Abstract

On injecte un combustible auxiliaire (7) dans un courant de vent chaud circulant en direction d'au moins une tuyère du haut fourneau, et un combustible de surchauffe (8) dans ledit courant de vent chaud (5), en amont du point d'injection dudit combustible auxiliaire (7; 7a; 7b). Au moins un des deux combustibles (7;8) est brûlé au moins partiellement avant d'être injecté dans le courant de vent chaud (5). On règle la teneur en oxygène de vent chaud (5) en fonction des quantités de combustible (7;8) injectées. On règle la quantité de combustible de surchauffe (8) injecté dans le vent chaud (5) de telle façon que le vent chaud (5) soit porté à une température comprise entre 1500°C et 2500°C.
