Definitions
- the invention relates to a furniture hinge, the door stop part of which is designed as a pocket which can be countersunk in a recess in the inside of a furniture door, is coupled via an articulated mechanism to a body stop part, which is adjustable as a short arm which is to be fastened to a mounting component fastened to the furniture body
- a U-shaped cross-section is formed, the lateral cheeks of which the U-legs form a bearing in contact with associated surfaces of the assembly component, the support arm of the boundary edges of its cheeks guided on the surfaces of the assembly component facing away from the plug-in pot and extending at right angles to the body-mounting surface of the assembly component has essentially at right angles folded narrow strip-shaped bevels, which can be inserted into a groove provided in the assembly component and open at the upper end facing away from the body, and for adjusting the distance of the door agarms from the body mounting surface an adjusting screw engaging on the mounting component on the one hand and on the support arm on the other hand and a fixing screw for fixing the
- Such furniture hinges also referred to as “short-arm hinges", in which both the support arm and the mounting component used instead of the mounting plate usually provided for adjustable fastening to the cabinet body are significantly shortened in the longitudinal direction of the support arm compared to the normal hinges, are known, for example, from DE-A-35 41 110. They are used, for example, when the hinges are not to be attached to the inner surface of the associated body side wall, but rather to the narrow end face of a frame that reduces the clear cabinet opening. If normal hinges were used, the support arm and the mounting plate would then protrude over the frame into the interior of the cabinet, which not only looks unsightly, but can also hinder the removal of the contents of the cabinet.
- Such short-arm hinges can also be used if the mounting component holding the support arm is to be fastened in bores in a row of bores provided for shelf supports in the immediate vicinity of the front edges of the cabinet body.
- the bevels that can be inserted into the grooves of the mounting component guide the support arm against pivoting relative to the mounting surface on the cabinet body, whereby an adjustment of the overlay or overlap dimension of the door wing attached to the cabinet body with the short arm hinges in question is possible in that a support arm Swivel block is pivotally mounted about a predetermined angle, which has a continuous threaded hole.
- a threaded pin is screwed into this threaded hole, at the lower end of which a diameter-enlarged holding head is attached via a throat section that is reduced in diameter, which can be pivoted by pivoting the swivel block under a projection of the mounting component, which then prevents the lifting arm from being lifted off the mounting component , a shift in the sense of a change in the door wing overlay dimension is possible by turning the grub screw.
- the swivel block is clamped into the fastening position by a tensioning screw supported on the swivel block and penetrating a threaded hole in the support arm, in which the holding head is clamped under the projection of the assembly component. Because of this configuration makes the known short-arm hinge very compact.
- due to the complex structure with a separately manufactured pivot block to be mounted in the support arm and the design of the special threaded pin provided with a holding head it is also relatively expensive to manufacture.
- the object of the invention is to simplify short-arm hinges of the type in question here in such a way that less expensive construction and simplified assembly make it possible to manufacture them more cheaply.
- this object is achieved according to the invention in a first embodiment in that the support arm at least partially overlaps the mounting component laterally, and to point the bends of the cheeks towards one another, that the adjusting screw and the fixing screw each have a thread in the mounting component are screwed in, the adjusting screw being supported with its free end on the web surface of the support arm, that the opening through which the fastening screw is formed is an elongated hole which opens at its end of the web surface facing away from the plug-in pot and points into the interior of the cupboard, and that the length of the folds receiving grooves in the mounting component and the length of the shaft of the mounting screw are matched to one another so that the mounting screw can be unscrewed so far without separation from the associated threaded hole in the mounting component that between de r There is sufficient play to remove the support arm from the assembly component on the top of the support arm web surface and the associated underside of the head of the fastening screw.
- a separate adjustable component does not correspond to the swivel
- the configuration can be such that the assembly component has a greatest height corresponding to the greatest clear height of the cheeks measured in the interior of the support arm, from its free boundary edge facing away from the web surface to the inner surface of the web surface, and that the upper limit facing the web surface has of the mounting component has two sections offset in height, the threaded hole for the fastening screw opening in the section having the full height and the threaded hole for the adjusting screw opening in the other section of lower height. If the height difference between the two sections is approximately equal to the height of the head of the adjusting screw, the latter can be screwed into the mounting component to such an extent that the support arm can be screwed to the section of greater height by means of the fastening screw until its web surface abuts.
- the grooves in the assembly component extend only over part of the height of the assembly component, in which the inner lateral boundary wall of the groove, which is further away from the articulation mechanism, extends over the entire height of the assembly component, the outer vertical groove articulation closer to the articulation mechanism.
- Boundary wall is only guided up to about half the height and the part of the assembly component lying above it is reduced to a width by removing material from the side faces of the assembly component, which width is substantially the same or slightly less than that between the free boundary edges of the fold to be pointed towards one another of the support arm measured clearance.
- the mounting screw only needs to be screwed out so far for mounting the support arm that the lower edge of the side cheeks of the support arm can be guided over the reduced-width upper part of the mounting component.
- the part of the assembly component which is reduced in width can be guided up to the vicinity of the front end of the assembly component which projects out of the interior of the body, the assembly component, however, expediently in this end region again corresponding over its entire height to an approximately the clear distance between the cheeks of the support arm full width is widened to support the support arm in the intended mounting position on the mounting component in its front area near the joint mechanism against lateral weight forces.
- the elongated support arm of which can be adjustably fastened to a mounting plate which is blunt on a level with the closed door wing the part of the furniture body enclosing the stretched angle is attached, the fastening screw is screwed into a threaded bore running transversely to the longitudinal axis of a component rotatably mounted in the mounting plate and engages through an elongated hole which opens out at the end of the web surface of the support arm facing away from the insertion pot.
- the manner of holding the support arm on the assembly component provided in the known hinge described above is transferred to short-arm hinges, the configuration being such that the support arm overlaps the assembly component at least partially laterally, and the To fold the cheeks towards each other, that the adjusting screw is screwed into a threaded hole in the mounting component and its free end is supported on the web surface of the support arm, that the grooves in the mounting component extend over the entire height of the mounting component, that the mounting component in the area between the grooves has a recess up to the top and open to the inside of the body, and that in the fastening area near the lower area of the assembly component within the recess, a receiving component with a threaded bore for the shaft of the fastening screw at a right angle to the T cantilever longitudinal axis and axis parallel to the body mounting surface is pivotally mounted.
- the fastening screw then only has to be unscrewed so far that it can be pivoted out of the open-ended slot.
- an additional receiving component is provided which is provided with a threaded bore for the shaft of the fastening screw, but which is of a simpler construction than the pivot block of the known one Has short arm hinge.
- a normal machine screw can be used here as a fastening screw.
- the assembly component expediently has flat fastening flanges protruding in the opposite direction from its lower side surface regions near the fastening surface, each with a through opening for fastening screws which can be screwed into the fastening surface.
- the assembly component can then also be referred to as a wing component.
- the through openings in the mounting flanges are preferably formed as elongated holes, so that the assembly component and thus the hinge attached to it is adjustable in the direction of the course of the elongated holes.
- the elongated holes will run at right angles to the longitudinal center axis of the support arm in order to enable the height of the door leaf attached to the body by the hinges according to the invention.
- an arrangement of the elongated holes running parallel to the longitudinal direction of the support arm is also conceivable, as a result of which joint adjustment is then possible.
- the side cheeks of the support arm are provided with a cutout at each of their lower edges facing away from the web surface, through which the fastening flanges pass, between the vertical edges having the rear folds and the front portions carrying the axes of the joint mechanism can.
- the mounting flanges can also be made with a greater thickness, which makes it possible to manufacture them from - optionally fiber-reinforced - plastic instead of metal.
- a four-joint hinge is shown in its entirety, which serves for pivoting articulation of a door wing (not shown) on a body wall (also not shown), the body wall here being the side wall of a cabinet body, while in the case of the
- the following embodiment described in connection with Figures 9 to 13 is formed by a projecting from a side wall of the cabinet body frame element, which narrows the door opening relative to its clear inner width.
- the hinge 10 itself has a supporting wall stop part designed as a short support arm 12, which is pivoted by two hinge links 14 and 16 pivotably articulated on its end pointing out of the interior of the body, with a door leaf designed as an insert pot 18, sunk in a recess in the associated door leaf.
- Stop part is coupled, in the interior of which the other ends of the hinge arms 14, 16 are pivotally hinged.
- the links 14, 16 thus form a so-called four-bar mechanism in the case shown, although it should be pointed out that this design of the link mechanism is not essential for the invention, i.e. that the hinge e.g. could also be designed as a single-joint hinge or as a universal joint hinge.
- the hinge mechanism formed by the hinge arms 14, 16 and the door leaf stop part, i.e. the insertion pocket 18 are therefore not explained in detail in the further description, because they are not essential within the scope of the inventive concept.
- the configuration of the supporting wall stop part, ie the supporting arm 12, and the way in which it can be adjusted are held on a mounting element 20, which in turn is fastened on the inner surface of the above-mentioned side wall of a cabinet body, it being possible, for example, to think of fastening by means of (not shown) fastening screws which can be screwed into holes in a front row of holes on the door leaf, which in itself is suitable for the inclusion of shelf supports is provided.
- the support arm 12 which is produced, for example, by stamping and pressing from sheet metal, has a web surface 22, from the two lateral longitudinal edges of which a cheek 24 is folded down at right angles.
- the cross section of the support arm thus corresponds to a rotated by 180 °, i.e. upside down U.
- the hinge links 14, 16 are mounted on bearing pins at the end of the support arm 12 pointing out of the interior of the body, the opposite ends of which are fixed in bores 26, 28 in the cheeks 24.
- the rear end edges of the cheeks 24 are at right angles inwards, i.e.
- Strip-shaped bevels 30 to be directed toward one another, which — as described below — enable the support arm to be held on the mounting component 20 in an adjustable direction in a direction running at right angles to the side wall of the body.
- a circularly delimited opening 32 is punched at some distance from the inside of the body, through which the end of the action of a tool, for example the cutting edge of a screwdriver, can be inserted into the driving slots in the head 34a of an adjusting screw 34 (FIG. 1) , the diameter of the head 34a of the adjusting screw 34 being larger than the diameter of the opening 32.
- Web surface 22 In the rear end of the body, which is extended somewhat into the interior of the body via the folds 30 Web surface 22 is an elongated hole 36 which opens into the interior of the body and which, in the intended fastening position of support arm 12 on mounting component 20, is penetrated by the threaded shaft of a fastening screw 38, the screw head 38a of which then rests on the top of web surface 22.
- the side cheeks 24 of the support arm 12 are not linearly delimited at their free edges facing the fastening surface, but rather each have a cutout 40 in the area between the rear and the front end (FIGS. 1 and 3).
- the assembly component 20 shown in FIGS. 1, 7 and 8 has a mounting block 46 which fits upright between the cheeks 24 of the support arm 12 and whose maximum width is therefore approximately equal to the clear distance between the inner surfaces of the cheeks 24.
- open-ended grooves 48 are provided in the side walls of the mounting block 46 at the upper end, in which the inserted support arm is thus held in a form-fitting manner against being pulled off in the direction out of the interior of the body or pushed in in the direction of the interior of the body.
- the screws mentioned, ie the adjusting screw 34 and the fastening screw 38, are used can be screwed into associated threaded holes 50 and 52 in the mounting block 46.
- the mounting block 46 of the assembly component 20 has in its upper boundary facing the web surface area two vertically offset sections 54a and 54b, the threaded bore 52 for the fastening screw being located in the section 54b which is located further inside the body 38 and in which the threaded bore 50 is provided for the adjusting screw, approximately by the measure of the height of the head of the adjusting screw 34.
- the threaded bores 50 and 52 extend through the mounting block 46 into a recess 55 provided in the underside of the mounting block (FIG. 8), so that for the relatively long threaded shafts of the screws 34 and 38 a large screw-in depth and, accordingly, a relatively large one Adjustment path is available.
- the diameter of the head 34a is larger than the diameter of the punching 32 in the web surface 22 of the support arm, so that the web surface comes to rest on the head screwed into the threaded bore 50 when the folds 30 of the support arm into the Grooves 48 are inserted into the bracket block 46.
- the screw-in dimension of the adjusting screw 34 thus determines the extent to which the support arm can be pushed onto the mounting block 46 up to its underside or the fastening surface on the cabinet body.
- the support arm is then held by the fastening screw 38 passing through the elongated hole 36, which is screwed in so far to fix the support arm on the assembly component 20 that its head 38a rests laterally next to the elongated hole 36 on the top of the web surface 22.
- the fastening screw 38 is loosened, it is possible to change the insertion depth of the support arm 12 in the grooves 48 by then turning the head of the adjusting screw 34 through the punched-out 32 in the screwing-in or screwing-out direction.
- the support arm is then fixed in the changed setting position by tightening the fastening screw again.
- the grooves 48 in the assembly component 20 are only guided over a part of the height of the mounting block 46, namely from the fastening surface to approximately half the height of the mounting block, in which the lateral boundary wall of the groove closer to the articulation mechanism only extends approximately half the height of the mounting block 46 is guided, and then the mounting component there is reduced by removing material from the side surfaces of the mounting component in upper lateral areas 56 to a width which is substantially the same or slightly less than that between the free ones to be pointed towards one another Boundary edges of the folds 30 of the support arm 12 is the clear distance measured.
- bracket arm is then carried out in reverse order, ie the fastening screw 38 is unscrewed so far that the bevels 30 can be pulled up out of the grooves 48 so far that their lower edges into the reduced lateral areas 56 of the bracket block 46 come whereupon the Support arm 12 to the front, ie can be pulled out of the interior of the body in the direction without the fastening screw 38 has been completely unscrewed.
- flat fastening flanges 58 protruding in opposite directions are provided on the lower side surface regions of the mounting block 46 near the fastening surfaces, in each of which a through hole 60 formed as a countersunk elongated hole 60 is provided for the fastening surface or in the fastening surface Mounting holes screw-in mounting screws are provided. Due to the design of the through openings as elongated holes 60, a height adjustment of the assembly component, which is predetermined by the length of the elongated holes 60, and thus a door leaf articulated with the hinge 10 according to the invention is possible.
- a further countersunk bore 62 is additionally provided, into which a further fastening screw can be screwed. Since this bore 62 is limited in a circle, the fastening screw screwed into it fixes the height of the mounting component 20 even when the fastening screws guided through the elongated holes 60 are loosened.
- the actual hinge that is to say the support arm 12 connected to the insert 18 via the articulated mechanism 14, 16 corresponds to the embodiment described in connection with the preceding drawing figures, so that below only the modified assembly component 120 in must be described individually, while it is sufficient to refer to the preceding description, especially since functionally matching parts of the two exemplary embodiments in the drawings are assigned the same reference numerals, only in the case of the second exemplary embodiment of the hinge 110 being preceded by a "1".
- This also applies to functionally matching configurations of the assembly components 20 and 120, so that only the differences made need to be explained.
- the grooves 148 in the mounting block 146 which accommodate the folds of the mounting arm 112, extend over the entire height of the mounting block corresponding to the clear distance between the cheeks 124 of the mounting arm 112 over its entire length, which is what means that the folds of the support arm 112 must be guided over the upper mouth of the grooves 148 during assembly on the assembly component 120.
- the threaded shaft of the fastening screw 138 cannot be dimensioned so long that it can be unscrewed for assembly by the full amount of the height of the support arm 112 - when screwing the threaded shaft would then still penetrate into the material of the body - the fastening screw 138 not directly into the mounting block 146, but screwed into a cylindrical mounting component 164 (FIGS. 12 and 13), which in turn is pivotally mounted in the mounting component 146 about an axis running at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the support arm and parallel to the body mounting surface, and one that is approximately radial in the middle has penetrating threaded bore 152 for the shaft of the fastening screw 138.
- the mounting flanges 158 are provided in the assembly component 120 further forward to the end on the side of the joint mechanism, protruding laterally from the mounting component 146, and protrude somewhat beyond this front end. At the front edge, the mounting flanges 158 each have at least one low, in the intended mounting position of the mounting component 120 on the body surface opposite the inner surface of the closed door panel 168 stop 168. Since the mounting component 120 is intended for mounting the hinge on the end faces of a frame restricting the clear opening of the cabinet body, the position of the mounting block 146 on the end face of the frame with respect to its front side facing the door leaf is determined by stops 168.
- the assembly component which is produced from die-cast metal, can also be made of plastic, and expediently then be made of fiber-reinforced plastic.
- the mounting flanges 158 would then have to be increased in thickness compared to the representation in the drawing figures in order to achieve sufficient strength.
