- US Pat. No. 4,015,708 discloses a folding box as a packaging element for air / zinc cells. This contains a carrier made of cardboard with circular recesses for receiving the button cells, which are glued to the bottom of a foil cover of the carrier on the underside.

- the air inlet openings 7 present in the cell bottoms are sealed airtight by means of a second film 8, with which the cells are underlaid and to which the cells are glued.
- This film thus represents a peel-off and sealing film common to all cells. For this purpose it is coated on the top with an adhesive to which the cells adhere.
- the peel-off film 8 accordingly extends to below the bottoms of the cells and thus all the way into the regions of the carrier 2 through which the cells 6 can be pushed.
- the outline of the peel-off film therefore resembles a rosette with a number of tongues corresponding to the number of cells on which the button cells 6 are seated.
- the blister 4, 5 with the cup openings facing upwards, and the peel-off film is stuck onto the cell bottoms and onto the blister. Then the box is sealed.
- the sealing wax applied to the cardboard while leaving out the removal areas for the cells also results in a firm connection between the cardboard and the release film.

- the underside of the peel-off film 8 is also detected, but the firm adhesive connection of the film to the cardboard is limited to the central area between the cup-shaped features 5.
- the film 8 rests freely on the carrier in those areas of the cardboard carrier 2 which are covered by the cup-shaped features 5 of the plastic film 4 and which have to be pushed through to remove the cells. These are their tongue-shaped sections adhering to the cell bottoms.
- the carton carrier 2 is provided in these areas with perforations 10, 11 (see FIG. 3) which are adapted to the cell shape.
- the perforations are supplemented by cutouts 12 in the cardboard carrier. These make it easier for the cardboard to break away when the cell is pushed through the break line 11 in the perforation area.
- the cell initially remains adhering to the film 8. It can then be easily removed from the film, while this remains on the carrier as an integral part of the packaging.
- FIG. 3 which shows the underside of the sales packaging in a top view, shows the perforations as lines 10.
- the mentioned recesses 12 in the cardboard carrier form narrow windows with a lenticular outline. Edge openings of the cells or of the tongue sections of the label film 8 adhering to their bottoms are visible through these openings. As can be seen from FIG. 2, these tongue sections are kept free of the adhesive layer on their underside. Contamination of the fingers during the detachment of the cell 6 from the film 8 is thus excluded.
- the new sales package enables uncomplicated and always correct removal of the batteries without any effort. It ensures that the batteries stay fresh even when stored for a long time and is also environmentally friendly.
