Definitions

  • the invention relates to a head for cleaning flat surfaces comprising a device for dispensing a cleaning liquid which comprises an injection nozzle connected to a washing means which is located in a head cleaning zone and which is flanked.
  • two friction means comprising brushes distributed on either side of the injection nozzle and arranged substantially transversely to the surface to be cleaned, and a first suction chamber which is connected to a suction pipe and which is disposed near the cleaning zone between a scraper device and the washing means, so as to suck up the liquid and the dirt.
  • the invention relates, more particularly, to a cleaning head comprising a second suction chamber which is arranged symmetrically with respect to the washing means between one of said brushes, and a second scraper device; said brushes and the scraping devices being arranged, on the one hand, symmetrically and parallel to the washing means and, on the other hand, transversely to the direction of work of the head.
  • Such a cleaning head is described in document DE-A-1922651 and comprises a washing means consisting of a foam manufacturing box arranged at a distance from the surface to be cleaned, as well as two suction chambers, one of which rigid edges form a scraping device.
  • a washing means consisting of a foam manufacturing box arranged at a distance from the surface to be cleaned, as well as two suction chambers, one of which rigid edges form a scraping device.
  • a vibrating brush drive member which will act on the foaming product deposited on the surface to be cleaned.
  • This structure is complicated and expensive and does not allow soaking, rubbing and drying in a simple manner flat surface.
  • Document DE-U-8716748 also discloses a cleaning head in which the injection nozzle is arranged in the suction chamber which is flanked by brushes adjacent to flexible lip scraping devices. This arrangement makes it possible to obtain a cleaning of the surfaces by a strong current of water generated in the suction chamber and channeled by the brushes and the lip device, but in return does not make it possible to remove traces of moisture from the as and when movements back and forth from the cleaning head.
  • the invention therefore aims to simplify the known cleaning heads and remedy these drawbacks and, in particular, to provide a cleaning head which is particularly easy to use while being effective and inexpensive.
  • the washing means comprises a permeable body into which the nozzle opens and which consists of a porous absorbent material such as, for example, a sponge, while the scraper devices consist of blades flexible material such as, for example, rubber.
  • the user can carry out in a single operation both a cleaning by application of liquid and a suction of dirt while removing traces of moisture, regardless of the direction of use of the head.
  • Figure 1 is a cross-sectional view of the cleaning head according to the invention
  • Figure 2 is a bottom view of Figure 1, on a different scale.
  • the head for cleaning flat surfaces shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a device 1 for dispensing cleaning liquid which comprises an injection nozzle 2 connected to a washing means 3 located in a cleaning zone 4 of the head.
  • the washing means 3 comprises a permeable body 5 into which opens the nozzle 2 and which consists of a porous absorbent material such as, for example, sponge or foam made of plastic cellular material.
  • the permeable body 5 is flanked by two friction means 6, 7 comprising brushes distributed on either side of it and arranged substantially transversely to the surface to be cleaned (not shown).
  • the liquid distribution device 1 advantageously comprises a diffusion chamber 9 interposed between the injection nozzle 2 and the permeable body 5 so as to distribute the cleaning liquid over the entire extent of the permeable body 5.
  • the cleaning head has two suction chambers 10,11 which are connected to a suction pipe 12 via openings 10 ', 11' made in the head and which are arranged near the cleaning zone 4, so as to aspirate the liquid-dirt mixture.
  • a first chamber 10 is located between a scraper device 13 and a brush 6 of the washing means 3, while a second suction chamber 11 is arranged symmetrically relative to the permeable body 5 between the other brush 7 and a second scraping device 14.
  • the scraping devices 13,14 consist of blades of flexible material such as, for example, rubber, and are arranged substantially transversely to the surface to be cleaned.
  • the brushes 6,7 and the scraping devices 13,14 are arranged, on the one hand, symmetrically and parallel to the permeable body 5 and, on the other hand, transversely to the direction D of work of the head, and s extend almost the entire width of the cleaning head.
  • the cleaning head further comprises a pair of rollers 15 intended to balance the force applied to the head via the pipe 12.
  • the rollers contribute to preventing premature wear of the scraping device and the crushing of the brushes, because only the end of the brushes must be in contact with the surface for good friction.
  • the rollers 15 are arranged in the lateral regions of the cleaning head behind the scraper blade 14 so as to avoid traces of the wheels.
  • the suction pipe 12 is pivotally mounted on the cleaning head, so as to facilitate the operation of the cleaning head by a tube forming a handle (not shown).
  • the operation of the cleaning head according to the invention is particularly simple.
  • the user passes the cleaning head over the surface to be cleaned in a back and forth movement.
  • the injection nozzle 2 sends cleaning liquid to the diffusion chamber 9 which distributes the liquid over the entire extent of the permeable body 5.
  • the permeable body 5 then rubs and soaks the surface, and the back-and-forth movement of the head contributes to dissolving and loosening the dirt.
  • the brushes 6, 7 remove the dirt which adhered more strongly to the surface. Cleaning is therefore more efficient.
  • the liquid-dirt mixture is sucked at the suction chambers 10, 11, since the scraper blades 13, 14 help to keep the liquid under each suction opening 10 ', 11'.
  • suction openings 10 ′, 11 ′, the scraper blades 13,14 and the brushes 6,7 are distributed symmetrically on each side of the permeable body 5 allows the user to proceed, in a single operation, both cleaning and vacuuming, regardless of the direction of direction D of work. Indeed, one of the suction chambers 10 or 11 always passes after the cleaning zone 4, whatever the orientation of the head.
  • the permeable body 5 is itself continuously washed because the renewal in clean cleaning liquid expels the dirty liquid which has been in contact with the surface to be cleaned. The cleaning is therefore done both by the back and forth movements printed by the user and the action of the clean liquid which drives out the dirty liquid.
  • the scraper blades 13,14 As they are chosen slightly longer than the brushes and protrude from the rollers. They bend during the back and forth movement so as to more effectively scrape the surface. Indeed, the scraper blade 13 or 14 which passes after the cleaning zone 4 curves towards the outside of the corresponding suction chamber 10 or 11 so that said chamber 4 is perfectly clear, and the extent of the suction is increased.
