Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ball game, of the football type, and more particularly to an installation comprising two elements for returning the ball.
  • FR-A-2,574,304 discloses a ball game installation equipped with return elements called "partners": these elements are nets with a concave or convex profile, fixed elastically in a rigid frame.
  • partners these elements are nets with a concave or convex profile, fixed elastically in a rigid frame.
  • the return of the balloon is a function of the elastic deformation both of the net and of the fastening members of the net on its frame. This deformation is also a function of the striking force of the ball, the location of the impact of the ball on the net and also the shape of the net.
  • the angle of return of the balloon by the net is almost unpredictable, as is the return force which is dependent on the damping nature of the net.
  • the concave or convex profiles of the net which are illustrated, lead to an aerial return of the ball, which goes so far as to allow continuous play without the ball touching the ground.
  • each panel consists of four rectangular elements of the same dimensions, equipped with fastening means cooperating for the two-by-two assembly of said four elements, the surface facing the ground of the two central elements being planar and that of the two lateral elements having in the horizontal plane a concave shape. It is understood that the four elements once assembled form a single homogeneous panel, without discontinuity and that the concavity of the two lateral elements is opposite, forming a rounded face facing the ground.
  • Each return panel, or the elements that compose it, is for example made from a composite material of glass fibers impregnated with polyester resin.
  • Each return panel can be rigidly fixed in the ground at the desired location on the playing field; or advantageously it is removable, for example being fixed on a support in the form of a container capable of receiving a load.
  • the panel and its support are light and handy, and the stability of the panel once placed along the ground is obtained there by filling the tank with a sufficient load so that the panel remains in place under the striking of the ball.
  • the installation may include, under the panel, means for damping and recovering the ball, for example a net.
  • the two return panels are fixed on supports at a determined height above the ground which depends on the height of the central obstacle.
  • the central obstacle is advantageously made of a flexible material, capable of absorbing the fall of a player without injuring him.
  • it comprises supports in the form of arches, aligned and fixed to the ground, and a net or a covering fabric fixed on the arches and enveloping the volume formed by the alignment of said arches.
  • the installation includes a rectangular playing field 14 m long by 5 m wide with two zones 1 a and 1 b of equal surface (7 m by 4 m) bounded by the central obstacle 2 placed in the middle of the field parallel to the sides of the field along which two return panels 3 a and 3 b are positioned .
  • Each return panel 3 is an assembly of four modular panels 4, 5, 6, 7 in the shape of a rectangle 1.20 m high and 1.25 m wide. Each of these modular panels is mounted on a support 8 using two vertical uprights 9 and 10 located at the lateral ends of the panel. The maximum height of the panel is equivalent to that of a football cage, that is to say of the order of 2.20 m.
  • the support 8 is a tray which extends under the corresponding modular panel, laid flat on the ground and capable of receiving a load, such as water or cement.
  • a horizontal upper return 16 is provided along the upper edge of the modular panel, as well as a vertical lateral reinforcement 17 on each side of the panel, in order to improve the solidity of the removable modular assembly constituted by the panel 4, 5, 6, 7 and its support 8. Between the uprights 9 and 10 is stretched a net 11 for damping the ball.
  • the four modular panels 4, 5, 6, 7 have a slight inclination, of the order of 20 °, relative to the vertical, the upper part of the panel being more advanced towards the ground than the lower part as is clearly illustrated in figure 2.
  • the two central panels 5 and 6 have their surface facing the ground 2 which is flat.
  • the two modular side panels 4 and 7 have their surface facing the ground which is slightly curved in a horizontal plane, according to a concave curve. This curvature is opposite for one and the other of the two lateral modular panels 4 and 7, so that the return panel 3 has a slightly rounded shape towards the ground at its two ends.
  • the modular panels are made of a rigid composite material, based on glass fibers reinforced with polyester resin. A rigid panel is thus obtained, ensuring an adequate rebound of the ball, but light enough for the removable assembly to be manageable. In addition, this material is weather resistant.
  • Means for attaching modular panels two by two 12, and vertical uprights two by two 13 ensure the assembly and the stability of the assembly. These are all known attachment means, for example pins matched with keys cooperating with orifices drilled through the uprights and positioned facing one another during assembly.
  • the central obstacle 2 is a net 14 stretched over the outer part of three supports 15 in the form of a hoop, two supports placed along the ground and the third in the middle of the field along the axis AA ′ in FIG. 1.
  • the three supports 15 are in the same alignment, the arches being parallel, so that the net 14 envelops a volume which corresponds to a rectangular parallelepiped surmounted by a half-cylinder.
  • the maximum height of the net is of the order of 80 cm, for a width on the ground of 90 cm.
  • the net 14 is an obstacle for a ball; because of its structure, it does not present a risk of injury to the player who accidentally falls into it.
  • two players or two groups of players are on the field respectively in zones 1 a and 1 b .
  • they send the ball, at the foot or the head, from their zone 1 a towards the opposing zone 1 b over the net 14.
  • the ball is sent by a player from zone 1 a on the panel 3 b from the opposing zone 1 b
  • the ball is returned by the panel 3 b on the ground of the zone 1 b whatever the point of impact of the ball on the panel 3 b , due to the geometry of the panel 3 b and its rigid rebound structure.
  • the return of the ball is predictable by the player from zone 1b , knowing the origin of the ball, and estimating the strike force; thereby the player may be placed on the return path of the ball through the panel 3b and the return to the zone 1 after it has rebounded on the floor of the area 1b.
  • the game in question implemented with the aid of this installation, includes rules which need not be explained here but which advantageously exploit the particular properties of the return panels and the presence of the central obstacle, who have just been recalled.
  • the invention is not limited to the embodiment of the invention which has been described, in particular, the dimensions of the ground, the height of the panels, and of the central obstacle are adapted to the conditions of the game, s '' these are children or adults, etc ...
