Definitions
- the invention relates to a footwell panel for a table, in particular a desk.
- An object of the invention is therefore seen in creating an improvement here and in particular in creating a retrofittable footwell panel.
- this object is achieved by the measures specified in claim 1.
- the fact that the screen can be hooked in makes it easy to mount, and the at least one engagement element enables easy lateral fixation on at least one table leg.
- the footwell panel is advantageously further developed so that it has a frame in which a cover element is held, this cover element preferably being designed as a perforated plate.
- a particularly preferred embodiment is characterized in that the engagement member has a slide, the free end of which is designed to engage a lower section of a table leg.
- a slide allows adaptation to different table dimensions, be it that there are tolerances in the table size, or that tables of different sizes are to be used, but one does not want to produce a separate footwell panel for each table size.
- the free end of the slide is fork-shaped.
- a form-fitting connection to the table leg is achieved in a very simple manner, regardless of its cross-sectional shape. This avoids visually unsightly holes on the table leg, which one would otherwise have to provide for any egg ngriffsmaschine.
- Each table can be provided with a footwell cover without this possibility appearing to the outside in any way.
- the fork-shaped free end of the slide is expediently designed such that it encloses at most half of a table leg.
- a footwell cover can also be attached to the other side of this table leg in the same way without the fork-shaped ends of the slides interfering with one another.
- the slide is slidably arranged in an element of the frame of the footwell panel. As a result, it practically does not appear to the outside, and you get an elegant arrangement.
- a locking member is also associated with the slide with great advantage. You can lock the slide in a position in which it rests against a table leg with pretension.
- the locking member is preferably designed for direct manual operation, so that no tools are required for assembly or disassembly.
- Fig. 1 shows a table 10 with a table frame. This has table legs 11, of which only two are shown and which are connected at their top by a frame 12. This frame 12 has z. B. the shape of a tube with a rectangular cross-section, as indicated in Fig. 3 with dash-dotted lines. A table top 14 is located above the frame 12 and separated from it by a gap 13. The table 10 stands on a floor 15.
- a footwell panel 20 is shown, which can be retrofitted, d. H. which can be retrofitted to a table 10 and also removed again.
- the footwell cover 20 has a rectangular frame 22 made of square steel tube, and the actual cover element is fastened in this frame 22, here in the form of a perforated plate 23. As shown in FIG. 6, the edges 24 of this perforated plate 23 are bent over and by spot welding welded to the frame 22. Instead of the perforated plate 23 could in the frame 22 z. B. also be attached to a fabric cover, or a cover made of braided material.
- a hook 25 and 26 are welded on the left and right, cf. Fig. 3.
- the hooks 25 and 26 are identical.
- Its upper section 28 has at its free end a downward section 29 which is dimensioned such that it can be passed through the gap 13.
- 3 shows the relative position of the hook 25 to the frame 12 when the hook 25 is hooked onto this frame 12. (The perforated plate 23 is not shown in Fig. 3.)
- footwell cover 20 were only attached at its upper end by means of the hooks 25, 26, but not fixed at the bottom, it would swing back and forth constantly, and the hooks 25, 26 would presumably generate squeaky noises.
- an adjustable engagement member 30, 31 is provided on the lower element of the frame 22 on the left and right, the free end of which can be brought into engagement with the lower end of an adjacent table leg 11. Since the engaging members 30 and 31 are essentially identical, only the engaging member 30 will be described below. Its details are shown in Figs. 4 to 6.
- the engaging member 30 has an elongated slide 35 which widens at its free end to a fork 36, the prongs 37 of which rest against the table leg 11 in the extended state and this enclose to less than half, cf. Fig. 6.
- the slide 35 is guided in the lower square tube of the frame 22 in a longitudinally displaceable manner.
- This lower tube has an elongated hole 40 on its upper side, the edge 24 of the perforated plate 23 having a cutout 41 in the region of this elongated hole 40.
- the slide 35 itself has a thread 43 on its upper side, into which a screw 45 is screwed, the screw head 46 of which is so large that it can be easily turned by hand without tools. If this screw 45 is screwed into the thread 43, its bottom 46 lies with its underside against the top of the lower element of the frame 22 and thereby fixes the slide 35 in the desired position.
- the screw 45 itself, as shown, penetrates the elongated hole 40 and thereby limits the displacement of the slide 35 to the length of the elongated hole 40. This displaceability is indicated in FIG. 4 by the arrow 48.
- the part of the slide 35 guided in the lower element of the frame 22 partly has a square cross-section, while the section projecting from the frame 22 (on the left in FIGS. 4 to 6) has a less large height . This serves to save weight.
- the footwell cover 20 is first hung on the frame 12. Then the engaging members 30 and 31 are pushed out of the frame 22 to the left and to the right until they rest with their fork-shaped ends 36 against the adjacent table leg 11, preferably with prestress. Then the screw 45 (and the corresponding screw, not shown on the right side of the footwell cover 20) is tightened, so that the engagement members 30, 31 are fixed in this position. The footwell cover 20 is then fixed to the table 10 and cannot wobble or squeak.
- the engagement members 30, 31 are first pushed back into the frame 22, and then the footwell cover 20 is removed.
