Definitions

  • the invention relates to a folding frame with X-shaped crossed, scissor-like connected, adjustable legs, which on the underside of a device to be supported - such as e.g. Table top, tool box, other containers, frames or the like. - Arranged and connected with their upper ends to the underside via links that can be placed on the underside, which are pivotally connected to axes on the one hand and to the underside and on the other hand to the legs.
  • Such folding frames are known for example from FR-A-25 66 246 for tables.
  • the handlebars are used to adjust the table top to different heights.
  • the handlebars can assume three different positions, which rest on the underside of the table top. In a first position for a low table height, the ends of the handlebars connected to the legs point in opposite directions. In a second position used to set an average table height, the ends of the handlebars connected to the legs each point in the same direction. A particularly large table height is achieved when the handlebars assume a third position in which their ends connected to the legs face each other.
  • the handlebars cooperate with springs which are arranged in such a way that all of the aforementioned positions of the handlebars are designed as dead center positions, i.e. the springs then try to hold the position set in each case.
  • the object of the invention is now to design a folding frame of the type specified at the outset in such a way that on the one hand good usability and on the other hand good handling, in particular also during transport, are ensured.
  • the legs occupy a non-use position lying on the underside, usable as a transport position, when the handlebar ends with their ends connected to the legs point in opposite directions from each other, and that the handlebars in at least one of the bottom protruding downward, assigned a position of use of the legs, in which the handlebars - when viewed in the direction of the scissors axis - with the associated legs form mutually open angles can be locked.
  • the folding frame according to the invention can be operated in a very simple and clear manner.
  • the device to be supported for example a worktop or a tool box, only needs to be lowered towards the ground after unlocking the locking of the handlebars.
  • the legs automatically lay on the underside of the device to be supported. In order to bring the legs back into the use position, it is sufficient to lift the device to be supported and the legs from the folded non-use position - if necessary after actuating an unlocking device - to let it fall down. The position of use is thus automatically reached.
  • the feet of the legs in their unfolded position of use can have a relatively large distance - when viewed in the direction of the scissors axis.
  • the folding frame can be designed so that the feet of the legs in the folded state of the same - when viewed in the direction of the scissors axis - do not protrude or only slightly beyond the lateral ends of the underside; namely, because the handlebars with the legs form mutually open angles, the upper ends of the legs are moved in the direction of one end of the underside when being folded, while the feet or lower ends of the respective legs approach the other end.
  • a tool box 2 provided at its ends with handles 1 is provided with a folding frame 3, which, in its unfolded position of use, which is shown in FIG. 1, enables the tool box 2 to be raised.
  • the folding frame 3 can be brought into the transport or non-use position shown in FIG. 4, in which the tool box 2 can also be placed or used directly on the floor if required.
  • the folding frame 3 has scissor-like, X-shaped crossed legs 4 and 5, which are each arranged in pairs, such that - cf. also Fig. 5 - one leg 4 is arranged on one long side of the tool box 2 and one leg 4 on the other long side of the tool box 2. The same applies to the legs 5. Otherwise, the legs 4 on the one hand and the legs 5 on the other hand are connected to one another in a frame-like manner.
  • the legs 4 and the legs 5 are articulated to one another by the scissor joint 6.
  • each handlebar 7 are pivotally connected via joints 8.
  • These links 7 are each hinged at their other ends to bearing parts 9 on the underside of the tool box 2, in such a way that that the handlebar 7 with the associated legs 4 and 5 when viewed in the direction of the axis of the scissor joint 6 form angle ⁇ open to each other.
  • the links 7 can thus pivot relative to the legs 4 and 5 and relative to the tool box 2 about joint axes or bearing axes parallel to the axis of the scissors joint 6.
  • levers 11 are pivotally mounted, the free ends of which protrude between two links 7 and are acted upon by springs, not shown, in such a way that the levers 11 are each shown in FIG. 5 from above on the hinge axes 12 of the joints 8 between the legs 4 and 5 and the handlebars 7, respectively.
  • levers 11 are connected to one another in a U-shaped or frame-like manner.
  • an arm 13 is attached to each pair of levers 11, the free end of which can be reached by a human hand encompassing the adjacent handle 1.
  • the folding frame shown works as follows: In the use position of the legs 4 and 5 shown in FIG. 1, the joint axes 12 of the joints 8 are each in accordance with Fig. 5 indented in recesses 14 of the lever 11 so that the legs 4 and 5 are locked in the position of use. If necessary, the hinge axis 12 of the legs 4 can be accommodated on the associated levers 11 in different recesses 14 than the hinge axis 12 on the legs 5, provided that a plurality of recesses 14 are arranged on each of the levers 11. This makes it possible to set up the tool box 2 inclined relative to the ground, ie one end of the tool box 2 has a larger floor clearance than the other end.
  • the tool box 2 is gripped by its handles 1 and raised slightly; at the same time, the arms 13 are pushed away with their thumbs or fingers in the direction of arrow P from the position shown in FIG. 1, so that the levers 11 also pivot and the joint axes 12 of the joints 8 are released from the recesses 14 on the levers 11.
  • the tool box 2 can now be lowered, the legs 4 and 5 successively passing through the positions shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.
  • the arms 13 of the levers 11 can be released.
  • the lower ends of the levers 11 slide over the facing longitudinal edges of the legs 4 and 5 or over sliding surfaces (not shown) arranged on the legs 4 and 5, so that the levers 11 automatically against the underside of the tool box 2 be pivoted.
  • the axis of the scissor joint 6 engages in a spring clip 15 arranged on the underside of the tool box 2.
  • the folding frame is subsequently to be brought back into its position of use according to FIG. 1, it suffices to lift the box 2 by its handles 1 and to press something with the fingers on the feet of the legs 4 and 5 protruding from the ends of the box 2, until the axis of the scissor joint 6 disengages from the spring (15). Then the legs 4 and 5 fall into their position of use, which is automatically locked by the spring-loaded lever 11 or the interaction of the recesses 14 on the levers 11 with the joint axes 12 of the joints 8.
  • toggle lever arrangements can also be provided, which are arranged between the bearing parts 10 and the joints 8 or their articulated axes 12, ie the joints 8 or their articulated axes 12 are made with the toggle lever arrangements the bearing parts 10 connected.
  • the above-mentioned toggle lever arrangements are designed such that they assume an over-center position in their extended position, ie when they connect the joints 8 or their joint axes 12 and the bearing parts 10 in a substantially straight line in the view shown in FIG. 1, which are stable against thrust forces is. So that the position of use of the folding frame 3 is also secured stably.
  • rollers can be arranged on the feet of the legs in order to be able to move the tool box 2 easily, possibly in the manner of a wheelbarrow.
  • the links 7 have a pivoting range limited by stops 16 in the downward direction, ie the links 7 can only be pivoted in the downward direction up to a predetermined end position.
  • the handlebars 7 are approximately vertical in this end position relative to the underside of the tool box 2 - or also to the underside of a platform or the like supported by the folding frame 3, which can also be designed in the manner of a frame .
  • levers 17 are used, the right ends of which in FIGS. 6 and 7 at the joints 8 between the legs 4 and the associated links 7 - or also near these joints 8 at the upper ends of the legs 4 and the lower ends of the associated link 7 - are articulated and at their left ends in FIGS. 6 and 7 hook-like projections or downwardly open recesses 18 are arranged, which in the example shown cooperate with the joint axis of the joints 8 between the legs 5 and the associated links 7 .
  • the levers 17 are expediently like the legs 4 and 8 or the like on both longitudinal sides of the folding frame 3 or the box 2. arranged and close to their left in Figs. 6 and 7 ends firmly connected by a crossbar, such that the levers 17 can only be pivoted together.
  • At least one of the levers 17 is dimensioned sufficiently long such that it can be easily gripped for unlocking and raised in the direction of the arrow E.
  • levers 17 can be inadvertently raised briefly, they can subsequently lock the collapsing folding frame 3 again in the half-height position of use when it falls down.
  • levers 17 can be provided to arrange springs, not shown, which push the levers 17 downward in addition to gravity.
  • sliding surfaces 19 are expediently arranged, on which the left ends of the levers 17 in FIGS. 6 and 7 rest when the folding frame 3 is completely folded together.
  • the left lever ends can pivot under the plane of the legs 5 when the frame 3 is folded. 6 and 7, the right-hand arm 7 in its lower ends pivot to the right, the levers 17 also being shifted accordingly to the right.
  • the sliding surfaces 19 With correspondingly short levers 17, the case may arise that the free ends of the levers 17 no longer rest on the axis of the joints 8 between the legs 5 and the links 7 from above. In this case, these ends are then supported by the sliding surfaces 19 mentioned.
  • the sliding surfaces 19 serve to guide the levers 17 into the locking position provided for locking the position of use of the frame 3.
  • rollers or feet 20 are expediently arranged in all embodiments such that the sides of the legs 4 and 5 pointing to the floor and the underside of the box 2 or the like. Even when the frame 3 is completely folded, still have a sufficient ground clearance which is greater than the height of a human foot placed on the ground in the area of the toes or instep. In this way it is prevented that with unskillful handling of the folding frame 3 frame parts or the boxes supported by the frame or the like. can be placed hard on the foot.
