Definitions

  • the invention relates to a radial press for essentially cylindrical workpieces, consisting of a plurality of plungers which can be displaced in radial guides, the radially inner end of which is designed to receive press jaws, and toggle levers which are pivotably supported by one end on a plunger and with the other Grasp the end of a pressure ring, and one concentrically encompassing the tappets and toggle levers, which can rotate around its central axis.
  • a radial press of a slightly different design should also be mentioned, which is disclosed in DE-OS 25 11 942.
  • the rams are not operated via toggle levers, but directly via ring plates, on the inner surfaces of these ring plates, wedge-shaped surfaces are formed which each form a closed line on the inner circumference of these ring plates.
  • These ring plates there are 3 pieces, concentrically surround the support ring, and on this they can be rotated in opposite directions.
  • the two outer ring plates have wedge surfaces that run in the same direction, whereas the middle ring plate has an opposite wedge surface.
  • the outer ends of the tappets each lie in the apexes of the wedge surfaces which are arranged like a roof surface.
  • the present invention has therefore set itself the task of further developing a radial press of the type mentioned in such a way that it is suitable for the application of extremely high pressing forces, and that the structural elements forming the radial press are designed so that the forces occurring over a large area distributed and broadcast.
  • this is achieved in that at least the tappets and the toggle levers and optionally also the guide blocks for the tappets and, if appropriate, also the pressure ring arranged between two tappets, and possibly also the pressure ring, are formed from a plurality of plates or tabs which follow one another in the axial direction, and the tappets and toggle and the toggle and the Pressure ring mesh like a comb in the area of the mutual bearing bolts, and that the guide blocks forming the radial guides for the tappets are mutually fixed on both ends by a support ring and the pressure ring is rotatably supported on the outer boundary of the support rings.
  • toggle levers or the individual tabs forming the toggle levers are practically not exposed over a large area in any position, so that the risk of kinking is completely eliminated.
  • a relatively large section of the individual tabs of the toggle lever therefore always lies in the corresponding incisions in the pressure ring and the other section lies between two plates which form the plungers.
  • the mutual rotary bearing can thus lie within the radial guides, so that the tappet cannot tilt even under great forces when the pressure builds up accordingly.
  • FIG. 1 shows a radial press according to the invention in a front view; shown partially cut away;
  • Figure 2 is a side view of the radial press, also shown partially cut away.
  • 3 shows a front view of the radial press, similar to the illustration in FIG. 1, the two end positions of the ram and toggle lever being shown;
  • Figure 4 is an enlarged view of a detail with knee lever and plunger as well as pressure ring and guide blocks.
  • Fig. 5 is a front view of the pressure ring;
  • Fig. 6 shows a section along the line I - I in Fig.
  • Figure 7 is an oblique view of a portion of a plunger and a toggle lever cooperating therewith; 8 shows a section through a partial area of the radial press, a partial section of a ram and a toggle lever being shown; Fig. 9 in an oblique view a slider for insertion between the support ring and pressure ring; Fig. 10 shows a schematic representation of a measuring device for the exact determination of the pinch dimension.
  • the radial press according to the invention is suitable for pressing essentially cylindrical workpieces, metallic fittings being thereby pressed onto the ends of pressure hoses, for example.
  • Such a radial press can of course also be used for any other type of pressing in which any workpiece with an essentially cylindrical design is to be pressed in the radial direction.
  • the radial press essentially consists of a plurality of plungers 2 which can be displaced in radial guides 1 and whose radially inner end is designed to receive press jaws. Furthermore, toggle levers 4 are provided, which with one end are pivotably mounted on each of a tappet 2 and with their other end on a pressure ring 5. The pressure ring 5 is held rotatable about its central axis and concentrically comprises the plunger 2 and toggle lever 4.
  • At least the plunger 2 and the toggle lever 4 are formed from a plurality of plates 6 or tabs 7 which follow one another in the axial direction.
  • the plunger 2 and the toggle lever 4 as well as the toggle lever 4 and the pressure ring 5 engage in a comb-like manner in the region of the mutual bearing bolts 8 and 9.
  • each tab 7 of the toggle lever 4 is supported laterally over its entire length, and the same also applies to the individual plates 6 of the plungers 2.
  • the guide blocks 11 for the tappets 2, which form the radial guides 1, are mutually fixed on both end faces by a supporting ring 12 or 13.
  • the concentrically arranged pressure ring 5 is also rotatably supported on these support rings 12, 13.
  • the tabs 7 forming the toggle levers 4 and the plates 6 forming the plungers 2 are designed as stamped parts and can therefore be produced in a very simple mass production.
  • stamped parts there is a guarantee that from the outset there will be hardly any rejects, especially in mass production.
  • the tabs 7 of the toggle levers 4 are delimited at both ends concentrically to the bores 14, 15 for the bearing bolts 8 and 9 by a circular arc 16, 17, these individual tabs 7 having a width B corresponding to the diameter of the circular arc over their entire length. It is therefore possible in a simple manner to punch these individual tabs 7 from a strip material.
  • the plates 6 for the plunger 2 and the tabs 7 for the toggle lever 4 have the same width A and B and are preferably also of the same thickness, so that this in turn has a very significant effect on mass production. This is also an important factor for the transmission of forces, since the toggle levers 4 and the plungers 2 have the same pressure and buckling strength and, moreover, intermesh with one another like a comb.
  • the platelets 6 forming the plungers 2 are approximately rectangular, the radially inner ends having a wedge-shaped taper 17 on both sides. This special design at the radially inner end region means that the plungers 2 can be moved relatively far towards the center without adjacent plungers hindering one another immediately.
  • the platelets 6 forming the plungers 2 have at their radially inner ends a recess 19 provided with grooves 18 undercut on both sides on, this recess 19 serving for positive and axially displaceable receiving the correspondingly designed press jaws 3 on the rear side thereof.
  • This special configuration enables the press jaws 3 to be held in a form-fitting manner, which can be supported in the radial direction on the corresponding boundaries 20 of the plunger 2, and the force transmission in the radial direction is therefore ensured.
  • the actual mounting of the press jaws 3 is practically only necessary to keep the press jaws 3 captive.
  • the special training course also has the advantage that the press jaws can be replaced in a simple manner.
  • the construction depth of the radial press is practically variable by the construction according to the invention, that is to say the press length can be varied, there is now also the possibility of practically producing the press jaws 3 from a rod-shaped profile material, in which case the required length is simply cut off.
  • the plunger 2 makes it possible to design the plunger 2 as a unitary, stable body, namely if the plates 6 and the intermediate layers 21 are firmly connected to one another, preferably riveted.
  • the intermediate layers 21 are only designed as narrow, rectangular plates. Within the scope of the invention it would be conceivable that these intermediate layers 21 correspond in shape and size to the radially inner ends of the platelets 6 are carried out so that these intermediate layers 21 also contribute to holding and guiding the pressing jaws 3.
  • the guide blocks 11 are at least in the area of the radial guide 1 on one side above the Provide pivoting area of the tabs 7 with slit-like incisions 25 so that a mutual, comb-like engagement is also provided between the tabs 7 of the toggle lever 4 and the guide blocks 11. It is therefore in a Preeßung, in which the toggle lever 4 does not have to be pivoted to the extended position relative to the plunger 2, a secure support of the individual tabs 7 of the toggle lever 4 is guaranteed, so that there can be no buckling loads.
  • the guide blocks 11 could be made by milling slots.
  • the guide blocks 11 also consist of individual, successive plates 26 and 27, these individual plates 26 and 27 having at least two, preferably three through bores 28, so that these mutually and opposite one another by means of tension screws passing from the support ring 13 to the support ring 12 the support rings 12, 13 can be fixed.
  • the guide blocks 11 are in turn formed by this screw into stiff structures, whereby the special arrangement of whole plates 26 and the boundary 29 of the incisions 25 forming plates 27 makes it possible to pivot the tabs 7 forming the toggle lever 4, but nevertheless by the full-size plate 26 of the guide blocks 11 a guide of the plunger 2 is possible in the area of the plate 6 over the entire length of these guide blocks 11.
  • the pressure ring 5 can be designed as a drop-forged part with slots 30 milled in the region of the engagement of the tabs 7 of the toggle levers 4 and bores 31 running parallel to the axis for receiving the bearing bolts 9 of the toggle levers 4. Processing in a milling process and a drilling process are then required.
  • the second design variant is, in accordance with the design of the plunger 2 and the toggle lever 4, also to build up the pressure ring 5 layered from individual stamped parts, the one stamped parts having inwardly projecting bearing eyes with the bores 31 for receiving the bearing bolts 9 and the stamped parts used in between with a thickness approximately corresponding to the thickness of the tabs 7 of the toggle levers 4 have arcuate indentations 32 for delimiting the slots 30 for the engagement of the tabs 7 of the toggle levers 4.
  • a correspondingly heavy punching device is necessary for such correspondingly large parts for the manufacture of the pressure ring 5 from individual punched parts, but this variant is also to be classified as a simple and inexpensive design option in connection with the structural design of the tappet 2 and the toggle lever 4.
  • the support rings 12, 13 are firmly connected to a machine frame 35, preferably screwed.
  • a hydraulic cylinder 36 is held pivotably about the supporting bolt 37, the actuating rod 38 of the piston of the hydraulic cylinder 36 engaging a bearing eye 40 which projects radially from the pressure ring 5.
  • the hydraulic cylinder 36 could be designed as a double-acting hydraulic cylinder.
  • At least one tension spring (not shown) can then be connected in parallel to the hydraulic cylinder for returning the pressure ring 5 to the rest position.
  • the required hydraulic pump 41 can also be arranged at the same axis as this.
  • the control of the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic cylinder is not shown separately, since various technical options are available for this.
  • sliding pieces 44 are advantageously used between the outer boundary 42 of the support rings 12, 13 and the supporting regions 43 of the pressure ring.
  • These sliding pieces 44 consist of a sliding section 45 adapted to the cylindrical outer surface 42 of the support rings 12, 13 and a web 46 protruding at right angles thereto in the direction of the pressure ring 5.
  • This web 46 engages in a supported area 43 of the pressure ring 5.
  • an incision 48 is provided at corresponding points on the bearing pin 9, in which the free end portion of the projecting web 46 engages. This not only ensures the position of the bearing pin 9, but also captive mounting of the slider 44 itself, so that these sliders 44 always remain in the required position between the pressure ring 5 and the support rings 12, 13.
  • sliders 44 can be made from a stock material, but advantageously made from plastic.
  • Both support rings 12 and 13 have a central opening 50 and 51, respectively, in order to be able to pass the workpieces to be pressed through the radial press without hindrance.
  • At least one of the support rings 12 has a central opening 50 with a diameter which enables the pressing jaws 3 to be displaced parallel to the axis, in order thereby to be able to carry out a simple and rapid exchange of the pressing jaws 3.
  • the boundary of the opening 50 in the support ring 12 has a stop collar 52 on which a corresponding stop collar 56 of an insertable retaining ring 57 is supported. The locking ring 57 then causes the pressing jaws 3 to be secured against displacement in the longitudinal direction thereof.
  • FIGS. 1, 2 and 8 Another possibility is shown in particular in FIGS. 1, 2 and 8.
  • protruding lugs 59, 59 are fastened in this central opening 50, which, for example, carry spring-loaded bolts 16 or balls.
  • lugs 59 can be part of the machine frame 35.
  • the locking ring has incisions 61 at points corresponding to the lugs 58 and 59, so that the locking ring 57 can be pushed backwards against the stop on the support ring 12 via the lugs 58 and 59 protruding into the openings 50.
  • the spring-loaded bolts 60 or corresponding spring-loaded balls which are provided on the projecting lugs 58 and 59, can then snap into recesses provided laterally next to the incisions 61 in the locking ring 57.
  • a positive and non-positive mounting of the locking ring 57 is therefore ensured, the locking ring 57 can nevertheless be removed quickly if required.
  • the individual parts of the radial press according to the present invention for example the plate 6 of the plunger 2, the tabs 7 and toggle lever 4, the individual plate 26 and 27 of the guide blocks 11 and with the corresponding production of the pressure ring 5 from stamped parts, can expediently from a corresponding Hardened steel are manufactured, steel alloys can also be used depending on the needs and requirements for strength and the mutual sliding properties.
  • Fig. 10 another embodiment is shown schematically, from which it can be seen that a very simple and exact determination of the crushing mass is also possible through the construction according to the invention.
  • An exact measurement is possible on two diametrically opposed plungers, so that a constant pressing process can be maintained.
  • Two corresponding measuring points are therefore provided on two plungers located opposite one another.
  • the two plungers 2 have measuring pins 70 and 71 in the area of the solid body formed by platelets 6 and intermediate layers 21, which cooperate with a measuring device 72 and, if appropriate, a switching device.
  • a switch-off process for the radial press can thus also be connected to the measuring process.
  • a very advantageous embodiment of such an arrangement is obtained when tape spring parts 73 and 74 act on the two measuring bolts 70 and 71, which are guided displaceably in guide grooves 75 and 76 on a support ring 12.
  • the free ends of these band spring parts 73 and 74 then engage the measuring device 72.
  • bolts 77 and 78 can be guided through the support ring 12 into the corresponding elongated holes 79, on which the connecting elements 80, 81 then engage to the measuring device 72. So that these band spring parts 73, 74 cannot vibrate and a constant measurement is always guaranteed, a tension spring 90 can additionally be used effectively between the two bolts 77 and 78.
  • the measuring device 72 is expediently designed as a linear distance meter, in order thereby to achieve an exact measurement. This measuring device 72 is then connected to the free ends (bolts 77 and 78) of the band spring parts 73 and 74 which lie approximately parallel to one another.
