Definitions
- the invention relates to a process for the aftertreatment of chlorinated by means of at least one organic solvent, for example and in particular perchlorethylene (in practice also called "Per" for short)
- finishing If there is talk of a "post-treatment" of chemically cleaned items of clothing before or after, then this is therefore one (also to be referred to as finishing)
- DE-OS 21 46 945 The subject of DE-OS 21 46 945 is based on the fact that in the prior art known at the time
- DE-OS 21 46 945 for larger cleaning systems
- perchlorethylene tetrachlorethylene
- R 113 has become known as a further problem that it belongs to the halogenated hydrocarbons (CFCs), who are seriously suspected of being responsible for the
- DE-OS 21 46 945 neither a method nor a device (particularly suitable for small cleaning companies such as so-called shop cleaning) can be found , by means of which the problem outlined above can be solved.
- the moisture is brought to a desired level.
- the items of clothing which still have a certain residual moisture are mechanically smoothed by uniformly blowing their surface over a comparatively shorter time interval, and then they are then subjected to steam and hot air, for which purpose in a steam chamber (the) to carry out the known from US-PS 43 91 602
- the device also has one for this purpose
- Inlet openings are provided (the drying chamber contains nozzles for the entry of hot air).
- the underlying proposal runs solely on a gas-tight connection to the treatment chamber, consisting of several provided with means of transport for the textile goods and through
- Locks consisting of chambers separated from each other existing chamber arrangement, wherein of the chambers of this chamber arrangement at least one chamber (which is neither the first nor the last chamber passed through by the textile material) is provided with a nozzle arrangement for blowing heated gas through the textile material, and furthermore the first the chamber through which the textile material to be treated is designed as a ventilation chamber and the chamber through which the textile material last passed is designed as a compensation chamber, in which an additional heating is provided. Because even this multi-chamber continuous process does not lead to the necessary or, according to the invention, the intended disposal of the previously chemically cleaned items of clothing to a practically zero residue content that as such is negligible.
- the present invention is accordingly based on the object of improving the method of the type described in the introduction while avoiding its disadvantages or imperfections, in particular in that previously chemically cleaned
- Garments (or other textiles) preferably
- a device is to be created for carrying out the method according to the invention, by means of which the method according to the invention can be practiced not only in large chemical cleaning operations, but in particular also in a small space, as is regularly the case in
- shop cleaning is now only available, i.e. a device that can still be described as cabinet-shaped in terms of its dimensions and that is able to hold the textile content of a full conventional cleaning drum (i.e. about 10 to 20 outer garments) , and despite this dimensioning which is considerably smaller than that of known devices of comparable type, the above-described intensive solvent disposal of the previously chemically cleaned one Garments should be achievable, in one
- the invention provides that the items of clothing to be treated or the like. with the intended steam and possibly air exposure, which takes place in a manner known per se, essentially only from above and / or from the side, to a considerable negative pressure, which is preferably at least about 600 mm WS, most preferably about 1000 mm WS , and that the solvent-containing evaporation and possibly
- Exhaust air stream is sucked out below the clothes in a conventional manner and then disposed of by solvents.
- the method according to the invention has created a possibility of disposing of chemically cleaned items of clothing apart from an insignificant residual solvent content from the items of clothing, and not just in huge large systems, but even in cabinet-like small systems, as they can easily be accommodated in shop cleaning.
- the heating temperature could be lower, but such a long treatment time usually seems unacceptable.
- the method according to the invention can be improved further by causing the items of clothing to vibrate (at least temporarily) during their aftertreatment.
- a vibration of items of clothing to be cleaned for the cleaning process is known from US Pat. No. 2,845,786, but not with regard to the aftertreatment discussed here or in the foreground.
- Garments at a negative pressure of approx. 1 m water pressure with heating to approx. 50 to 80 ° C, preferably at intervals with steam and at intervals from above and to the side with preferably preheated air, so that they are are also at least temporarily vibrated, and that the solvent-containing exhaust and exhaust air stream is then sucked off underneath the clothing and then disposed of by solvent to also i.ü. come to a highly environmentally friendly overall solution.
- the solution of the device-related part of the above task consists in a generic device - that is, in a device with an essentially cabinet-shaped housing, a steam generator or a connection for an external steam source, with steam inlet nozzles, with a
- the suction opening (s) is followed by a disposal device, by means of which the solvent contained in the exhaust steam or the outlet is to be disposed of, the disposal device preferably having at least one, for example, in the manner of an activated carbon filter or the like. can have trained filter.
- cabinet-shaped housing 1 'of the aftertreatment device 1 in the illustrated embodiment so large that it can hold about 15 items of clothing 2 (in a hanging arrangement), that is to say the contents of a conventional cleaning drum, as is customary in shop cleaning.
- Housing 1 ' is - above a clothes rail 4, on which the clothes 2 each hang by means of a clothes hanger 3 - a steam generator, not shown in detail.
- the steam generator 5 generates superheated steam, which is directed through the evenly distributed on its underside over the length L, in the drawing accordingly not recognizable nozzles in the direction of the arrows 6 from above onto the clothing pieces 2.
- the nozzles 6 form a plurality of parallel rows, so that the clothing 2 is subjected to steam at least essentially over its entire width B.
- further nozzles 5 ' can be present in at least one side wall of the device 1 (more precisely its housing 1'), by means of which the items of clothing 2 - preferably from both sides if necessary - are to be subjected to steam during the aftertreatment.
- one side wall 18 has broken away for the sake of clarity, but that the housing 1 'is of course completely closed during operation.
- the items of clothing 2 are therefore subjected to steam according to the arrows 8 (on both sides, however).
- air nozzles 19 are provided, the air nozzles present in the side wall 17 in the exemplary embodiment shown being each represented as a cross for better clarity .
- the air nozzles 19 are connected to a (hot) air line 20, which is fed by an external hot air source, the control being such that steam through the steam nozzles 5 ′ and air through the nozzles 19 simultaneously into the interior of the device 1 can be conducted or alternately.
- the clothes rail 4 is in operative connection with a vibrator 7, which can be designed, for example, as an unbalance vibrator or as an electromagnetic magnet vibrator and can set the clothes rail 4 in vibration in order to ultimately transmit vibrations to the items of clothing 2 to be treated.
- the hooks 3 'of the clothes hanger 3 with clamping caps 21 or the like. be more intimately connected to the clothes rail 4 in order to keep the vibration effect impressed on the clothes 2 as intensely as possible.
- the housing 1 ' is connected via a connector 22 to a vacuum source, not shown, the connector 22 for the vacuum source is conveniently located in the upper part of the housing 1', around the vacuum source, which is connected to a solvent disposal device, as little solvent as possible feed. I.ü. is in one at the lower end of the
- Device 1 provided disposal chamber 10
- Suction blower 11 by means of which the solvent-enriched exhaust steam / the solvent-enriched exhaust air is sucked off through openings 16 on the top of the disposal chamber 10, the one entering the disposal chamber 10
- Exhaust steam is at least partially condensed there and the condensate is fed to a condensate container, not shown in detail. I.ü.
- the exhaust steam then passes through an activated carbon filter 12 into a discharge pipe 13 and is fed from there to a heat recovery device, not shown.
- the suction blower 11 also form the vacuum source for the device 1 or its interior, but in this case it requires a considerably larger dimension, since in the device 1 during the treatment of the items of clothing 2, a vacuum of 1000 mm water is generated, for its Creation and maintenance requires a correspondingly powerful vacuum source.
- Garments 2 open the side wall 18 shown in the drawing only, namely the side wall 18 consists of two wing doors or has wing doors of this type which, when closed, make the device 1 gas-tight (also against the considerable negative pressure of 1 m water pressure) close
- the inside of the device 1 is connected to the connecting piece 22 with a negative pressure of approx.
- the steam flow is then throttled or switched off and hot air is introduced into the device from above and from the sides through the air nozzles 19, the hot air flow likewise acting on the items of clothing 2.
- An operating temperature of approx. 70 ° C is created and maintained or controlled essentially during the entire aftertreatment, which occurs immediately after the start of operation.
- Exhaust air containing solvents is continuously drawn off through the openings 16 of the disposal chamber 10 and is (are) fed to the filter 12.
- the after-treatment is finished.
- the device is then uncoupled from the vacuum source and care is taken to equalize the pressure.
- the side wall 18 can then be opened to remove the smoothed clothing items 2, which are now practically completely disposed of by solvent, the Ge bladder 11 can still remain in operation, but this is generally no longer necessary, since the residual concentration of solvent in the chamber after the treatment cycle described is practically zero.
