Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hearing aid with an actuating element for changing the acoustic amplification and with an operating mode switch for two or more operating modes.
  • Known hearing aids have a volume control for changing the acoustic amplification and a multi-function switch (e.g. MTO switch).
  • MTO switch When the switch is in the O position, the hearing aid is switched off.
  • position M when the hearing aid is switched on the amplifier is electrically connected to the microphone and in position T when the hearing aid is switched on the amplifier is electrically connected to the telephone coil.
  • the hearing aid can also be equipped with be provided for setting the basic gain, for setting the frequency range (low frequency, high frequency), for limiting the maximum output sound pressure.
  • the invention has for its object to improve and expand the function of a hearing aid of the type mentioned without additional actuating elements.
  • this object is achieved in that the actuating element for the acoustic gain setting further selectable functions can be selected, such that the actuating element in addition to the acoustic gain setting also for setting the contrast gain and / or noise suppression and / or for adapting the hearing aid to different sound environments or listening situations is provided by selecting different signal processing methods.
  • Advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in claims 2 to 9.
  • an easy-to-use hearing aid is created, the actuating element for changing the acoustic amplification (volume control) also taking over the function of one or more setting elements, or further setting functions being transferable to the volume control using a multifunction switch.
  • the volume control and the mode switch can be used to control further hearing aid functions without additional actuating elements.
  • an operating mode switch of the hearing device has two or more switching positions via which the hearing device wearer selects the signal processing of his hearing device. Furthermore, e.g. the volume control of the hearing aid is determined accordingly for two or more different functions.
  • the volume control as is known per se, is used to adjust the acoustic amplification.
  • the contrast enhancement of the hearing aid is adjustable. In this second operating position, the manual control of the volume is no longer required because the processed sound signal is processed directly into the residual hearing area of the hearing aid wearer by the hearing aid adjustment.
  • Known hearing aids are equipped with a multi-function switch, the switching element 1 of which is attached to the housing 2 of the hearing aid in accordance with FIG. 1 in such a way that it is accessible for manual actuation.
  • the known multi-function switch has an O position in which the hearing aid is switched off. Furthermore, the switch has two operating positions M and S, the switch serving in the normal operating position M as in the position S for setting the noise suppression for acoustic amplification (as a volume control).
  • FIG. 2 shows the basic components as an example of a hearing aid according to the invention in a block diagram, with a further component 8 for speech signal processing (speech enhancement) being connected in parallel on the microphone in addition to the amplifier 4 provided.
  • speech signal processing speech enhancement
  • the hearing aid 9 has, in addition to the volume control 7, a multi-function switch 10 with the switching position O (hearing aid switched off), switching position M (hearing aid in the normal operating position, the volume control 7 is used to adjust the acoustic amplification) and switching position S (hearing aid in the operating position for better intelligibility of speech signals, in this S position for "LANGUAGE" another function is transferred to the volume divider, for example as an adjusting element for adjusting the contrast enhancement).
  • a multi-function switch 10 with the switching position O (hearing aid switched off), switching position M (hearing aid in the normal operating position, the volume control 7 is used to adjust the acoustic amplification) and switching position S (hearing aid in the operating position for better intelligibility of speech signals, in this S position for "LANGUAGE" another function is transferred to the volume divider, for example as an adjusting element for adjusting the contrast enhancement).
  • volume controls The influence of the volume controls (VC) is explained below with reference to FIG.
  • the effect of the reinforcement plate, eg volume control 7, in the operating position M of the switch 10 (arrow M) or in the operating position S of the switch 10 (arrow S) results from the schematic illustration in FIG. 4.
  • the horizontal in the direction of the arrow VC shows from left to right the range of rotation of the potentiometer of the actuator 7 with increasing effect to the right.
  • the vertical increase in the direction of the arrow M shows the increase in acoustic amplification. At maximum amplification, point 11 of the diagram, a hearing aid wearer could notice with this hearing aid adjustment alone: "I hear louder, but I don't understand better.”
