Abstract

Eine Kühlvorrichtung, bei welcher der Joule - Thomson Effekt ausgenutzt wird, enthält eine Vorlaufleitung (28) mit einem Einlaßende (40) und einem Auslaßende, deren Einlaßende (40) mit einer Druckgasquelle verbindbar ist, eine Entspannungsdüse (30), die an einem Auslaßende der Vorlaufleitung (28) vorgesehen ist, wobei über die Vorlaufleitung (28) zuströmendes Druckgas sich an der Entspannungsdüse (30) unter Abkühlung entspannt, einen Rücklauf für das abgekühlte und entspannte Gas, und einen Gegenstrom - Wärmetauscher, durch welchen das über die Vorlaufleitung (28) zuströmende Druckgas in wärmeleitendem Kontakt mit dem über den Rücklauf abströmenden, abgekühlten und entspannten Gas steht. Zum zusätzlichen Kühlen des Einlaßendes (40) der Vorlaufleitung (28) dienen Peltier - Elemente (48), deren kalte Seiten (50) in unmittelbarem Kontakt mit dem Einlaßende (40) der Vorlauf­ leitung (40) stehen. An den warmen Seiten (52) der Peltier- Elemente (48) sind Wärmetauschermittel (54) vorgesehen, die von dem Gas aus dem Rücklauf durchströmt werden.
