Thus, provision can be made for the lower layer 71 to consist of an alloy of a copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride, and of an elastomer for example. In the type of fillers which may be suitable, mention may be made of green balls, green fiber, carbon fiber or the like.
  • This copolymer has very good adhesion capacities with the upper layer 72.
  • the polyamide which constitutes the latter is preferably chosen from polyamides 11. It is transparent, rigid and has good resistance to external conditions. It is, on the other hand, easily sublimable.

  • the polymer layer 71 can extend laterally beyond the reinforcement by adhering to other elements, such as binders, edges, or the like.
  • the assembly step may preferably include an actual molding phase during which the various elements are subjected to high pressures and temperatures. Adhesion is particularly effective when the upper reinforcement layer consists of a textile sheet pre-impregnated with a resin matrix thermosetting, not fully crosslinked, or a matrix of thermoplastic resin.
  • Epoxy, polyester, or polyurethane resin matrices generally give the best results when used with a copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride, modified or not. It is the molding operation which makes it possible to reactivate the final crosslinking and to cause adhesion in the case of a matrix of thermosetting resin.
  • the implementation of the molding operation can be different depending on the process; an example of a process for manufacturing a ski, the core of which is injected, is described in patent No. 89 15664 of the applicant.
