Abstract

Für einen störungsfreien Ablauf des Gießprozesses beim konti­ nuierlichen Stranggießen werden möglichst genaue Angaben über die Lage und Ausdehnung der Erstarrungsfront (9) innerhalb der von einem elektromagnetischen Wanderfeld umgebenen Stranggießko­ kille (1) benötigt.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zur Überwachung des Erstar­ rungsvorgangs verwendet die Signale von mindestens zwei kon­ zentrisch um die Stranggießkokille (1) angeordneten Sensorspulen (8), die einem Meßumformer zugeführt und in geeigneter Weise ver­ arbeitet werden. Besonders bevorzugt ist die Anordnung der Sensorspulen (8) innerhalb der das Wanderfeld erzeugenden Levi­ tationsspule (6).
