Definitions

  • the invention relates to a protective device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Protective devices are known which are arranged in front of the inlet ring of a blower of an internal combustion engine and are connected to the housing of the blower by means of a screw connection.
  • the protective device preferably consists of wires with a circular cross section, which are arranged in a ring or spiral shape.
  • the grille is elastically supported on relatively high stilts, making it oscillatable and prone to resonance. Due to strong vibrations of the blower, individual grid wires of the protective device break off easily and can be pulled into the blower. The consequence of this is a blower failure and often even a complete damage to the engine.
  • screws, washers, rubber elements and bushings are required to fasten the protective device, which makes the assembly of the protective device and thereby also the repair of the fan more difficult.
  • a blower housing for electronic devices is known from EP-A 190 835.
  • Several octagonal openings are arranged in the blower housing, which form the inlet for the cooling air.
  • a grille is arranged in front of the openings, which lies against the blower housing via a clamp connection.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a protective device for a fan of an internal combustion engine, the fan being driven by a V-belt.
  • the protective device should be designed so that it is easy to install despite the V-belt and offers sufficient protection.
  • the protective device can be clamped onto the blower in such a way that it almost encloses the V-belt and is easy to assemble.
  • a plate in particular a disc, is advantageously arranged in the center of the grid, to which the clamping brackets are attached.
  • the clamping brackets consist of wires whose diameter is larger than the diameter of the grid wires. It is advantageous to use simple structural steel z. B. ST 37 K to use.
  • the grid sections adjacent to the fourth tensioning bracket are advantageously arranged axially offset.
  • the opening of the blower housing and the tensioning bracket, as seen in the axial direction of the grille / are designed in the form of a segment of a circle, and the outermost circumferential region seen in the axial direction is bent approximately at right angles to the blower opening in the axial direction. This outermost circumferential area clasps the blower housing and forms the clamp connection.
  • the outermost circumferential region advantageously has a semicircular cross section as seen in the circumferential direction and each of the two brackets of the outermost circumferential region touches the blower housing at two points.
  • the blower housing expediently has a groove into which the outermost peripheral region engages with its semicircular design. As a result, the grid is fixed axially.
  • the clamping brackets at the inlet radius of the fan housing are advantageously designed with an exemption from the latter.
  • the clamping brackets expediently have a kink between the plate and the outermost circumferential region, so that the grid is attached in a space-saving manner.
  • the two isosceles sides of the tensioning brackets advantageously form an angle of approximately 45 degrees. This has the advantage that each of these isosceles sides engages the blower housing at a distance from the other isosceles side and the clamping connection is thereby improved.
  • the lattice from concentrically arranged rings or from spirally bent lattice bars.
  • Figures 1 and 2 show a protective device according to the invention for a blower of an internal combustion engine in cross section and in plan view.
  • 1 is. shown in cross section, a Nachleitradgebläse, an impeller 11 with blades 12 is surrounded by a blower housing 2.
  • the impeller 11 is connected to a drive roller 13 which is arranged on the axis 16 of the impeller 11 and is driven via a V-belt 14.
  • the blower housing 2 has on its end facing the drive roller 13 on its circumference a groove 15 into which a protective device according to the invention engages via a clamp connection.
  • the protective device consists of a grid 1 formed from wires, which is fixed on four approximately identical clamping brackets 3, for example by welding seams, which are distributed around the circumference at a distance from one another and rest on the blower housing 2 via a clamp connection.
  • the clamping brackets 3 are designed in the form of a segment of a circle as viewed in the axial direction of the grille 1, the outermost circumferential region 5 as viewed in the axial direction being bent approximately at right angles to the blower opening in the axial direction.
  • the outermost circumferential region 5 has a semicircular cross section 6, seen in the circumferential direction, which engages in the groove 15 of the blower housing 2.
  • the two isosceles sides of the clamping bracket 3 enclose an angle of approximately 45 degrees.
  • the grid 1 is arranged on four clamping brackets 3, three of which are each offset by 90 degrees to one another and the fourth clamping bracket 3a to its two adjacent clamping brackets 3 includes an angle of over 90 degrees on the one hand and an angle of less than 90 degrees on the other.
  • the V-belt 14 there is space for the V-belt 14 on both sides of the fourth tensioning bracket 3a. If the angle between the fourth tensioning bracket 3a and its adjacent tensioning bracket 3 is less than 90 degrees, this area is provided for the load strand, while the other side of the fourth tensioning bracket 3a faces the empty strand of the V-belt 14. So that the grid is to be arranged close to the V-belt 14, the grid sections 10a, 10b adjacent to the fourth tensioning bracket 3a are arranged axially offset.
  • a plate 4 In the center of the grid 1 there is a plate 4, here a disc, to which the tensioning brackets are attached.
  • This plate 4 is arranged concentrically in front of the drive roller 13 and can cover it completely.
  • each of the two brackets of the outermost circumferential region 5 touches the blower housing 2 at two points 7a, 7b, as a result of which the protective device is axially fixed.
  • the clamping bracket 3 can apply the necessary clamping force, they advantageously consist of wires whose diameter is larger than the diameter of the grid wires. Furthermore, it is advantageous to carry out the clamping bracket 3 at the inlet radius of the blower housing 2 with a clearance 8 to the latter. This measure serves for better sound insulation.
  • the tensioning brackets 3 advantageously have a kink 9 between the plate 4 and the outermost peripheral region 5.
  • FIG. 2 shows an advantageous embodiment in which the grid 1 is formed from rings arranged concentrically. It can also be advantageous, as shown in FIG. 3, if the lattice consists of spirally bent lattice bars.
  • the protective device is constructed almost symmetrically and the center of gravity is therefore in the axis of the blower or the grille 1. As a result, the protective device is low-vibration and does not tend to resonate so easily.
  • the grille or the protective device can be easily removed and can later be re-assembled simply by pushing or pushing it onto the blower housing 2. Due to the large number of equal parts and the use of simple structural steel, i. H. no spring steel, the protective device is inexpensive to manufacture.
  • the torsional strength of the protective device is achieved by an automatic slight incorporation of the outermost peripheral region 5 into the blower housing 2.
