Definitions

  • the invention relates to an automatic cutting machine with a feed table, for trimming the paper webs output by a plotter by means of longitudinal and cross cutters.
  • the object to be achieved by the invention is to feed the paper web sections output from a plotter to the cutting elements, avoiding manual intervention, and to remove the residual waste from the preceding paper web end in order to avoid malfunctions.
  • a residual waste switch is arranged in front of the cross cutter and two light barriers or sensors, which are connected upstream of this residual waste switch and are arranged one behind the other in the path of movement of the paper web, are connected to an electrical control device which controls the switch position.
  • the drawings or the like. are continuously transferred to plain paper by electrostatic means, the paper web 2 preferably having a width which is somewhat wider than standard format A0.
  • a transport table 5 bridging the gap, over which the paper web 2 is guided.
  • This contains a support plate 6 with a plurality of mutually parallel conveyor belts 7 running in the longitudinal direction of the table, which are wound around deflection rollers 8.
  • a drive roller 9 Close to the inlet funnel 3 to the transport table there is a drive roller 9 arranged above the conveyor belts 7.
  • This drive roller 9 - which could optionally also be arranged below the paper web - is driven independently of the conveyor belts 7 at exactly the speed at which the paper web 2 runs out of the plotter 1.
  • a light barrier 10 or a sensor which scans the front edge of an incoming paper web 2.
  • the light barrier 10 is connected to an electronic control device.
  • Another light barrier 12 or a sensor is located close to the opposite end of the transport table 5.
  • a reading head 14 on the underside of the paper web 2, which reads the edge codes - in the form of bars or bars - on the underside of the paper and to the control device forwards. These edge encodings subsequently control the optional use of the cross and longitudinal cutters.
  • a pressure roller 15 of the automatic cutting machine 4 located on the top of the paper in front of the cross cutter 19 serves to hold the incoming paper web 2 or to hold the previously cut off remaining piece. In front of this pressure roller 15, a paper hump or a loop can form on the transport table 5 when the paper web is stopped in front of the cross cutter 19.
  • a residual waste switch 16 is used to control the residual waste in the direction of arrow C. This switch is actuated by an electromagnet 18. The residual waste lies below a bracket 13 connected to the switch 16, which thus deflects the residual waste downward after the last cross section of the preceding paper web section.
  • An electrical clock generator 21 is connected to the drive wheel 8 and outputs signals to a control device depending on the feed movement of the paper web 2 in the direction of the arrow D.
  • the paper web 2 not deflected by the residual waste switch 16 arrives at a cross cutter 19 which leaves a knife shaft 20 is formed with a rotary cutting knife 21 rotating thereon and a counter knife 22 rigidly held on a stationary holder 28.
  • the knife shaft 20 rotates in the direction of arrow B as soon as a corresponding control command from the control device takes place. If a cross section is to be carried out, the control device engages a conventional engaging and disengaging clutch.
  • This cross cutter 19 extends over the entire width of the paper web 2 and causes when the knife shaft 20 rotates, the execution of a continuous cross section.
  • an optionally operable second switch 23 With which it can be caused that a strip-shaped waste intermediate piece cut off from the cross cutter 19 between two successive drawings - which should not be fed to the subsequent longitudinal cutting device - in the direction of the Arrow K is discharged.
  • An electromagnet 43 with a tie rod 45 is provided for pivoting the second switch 23 which is wedge-shaped in cross-section and extends over the entire width of the paper web 2. This interacts with a lever arm 47 which is pivotable about a shaft 51.
  • the electromagnet 43 picks up the tie rod 45 moves downward against the force of a return spring 53, as a result of which the pointed nose of the switch 23 moves upward. This has the effect that the paper intermediate piece separated from the cross cutter 19 is deflected downward in the direction of the arrow K.
  • the non-redirected paper sections or the like or the drawings. contained, then reach the slitter 56.
  • Several slitter units optionally used are distributed over the width of the paper web.
  • Each of these longitudinal cutting devices contains an upper circular knife 36 and a lower circular knife 46, which interact with one another in a cutting gap.
  • the cross cutter 19 is driven by a drive belt 39, which is preferably designed as a toothed belt and is connected to a drive motor, not shown in detail.
  • the drive belt 39 is also guided over the shaft 60 of the lower cutting knife 46, from which the rotary movement is transmitted to the pressure rollers 24, 25 via a further toothed belt.
  • the different shafts are supported at both ends in side walls 27. The mode of action is as follows:
  • the drawings or the like running out of the laser printer 1, contained on a wide paper web 2 or the like. are located on the underside of the web, as are the edge codes required to control the longitudinal and cross-sections.
  • the paper web 2 initially covers the light barrier 10.
  • the paper web is driven by the drive roller 9 at a speed identical to the printer run-out speed.
  • the paper web then covers the light barrier 12.
  • the residual waste switch 16 moves into its closed position, ie there is no deflection in the direction of arrow C.
  • the cross sections and longitudinal sections are then made in the manner described carried out, according to the coding printed by the plotter on the edge of the paper web, as explained in detail in EP-A-0236275.
  • the paper web 2 has a residual waste lying in front of the cross cutter 19, which for the time being is not conveyed any further. If the front edge of a new paper web 2 now runs into the inlet funnel 3, the light barrier 10 is initially covered, the drive roller 9 and the transport belts 7 and 29 are set in motion via the control device. Since at the same time the light barrier 12 is not yet covered by the newly arriving paper web 2, the control device causes the residual waste switch 16 to be opened, that is to say it assumes its deflection position. Since the pressure rollers 15, 17 are now driven, the residual waste lying in front of the cross cutter is discharged through the open switch 16 in the direction of arrow C.
  • this piece of waste is deflected downward together with the tilting movement of the switch tip.
  • this causes the control device to pivot the residual waste switch 16 back into the starting position, in which no deflection takes place.
  • the paper web 2 then runs over the closed switch 16 and is trimmed due to the edge coding by longitudinal and cross-sections, the waste being discharged through the switches 23 and 62.
  • the rectangularly trimmed drawings then arrive on an output table 48 or subsequently in a folding device.
