Abstract
Pour le traitement métallurgique d'un bain de fusion (1) dans un récipient de fusion et d'affinage métallurgique (3), des additifs coulants (43), en particulier de la chaux, dans un état allant de granuleux à pulvérulent, sont apportés, au moins pendant une partie de la phase de raffinage, à la zone supérieure de la face interne (15') de la paroi du récipient (11), répartis sur la circonférence. Les additifs (43) forment sur la paroi du récipient (11) une couche isolante et protectrice permettant de réduire les pertes d'énergie et de prolonger la durée de vie du récipient (3).
