Abstract

The present invention concerns an ovoid container for condiments. It consists of two combined concave elements (1, 2) assembled so as to form an egg-shaped container, preferably made of thin, possibly transparent plastic material or an edible material. One of the elements, forming the cover (1) comprises an annular groove which is mounted with a force fit on the other element's (2) equally annular rib (2) so as to seal the container obtained in this manner for the purpose of preserving the condiments, whereby the latter can be enclosed in bags which prevent the evaporation of aroma and the penetration of humidity. Each of the two concave elements may comprise a sealed cap (5, 6) and contain a different condiment, the cap of the cover-forming element being set back in order for the two elements to be assembled. The bottoms of two of the above-mentioned elements may be interlocked so as to form an egg-cup, whereby the cover acts as a base. Said assembling means may consist of the force fitting of at least one stub (7) into at least one space or else associating a circular groove which can be clipped onto a rib provided on the bottom of the other element. It is designed to contain condiments for egg-based dishes or any other food and is characterized in that it can be transformed into an egg-cup. In view of its forms and dimensions which are identical to those of hen's eggs, the invention could perhaps find its place in a container for packing said eggs.

Claims (3)

  1. Ovoidal packaging for condiments comprising two concave parts (1, 2) capable of being assembled to form an egg-shaped closed recipient and provided with means for separating the bottoms of the said parts to form an egg cup, the cover (1) forming the base,
       characterized in that the two concave parts (1, 2) are preferably manufactured from thin plastic material, the upper element forming the cover (1) having an annular groove (3) which can be forceably inserted in a swelling which is similarly annular in the other part (2), the said concave parts being provided with a sealed capsule (5, 6) so that each one can hold a different condiment, and able to be assembled so as to form an egg-shaped recipient with shapes and dimensions identical to those of standard chicken eggs so that they can be placed on any type of egg packaging without the latter undergoing any alteration, so as to make possible mechanisation of packaging on production lines, the recipient thus obtained being sufficiently sealed to preserve the condiments, a means comprising at least one nipple (7) or bulge forming part of the concave parts (1) being forceably inserted in at least one corresponding depression provided in the other element (2), allowing these two elements to be joined to form an egg cup.
  2. Device as per claim 1 characterized by the material used to manufacture the parts (1, 2) of the recipient being transparent.
  3. Device as per any one of the aforesaid claims, characterized by the condiments contained in the ovoidal packaging being enclosed in bags to prevent dissipation of the aroma.
