Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Reinigen von Metalloberflächen mittels wäßriger alkalischer, silikat- und tensidhaltiger Reinigungslösungen und unter Kreislaufführung der Reinigungslösung über eine Ultrafiltration.
  • Es ist bekannt, zur Entfettung und Reinigung von Metalloberflächen im Tauch- und Spritzverfahren alkalisch reagierende Produkte einzusetzen, die aus einer oder mehreren alkalisch reagierenden Komponenten, wie Borax, Natriummetasilikat, tertiärem Natriumphosphat, Natriumpyro- und -polyphosphat, Natriumcarbonat und Natriumhydroxid sowie den entsprechenden Kaliumverbindungen, zusammengesetzt sind und in der handelsüblichen Form je nach den Ausgangsprodukten einen verschiedenen Wassergehalt aufweisen. Der Anteil der Hauptkomponenten bzw. Gerüstsubstanzen richtet sich im besonderen nach der Art der Verschmutzung, der gewünschten Basizität und der Aggressivität auf das Reinigungsgut. Ein Teil dieser Reinigungsmittel enthält noch anteilmäßig geringe Zusätze an organischen oberflächenaktiven Stoffen, wie ionische oder nichtionische Tenside und Seifen (DE-AS 10 74 357). Bekannte alkalische Reiniger bestehen beispielsweise aus einer wäßrigen Lösung von Mischungen aus Natriummetasilikat, Natriumcarbonat, Natriumhydroxid und Dodecylbenzolsulfonat oder auch aus Natriumpyrophosphat, Natriumpolyphosphat, Natriumtetraborat, Natriumcarbonat und Dodecylbenzolsulfonat (EP-A-0 372 601, DE-OS 38 43 148).
  • Es ist ferner aus "Chem.-Ing.-Tech." 51 (1979), S. 662-664, bekannt, in der metallverarbeitenden Industrie die Ultrafiltration z.B. für die Regenerierung von Reiniger-Emulsionen einzusetzen. Wäßrige Reinigerlösungen werden im pH-Bereich von 4 bis 13 und bei Temperaturen bis zu etwa 95°C zur Entfernung von Öl, Fett, Schmutz und Metallabrieb angewendet. Die belasteten Reiniger-Emulsionen müssen von Zeit zu Zeit erneuert werden. Dies ist einerseits mit einem Verlust von noch verwertbaren Stoffen und andererseits mit einer erheblichen Abwasserbelastung verbunden. Die Regenerierung von Reiniger-Emulsionen durch die Ultrafiltration führt zu einer wesentlichen Verlängerung der Gebrauchsfähigkeit der Reinigerlösungen und zu einer erheblichen Reduzierung der Abwassermenge.
  • Die Regenerierung der Reinigungsbäder mit Hilfe der Ultrafiltrationstechnik erfolgt üblicherweise derart, daß das bei der eigentlichen Ultrafiltration anfallende ölreiche Retentat in einen Kreislauf-Behälter geleitet wird, während das ölfreie Permeat in das Reinigungsbad zurückgeführt wird. Der Kreislauf-Behälter wird aus dem Reinigungsbad gespeist. Man ultrafiltriert bis zu einer Ölkonzentration von 10 bis 40 % im Retentat, wonach das Retentat - ggf. nach einer weiteren Aufkonzentrierung - z.B. durch Verbrennung entsorgt wird. Da die wesentlichen anorganischen Inhaltstoffe im Permeat verbleiben sowie eine Ölanreicherung etwa um den Faktor 100 erfolgt, wird durch diese Kreislaufführung die Gebrauchsdauer der Reinigungslösung entsprechend verlängert und das Abwasser entlastet.
  • Bei der Ultrafiltration ist die Filterleistung im wesentlichen von der Druckdifferenz vor und hinter der Membran sowie der Temperatur der zu filtrierenden Flüssigkeit abhängig, sowie aber auch in besonderem Maße abhängig von der Anreicherung der zurückgehaltenen Bestandteile vor der Membran.
  • Beim Einsatz der weitverbreiteten silikathaltigen alkalischen Reiniger kommt es häufig zu sogenannten Blockierungen der Membran. Derartige Blockierungen sind durch einen schnellen Abfall des Fluxes (Permeatvolumen pro Zeiteinheit) der Ultrafiltration gekennzeichnet. Die Gründe hierfür konnten noch nicht abschließend geklärt werden. Man hat daher diese Nachteile bisher in Kauf genommen.
  • Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren zum Reinigen von Metalloberflächen mit Hilfe wäßriger alkalischer, silikathaltiger Reinigungslösungen unter gleichzeitiger Nutzung der Ultrafiltrationstechnik bereitzustellen, das die Nachteile bekannter Verfahren nicht aufweist, eine deutlich erhöhte Toleranz gegenüber im Verfahren auftretender Verunreinigungen besitzt und insbesondere länger und wirtschaftlicher betrieben werden kann.
  • Die Aufgabe wird gelöst, indem das Verfahren zum Reinigen von Metalloberflächen mittels wäßriger alkalischer, silikat- und tensidhaltiger Reinigungslösungen und unter Kreislaufführung der Reinigungslösung über eine Ultrafiltration entsprechend der Erfindung in der Weise ausgestaltet wird, daß man die Metalloberflächen mit einer Lösung reinigt, die Natrium- oder Kaliumsilikat der allgemeinen Formel Na₂O · 2SiO₂ · xH₂O bzw. K₂O · 2SiO₂ · xH₂O als einzige Silikatkomponente enthält.
  • Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, daß eine Blockade der Ultrafiltrationsmembran erst nach langem Gebrauch auftritt und eine ganz erhebliche zeitliche Verlängerung des Permeat-Fluxes erzielt wird, bis es zu unwirtschaftlichen Durchtrittsmengen kommt.
  • Die im Rahmen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens eingesetzten Natrium- oder Kaliumsilikate, deren allgemeine Formel sich auch mit (Na₂Si₂O₅)x · yH₂O oder (K₂Si₂O₅)x · yH₂O angeben läßt, sind im Handel als sogenannte Disilikate erhältlich. Ihrer chemischen Konstitution nach handelt es sich dabei um spezielle Blatt- und Schichtsilikate. Sie unterscheiden sich hinsichtlich Feinbau und Eigenschaften wesentlich von den Disilikaten, die das Anion (Si₂O₇)⁶⁻ als Baugruppe enthalten und in den Reinigungslösungen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens nicht verwendet werden.
  • Besonders zweckmäßig ist es, das Silikat als Natriumsalz einzusetzen. Das Natriumsilikat ist als wasserhaltiges amorphes oder als wasserfreies kristallines Produkt bekannt und im Handel erhältlich und kann in beiden Formen in die Reinigungslösung gemäß dem Verfahren der Erfindung eingebracht werden. Derartige Alkalisilikate, wie das im Handel erhältliche Natriumdisilikat, haben ein Molverhältnis SiO₂ zu Na₂O von 2,06 bis 2,14. Handelsübliche, amorphe wasserhaltige Produkte haben etwa die Zusammensetzung 27,5 % Na₂O, 57,0 % SiO₂, 15,5 % H₂O.
  • Handelsübliche Substanzen sind z.B. das amorphe wasserhaltige Produkt "Cupanon DI" der Firma van Baerle, Gernsheim, oder das kristalline "Schichtsilikat SKS-6" der Firma Hoechst AG, Frankfurt.
  • In vorteilhafter Weiterbildung der Erfindung wird das Verfahren bei einem pH-Wert der Reinigungslösung von < 12,0 ausgeführt. Das bedeutet, daß in der Reinigungslösung kein freies Natrium- oder Kaliumhydroxid enthalten ist.
  • Gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform des Verfahrens der Erfindung beträgt die Konzentration an Alkalisilikat (als SiO₂ gerechnet) in der eingesetzten Reinigungslösung 0,1 bis 20 g/l und vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 10 g/l.
  • Um Nachteile beim Ansatz der Reinigungslösung sowie auch bei der Ergänzung von Wasserverlusten, die durch Verdampfen oder Austrag entstehen, zu vermeiden, ist es vorteilhaft, enthärtetes Wasser und insbesondere vollentsalztes Wasser zu verwenden.
  • Die Applikation der Reinigungslösung erfolgt vorzugsweise im Tauchen. Es können jedoch auch andere Anwendungstechniken, wie Spritzen, Fluten oder dergleichen, benutzt werden.
  • Die Reinigungslösung wird normalerweise bei erhöhter Temperatur von über 50°C und bis in der Nähe ihres Kochpunktes angewendet. Temperaturen von etwa 55 bis 70°C sind zweckmäßig.
  • In den nachstehenden Beispielen wird das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren näher und beispielhaft erläutert.
  • Bei der Ausführung der Beispiele wurden verschiedene Reinigungslösungen untersucht, die der Reinigung beölter Tiefziehteile aus Stahlblech (RSt 1405) dienten. Dabei wurde der Permeat-Flux im Vergleich zu Wasser bei 60°C gemessen. Als Blockade der Membran wurde ein Zurückgehen des Fluxes auf 20 % des Wertes für Wasser definiert. Verwendet wurde eine Laboranlage der Firma Eisenmann, Holzgerlingen, mit einer anorganischen Membran des Typs Carbosep(R) mit einer Trenngrenze von 160,00 Dalton, gemessen an Dextran. Als Tensid wurde in allen Beispielen eine Mischung zu gleichen Teilen aus Dodecylbenzolsulfonat (Lutensit(R) ALBN der Firma BASF AG) und Nonylphenolpolyethylenglykolether (Arkopal(R) N 100 der Firma Hoechst AG) verwendet.
  • Beispiel 1 (Vergleichsbeispiel)
  • Zur Herstellung der Reinigungslösung wurden 20 g Natriummetasilikat (Na₂SiO₃·5H₂O) pro Liter Lösung entsprechend ca. 10 g/l SiO₂ in Wasser von 10°dH aufgelöst und 2 g/l Tensid zugegeben. Der pH-Wert der Lösung betrug ca. 13. Die Lösung wurde im Kreislauf ultrafiltriert. Nach ca. 2 h war der Permeat-Flux auf 20 % des Ausgangswertes für Wasser abgefallen.
  • Beispiel 2 (gemäß Erfindung)
  • Es wurde aus wasserfreiem kristallinem Natriumdisilikat Na₂Si₂O₅ (Schichtsilikat SKS-6 der Firma Hoechst AG) eine 20 g/l-Lösung entsprechend ca. 13 g/l SiO₂ in vollentsalztem Wasser aufgelöst und 2 g/l Tensid zugegeben. Der pH-Wert der Lösung betrug ca. 11,5. Die Lösung wurde im Kreislauf ultrafiltriert. Nach 46 h Filtrationsdauer war der Permeat-Flux auf nur 40 % des Ausgangswertes gefallen.
  • Beispiel 3 (Vergleichsbeispiel)
  • Ein festes Reinigerkonzentrat der Zusammensetzung 20 % Na₂SiO₃·5H₂O, 25 % Na₄P₂O₇, 25 % Na₅P₃O₁₀, 15 % NaHCO₃, 10 % Na₂CO₃, 5 % Tensid wurde mit 30 g/l in vollentsalztem Wasser gelöst. Der pH-Wert der Lösung betrug 11,6. Die Lösung wurde im Kreislauf ultrafiltriert. Nach 1,5 h war der Permeat-Flux auf 20 % des Ausgangswertes gesunken.
  • Beispiel 4 (gemäß Erfindung)
  • Ein festes Reinigerkonzentrat der Zusammensetzung 17,3 % Na₂Si₂O₅ (Cupanon DI der Firma van Baerle), 7,0 % NaOH, 15,0 % NaHCO₃, 10,0 % Na₂CO₃, 23,0 % Na₄P₂O₇, 22,7 % Na₅P₃O₁₀, 5,0 % Tensid wurde mit 30 g/l in enthärtetem Wasser gelöst. Der pH-Wert der Lösung betrug 11,6. Die Lösung wurde im Kreislauf ultrafiltriert. Nach ca. 16,7 h war der Permeat-Flux auf 50 % des Ausgangswertes gesunken.
  • Die Beispiele des Verfahrens der Erfindung zeigen, daß bei der Reinigung von Metalloberflächen mit Ultrafiltration der Reinigungslösung eine erhebliche Verlängerung der Gebrauchszeit der Reinigungslösung erzielt wird, wenn als Reinigungslösung eine solche eingesetzt wird, die als einzige Silikatkomponente Disilikat der allgemeinen Formel Na₂O · 2SiO₂ · xH₂O bzw. K₂O · 2SiO₂ · xH₂O enthält.

Claims (4)

  1. Verfahren zum Reinigen von Metalloberflächen mittels wäßriger alkalischer, silikat- und tensidhaltiger Reinigungslösungen und unter Kreislaufführung der Reinigungslösung über eine Ultrafiltration, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Metalloberflächen mit einer Lösung reinigt, die Natrium- oder Kaliumsilikat der allgemeinen Formel Na₂O · 2SiO₂ · xH₂O bzw. K₂O · 2SiO₂ · xH₂O als einzige Silikatkomponente enthält.
  2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Metalloberflächen mit einer Lösung reinigt, die auf einen pH-Wert zwischen 7 und 12 eingestellt ist.
  3. Verfahren nach den Ansprüchen 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Metalloberflächen mit einer Lösung reinigt, die eine Konzentration (als SiO₂ gerechnet) von 0,1 bis 20, vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 10 g Silikat pro Liter enthält.
  4. Verfahren nach den Ansprüchen 1, 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Metalloberflächen mit einer Lösung reinigt, die mit enthärtetem, vorzugsweise vollentsalztem Wasser angesetzt worden ist.
