Definitions
- the invention relates to an axially compressible winding carrier for the heat and / or wet treatment of threads and yarns with a cylindrical or truncated cone-shaped jacket surface forming a winding surface, which is determined by coaxially arranged, in cross-section tapering radially outward support rings, which means struts arranged between two adjacent support rings are connected to each other.
- Such a winding carrier can be provided at its two ends with end rings which abut or engage in one another.
- the outer diameter of the engaging collar of one end ring can be adjusted to the outer diameter of the receptacle of the other end ring in such a way that a thread reserve can be accommodated on the collar.
- a thread reserve groove can also be arranged on the collar.
- the object of the present invention is now to design a winding carrier of the type mentioned at the outset such that radial compression of the parts which come into contact with one another is excluded during compression without any difficulties arising in the demoulding of such a winding carrier.
- the end faces of the limit stops work together directly or by means of the active surfaces of an intermediate element. All these Surfaces, however, have no inclination in the radial direction and, at the same time, are interlocked to prevent displacement in the circumferential direction. Overall, relative movements of the parts engaging with one another are thus reliably prevented.
- the number and the total area of the end faces and active areas is very small in relation to the total area of the flanks of the support rings and thus has practically no influence on the demouldability.
- the limit stops which only take effect towards the end of the compression, have only a correspondingly small axial extent and can therefore be designed to be dimensionally stable without further notice and thus additionally help to avoid undesirable deformations.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed such that the end faces of the limit stops and the active surfaces of the intermediate elements are convexly or concavely curved about a radial beam running centrally to them. This enables a secure interlocking and insertion.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the radius of the convex curvature is greater than that of the concave curvature. In this way, the stability of the engagement between the cooperating surfaces can be promoted.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the support rings are rigid and the struts are flexible.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the struts are inclined to an axially parallel surface line and each carry an intermediate element in its central region. When the struts are deformed, the intermediate element moves into the engagement area of the limit stops.
- the individual effective parts can be made particularly small, since they only need to keep the required gap open at maximum compression.
- each intermediate element has two convex active surfaces, each of which is adapted to a concave end face of a limit stop.
- the intermediate element engages in the end faces of two limit stops and is securely fixed in these.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed such that the support rings are deformable in the axial direction and the struts are rigid and axially directed and equidistantly arranged in the circumferential direction, the struts acting on both sides of a support ring being offset by half a pitch and the limit stops in the circumferential direction are arranged in the middle between two struts.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the radial extent of the end faces and the active surfaces is less than that of the support rings. It is thereby achieved that the cooperation of the end surfaces and the active surfaces does not take place in the winding surface, but instead is offset radially inwards. In this way, a gap is always kept free in the area of the winding surface between adjacent support rings, so that pinching of the threads or yarns is avoided.
- the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the radial extent of the support rings is the same as that of the struts. This creates an overall larger contact surface for the package and thus reduces the surface pressure of the package which is relevant for some applications.
- the winding support according to the invention can finally be designed so that the end faces, the active surfaces, the struts and the support rings lie on a common inner envelope surface. In this way, the design of the core required for the injection mold is considerably simplified.
- the end ring 3 has coaxial support rings 1 and two end rings 2, 3 arranged parallel to one another.
- the end ring 3 has a collar 4 with a thread reserve groove 5.
- the collar 4 fits into a receptacle 6 of the other end ring 2 of the same winding carrier adjacent in the heat or wet treatment.
- the end rings 2, 3 are connected to the closest support ring 1 via axially extending support struts 7, 8. Between two supporting rings 1 there are struts 9. Each strut 9 is assigned to each other in such a way that they result in a circular or tubular configuration. The support rings 1 and the struts 9 have the same radial strength. These elements together form the outer surface of the winding carrier and consequently also lie on a common inner envelope surface 10.
- the struts 9 are distributed equidistantly over the circumference of the winding carrier.
- limit stops 11, 12 are provided on each support ring 1, projecting from the respective support ring 1 in the direction of the axially adjacent support ring 1 and being aligned with a limit stop provided there.
- the limit stops 11 have a convex end face 13, while the limit stops 12 have a concave end face 14.
- the end faces 13, 14 fit into one another in the case of a compressed winding carrier such that the concave end face 14 engages over the convex end face 13.
- the curvature of the two end faces 13, 14 is chosen so that a slight clamping occurs in this interlocking.
- the end faces 13, 14 have no inclination in the radial direction, so that the compression force when the end faces 13, 14 mesh with one another cannot be broken down into radial force components.
- FIGS. 3 to 6 like the embodiment described above, has two end rings 2, 3. Furthermore, support rings 1 are provided in the manner already described. In this embodiment, adjacent support rings 1 are equidistant by inclined in the same direction Struts 16 distributed over the circumference are connected to one another, the struts 16 on the two sides of each support ring 1 being inclined in opposite directions.
- struts 16 are provided with disc-shaped intermediate elements 17 which are cylindrical in circumference and are arranged in the central region of the struts 16 and each form two active surfaces 18, 19, as is shown in particular in FIGS. 5, 6.
- the same limit stops 20 are provided, each having a concave end face 21.
- the struts 16 With axial compression of the winding carrier, the struts 16 deform, as shown in FIGS. 4, 6. During this deformation, the intermediate elements 17 consequently also shift until finally the active surfaces 18 of the intermediate elements 17 engage in the end surfaces 21 of the limit stops 20 and preclude further compression.
- the thus cooperating surfaces run normal to the axis of the winding support, so that there is no inclination radially outwards or inwards, and consequently no radial force component can be derived from the compression force.
- Fig. 3 shows in its upper section the cross section of the support rings 1 with inclined flanks 22 to which the limit stops 20 are attached.
- Support rings 1, struts 16, active surfaces 18, 19 and limit stops 20 start from a common inner envelope surface 23, but only the support rings 1 and the struts 16 project together into one and the same outer jacket surface.
- end rings 2, 3 are provided in the manner described. Furthermore, support rings 26 are parallel and concentric between the end rings 2, 3 arranged. These support rings 26 are deformable under axial pressure.
- each two adjacent support rings 26 there are a plurality of axially extending supports 27 distributed equidistantly over the circumference, the supports acting on both sides of each support ring 26 being offset by half a pitch.
- a limit stop 28, 29 is provided on the flanks 22 of each support ring 26 where a support 27 is attached to the support ring 26 on the one hand and the same support ring 27 on the other hand.
- the two limit stops 28, 29 are directed towards one another, one having a concave and the other a convex end face.
- the cooperating end faces are oriented normal to the axis of the winding support, so that here too a splitting of the compression force into a radial force component and thus radial deformation are avoided.
- Support rings 26, supports 27 and limit stops 28, 29 start from the same inner envelope surface 30.
- the radial extent of the limit stops 28, 29 is less than that of the support rings 26 and the supports 27. This prevents the support rings 26 from coming too close to one another and causing clamping at maximum compression.
- thermoplastic which can be used in the desired color.
- adjacent support rings 31 are connected by struts 32, which are inclined to an axially parallel surface line of the winding support in such a way that the inclination of the struts on the one hand of a support ring 31 is mirror image the same as the inclination of the struts 32 on the other side this support ring.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 9 essentially corresponds to that according to FIGS. 3 to 4.
- limit stops 33, 34 are provided on both sides of each support ring 31.
- the limit stops 33, 34 of adjacent end rings 31 are offset from one another in the circumferential direction in the non-compressed state of the winding support. Compression of the winding support according to FIG. 9 now leads to mutually adjacent support rings rotating relative to one another about the winding support axis. The offset of the limit stops of adjacent support rings 31 now corresponds to the rotation that occurs when the winding carrier is compressed to the maximum.
- the limit stops 34 have two mutually opposite convex end faces 35, while the limit stops 33 have two mutually opposite concave end faces 36, in which the convex end faces 35 engage in the compressed state and thus exactly define the maximum compression of the winding support, as illustrated in Fig. 11.
- the end faces 35, 36 have no inclination in the radial direction. They can be viewed as spanned by radial jets running normal to the winding carrier axis.
- limit stops 37 are provided on the support rings, the end faces 38 of which only extend in a circumferential direction from their point closest to the support ring 1. This simplified design of the limit stops 37 is sufficient if the compression causes the intermediate element 17 to be displaced in one direction, as is the case with its arrangement on inclined struts 16.
- the end faces are not inclined in the radial direction, so they can be thought of as radial rays running normal to the axis of the winding support.
