Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electromagnetic device for weaving machines comprising a coil that can be connected to an electrical line and at least one pole body assigned to it.
  • Known weaving machines irrespective of the type, have a large number of device elements which have to interact in a controlled manner, in particular when guiding the thread.
  • the weft thread storage device to which a thread brake can be connected when air is inserted.
  • relay nozzles and at the end of the shed a stretching nozzle are necessary.
  • DE-OS 23 64 680 a device for treating yarns which acts as a thread brake and works electromagnetically. However, there is only stopping or loosening of the thread here, but not slowing down, ie slowing the thread running.
  • European patent application 0 250 359 shows, for example, a clamping element by means of which thread windings are prevented from being pulled off the drum of the shove thread store.
  • This clamping element is also actuated by means of an electromagnet.
  • the inventor has set himself the goal of developing an electromagnetic device of the type mentioned above, which quickly changes position and can be used in a variety of ways, particularly on weaving machines. Furthermore, this device should be of simple construction and also be able to provide an intermediate position outside of two defined end positions.
  • a leaf spring strip fixedly mounted at one end is assigned to the pole body and that the pole body has a contact surface for the leaf spring strip, the leaf spring strip in the non-tightened state, in the absence of a magnetic field, being arranged obliquely to the contact surface in such a way that during assembly of the magnetic field in the coil and the pole body, the end region of the leaf spring strip first comes to rest on the contact surface of the pole body and, when the magnetic field is strengthened, ever larger areas of the leaf spring strip rest on the pole body.
  • both leaf spring strips and pole bodies consist of a material with magnetic properties.
  • the contact surface or the leaf spring strip will be curved.
  • a straight leaf spring strip is fixed at one end to a curved contact surface. If the coil is not activated, the angle between the leaf spring strip and the contact surface will increase due to the curvature of the contact surface along the length of the leaf spring strip. If the coil is activated, a relatively high electromagnetic force acts on the leaf spring strip if the leaf spring strip is of great length, with it initially being quickly attracted due to a lack of counterforce. However, the more the leaf spring strip attaches to the curved contact surface, the higher its bend and the more opposing forces it develops, which counteract the electromagnetic attraction. If the coil storm is switched off, the leaf spring strip is returned to its starting position with a very high initial acceleration.
  • the main advantage of the present invention is thus that both initial speeds with which the leaf spring strip moves from its two end positions are relatively high. When the voltage in the electrical lines of the coil changes, different end positions of the leaf spring strip on the pole body can be reached.
  • the leaf spring strip of the damping strip is covered with a thin sheet which acts as an additional mass and thus further improves the damping. In particular, rebound of the leaf spring strip is reduced.
  • Another advantage of the invention is that the mass of the leaf spring strip to be moved is relatively low. Furthermore, the spring characteristic and thus the movement of the leaf spring can be controlled. The relatively large contact surface of the leaf spring and the low mass contribute to a long service life. The entire setup is simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
  • the electromagnetic device is to be used above all at the end of the weft insertion in a weaving machine to prevent further thread windings from being pulled off the drum of the weft thread store.
  • the leaf spring strip has a locking pin which, in the position of use, ie when the bobbin is not activated, engages in a recess in the drum of the weft thread store. As described in more detail above, the leaf spring strip is lifted and thus the locking pin is pulled out, so that the desired thread windings are released very quickly. This is a particular advantage of the present electromagnetic device for this intended purpose.
  • the electromagnetic device is also intended to be used in relation to the relay nozzles, which can be arranged along the weft channel in the shed.
  • the electromagnetic device is designed as a relay nozzle valve.
  • This ball is then assigned to a mouth of the relay nozzle valve.
  • the entire electromagnetic device can be arranged in a hermetically sealed housing which has a compressed air connection.
  • the electromagnetic device as a thread brake or as a stretching nozzle for the weft thread tip on the catching side of the weaving machine, in which case a counter surface interacts with the leaf spring strip.
  • This counter surface can be a frame, a housing, the above-mentioned shielding plate or the damping strip itself, or the contact surface of the pole body is designed as a counter surface.
  • the leaf spring strip is deformed more or less, which also changes the braking effect on the thread. This allows a laterally variable braking effect to be achieved on the thread according to a specific program.
  • an electromagnetic device P has a frame 1 which is fastened to a device part 2 or support element assigned to it. As shown in FIG. 2, this frame 1 can also form a housing 4 together with a corresponding side wall 3.
  • pole bodies 5 which are spaced apart from one another. Both pole bodies 5 are connected to one another or to the housing via a core 6 and a connecting element 7 which is only indicated by dashed lines.
  • the core 6 is surrounded by a coil 8, which are connected to a current source or a regulator (not shown in more detail) via corresponding lines 9.
  • the pole bodies 5 have a curved contact surface 10 for a leaf spring strip 11.
  • This leaf spring strip 11 is also fixed to the frame 1 or housing 4 by means of a corresponding fastening element 12, which is only indicated by dashed lines.
  • this leaf spring strip 11 has a locking pin 13 which engages in a recess 14 of a weft thread store 15 when the electromagnetic device P is not activated. In this position, it prevents further thread windings of a thread 16 from being pulled off the drum 17 of the weft thread store 15. In this way, the start and end of the pulling-off process are controlled by the locking pin 13.
  • the contact with the pole body 5 occurs tangentially point by point.
  • a counterforce is built up over the free length of the leaf spring strip 11.
  • the total electromagnetic force acting on the leaf spring strip 11 is relatively high due to the length of the leaf spring strip 11, especially since the counterforce generated by the bend is relatively low.
  • the locking pin 13 can be significantly extended from the recess 14.
  • a high counterforce must be overcome because of the bend, so that the electromagnetic force must be significantly increased here.
  • the electromagnetic force is advantageously to be selected such that it is in equilibrium with the counterforce of the leaf spring strip 11 when the leaf spring strip 11 lies completely against the contact surface 10.
  • the two pole bodies 5 are formed relatively thin, so that a fast magnetic induction is possible through them.
  • the frame 1 consists of a U-shaped spacer and mounting bracket 19, the two free legs 20 and 21 being connected to each other via a shielding plate 22.
  • the underside of this shielding plate 22 is finely plastered and wear-resistant.
  • the shielding plate 22 has an elongated hole 23 in which a thin plate 24 fits. Its underside is also finely plastered and wear-resistant. Furthermore, this thin sheet is vulcanized on the damping strip 18, whereby more mass is obtained and the "bouncing" is reduced. The yarn path is also shielded.
  • the damping strip 18 also covers the shielding plate 22.
  • the damping strips 18 and thin sheet 24 have a slot 25 and 26, respectively, which can be penetrated by the locking pin 13. This locking pin 13 is fixed to the leaf spring strip 11.
  • FIG. 4 shows the use of the electromagnetic device as a valve for relay nozzles 30.
  • These relay nozzles 30 are located in the region of the weft channel for the thread and are supplied with compressed air by a compressed air connection 31 in the housing 4 when the leaf spring strip 11 is in the position shown in the dot-and-dash line.
  • the leaf spring strip 11 is fitted with a ball 32, by means of which a ball 32 Ball valve an inlet mouth 33 of the relay nozzle 30 can be closed.
  • the electromagnetic device P according to the invention can also be used as a thread feed brake.
  • the leaf spring strip 11 is provided without any addition.
  • two guides of the thread 16 are possible as the thread inlet brake.
  • the solid line of the thread 16 in FIG. 5 shows that the thread is guided along the frame 1 or the housing 4. It should be necessary that the leaf spring strip 11 has a slot 11 'of a certain length along its longitudinal axis, so that the thread 16 can be guided freely when the leaf spring strip 11 is tightened.
  • the second possibility is that the thread 16, as shown in dashed lines, runs along the contact surface 10 of the pole body 5 on a strip 10 'connecting these. The thread is then braked by activating the bobbin 8.
  • a whole series of embodiments are also conceivable and are intended to be encompassed by the invention.
  • the device P can also be used as a stretching device for the weft thread 16 after the insertion, as shown in FIG.
  • the weft thread 16 lies in the extended position along the relay nozzle in the device P between the leaf spring strip 11 and the pole body 5.
  • the thread comes into position 16 'between a deflecting element 5' and the leaf spring strip 11 and will so additionally stretched.
  • Figure 7 shows a partial view according to arrow VII.
  • Figure 6 the position of the thread 16 on the leaf spring strip 11 and the formation of the slot 11 '.
  • An additional relay nozzle can facilitate the insertion of the thread 16 into the slot 11 '.
