also be woven into desired patterns by special weaving techniques, as shown in Fig. 3, or simply woven to form a stripe, as shown in Fig. 4, so as to serve the dual purposes of a warning sign and a decorative pattern.
- the pattern or stripe is formed on both the outer side and the inner side of the umbrella cloth, therefore the pattern or stripe reflects light from all angles irrespective of how the umbrella is held when in use, and the risk of being unnoticed by motorists is minimized.

Claims (9)
- Reflektierender Schirm, umfassend eine Schirmbespannung, bei welcher reflektierende Fäden mit herkömmlichen Fasern verwoben sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die reflektierenden Fäden einen reflektierenden Überzug haben, welcher an der Außenseite und der Innenseite der Schirmbespannung sichtbar ist.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die reflektierenden Fäden reflektierende Streifen sind, die durch Streifenschneiden einer dünnen, mit reflektierendem Material beschichteten Kunststoffolie hergestellt werden.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die dünne Kunststoffolie eine Polyesterfolie mit einer Dicke von 12µ bis 80µ ist und daß die Streifenbreite 0,25 mm bis 1,0 mm beträgt.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das reflektierende Material eine Mischung aus feinen Glaskörpern mit einer Größe von etwa 50µ und einem Bindematerial ist, wobei das reflektierende Material auf die dünne Kunststoffolie so aufgetragen ist, daß es eine reflektierende Schicht mit einer Dicke von 0,08 mm bis 0,40 mm bildet.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die reflektierende Schicht auf eine Seite der dünnen Kunststoffolie aufgetragen ist, und daß die aus der dünnen Kunststoffolie hergestellten Streifen als Kettfäden für die Schirmbespannung dienen, wobei die beschichtete Seite jedes zweiten der reflektierenden Streifen zur jeweils anderen Seite gerichtet ist.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die reflektierende Schicht auf beiden Seiten der dünnen Kunststoffolie aufgetragen ist.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach den Ansprüchen 5 oder 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die reflektierenden Streifen über die gesamte Fläche der Schirmbespannung eingewebt sind.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach den Ansprüchen 5 oder 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die reflektierenden Streifen in einem begrenzten Bereich der Schirmbespannung eingewebt sind.
- Reflektierender Schirm nach den Ansprüchen 5 oder 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die begrenzte Fläche streifenförmig ist.
