Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a device is known from EP 0 152 623 B1.
  • the filter is heated there electrically, either upstream or by direct heating of the filter itself.
  • the object of the invention is to heat the filter in a non-electrical way with the highest possible efficiency.
  • An embodiment is shown in the drawing and shows a section through a heatable filter ring body installed in a hot air-carrying housing.
  • the heatable gas-permeable annular body 1 forming the filter is surrounded radially on the outside by a closed first annular space 2.
  • the combustible solid particles of the engine exhaust gas are introduced into the closed annular space 2 through a feed channel 3.
  • the introduction takes place with an exhaust gas stream which is branched off from an upstream collector (not shown), which can be a cyclone.
  • the solid particles to be burned have been separated from an exhaust gas stream and collected.
  • the annular body 1 with the annular space 2 surrounding it is installed in a tubular jacket 4.
  • One conically tapering end 5 of the tubular jacket serves to receive a burner 6 and a feed channel 7 for the tangential entry of fresh air.
  • a further annular space is formed around the tubular jacket 4 by a coaxial outer jacket 8, which is divided by a tubular partition into a first annular chamber 9 directly surrounding the annular space 2 and an additional annular chamber 10 surrounding this.
  • the annular chambers 9 and 10 are connected to one another at the end facing the burner.
  • the ring chamber 9 is in turn connected at its end facing away from the burner to the cylindrical cavity of the ring body 1.
  • a partial gas stream branched off from the exhaust gas stream of a combustion engine with separated soot solid particles enters the annular space 2.
  • the gas passes through the gas-permeable filter ring body 1 while the soot particles settle on the surface of the annular body 1.
  • the hot air stream mixed with the partial exhaust gas stream flows through the annular chambers 9 and 10 and leaves the annular chamber 10 through a nozzle 11 to the atmosphere. It is of course also possible to lead the exhaust gas back into the cleaned or unpurified main exhaust gas stream.
  • a radially perforated plate-like insert 12 is provided in the interior of the ring body 1, through which the Hot air is passed through.
  • the coaxially arranged annular chambers protect the annular body 1 from heat loss to the atmosphere.
  • the soot solid particles that are brought in from the radially outside and partially penetrate into the soot solid particles can be safely burned under the influence of the temperatures that can be generated on the filter.
  • the ring body 1 consists of a porous, heat-resistant material such as ceramic.
  • a diaphragm 13 can be attached axially at a distance in front of the burner 6, the effect of which can be varied or increased by additional means such as, for example, guide vanes.
