  • any slowing down of the element to a speed below its design speed will be an indication of at least partial clogging-up of the discharge system, (the plenum chamber, the discharge duct or the outlet to a waste collection unit), and this may enable warning signals to be triggered well in advance of any dangerous or hazardous situation developing. This will enable remedial action to be taken in good time, and therefore this monitoring of the speed of the rotatable element will provide early warning of this potentially hazardous condition.
  • monitoring means for monitoring the operation of the rotatable element in the plenum chamber enables significantly improved management of the operation of a carding engine, or batch of carding engines.
  • the engine(s) can be operated and cleaning carried out only when necessary, of which early warning will be given of need for future cleaning e.g. in ten minutes time or so, by monitoring slow down in the speed of rotation of the rotatable element from its design speed.

Abstract

Machine de cardage (100) comportant un dispositif d'alimentation (2), un briseur (3), un cylindre principal de cardage (4), un peigneur (6) et un ensemble débourreur (7), un plénum (11) étant placé dans la machine (100) là où les déchets sont créés et où ils s'accumulent pendant le fonctionnement de la machine (par exemple à l'extrémité d'alimentation (2) de celle-ci; au-dessus du briseur (3) et de l'ensemble débourreur (7); à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe du trajet suivi par des chapeaux de carde (5); ou à l'intérieur de l'une des extrémités de retour (36, 37) pour le trajet suivi par lesdits chapeaux de carde (5)). La machine comporte également un agitateur (14) monté rotatif à grande vitesse dans le plénum (11) et configuré de sorte qu'il crée un écoulement turbulent dans celui-ci afin de suspendre les particules de déchets dans l'air et de faciliter ainsi leur décharge par l'intermédiaire du conduit de décharge (12) vers une quelconque unité appropriée de réception des déchets; un plateau percuteur (23) coopérant avec la partie radialement externe de l'agitateur (14) pendant sa rotation pour minimiser l'accumulation de déchets sur ledit agitateur (14); ainsi qu'un dispositif (19a) destiné à contrôler le fonctionnement dudit agitateur (14) et à fournir à l'avance une indication d'un besoin futur de nettoyage et d'entretien du système d'évacuation de déchets lorsque la vitesse de l'agitateur devient pour la première fois inférieure à sa vitesse de travail normale.

Claims (11)

  1. Machine de cardage (100) comprenant un moyen d'alimentation (2), un dispositif preneur (3), un cylindre principal de cardage (4), un dispositif de sortie (6), un dispositif séparateur (7), une chambre de distribution (11) placée en une région de la machine dans laquelle les déchets sont formés ou collectés pendant le fonctionnement de la machine, une conduite de sortie (12) partant de la chambre de distribution (11), et un moyen pour créer une dépression à l'intérieur de la conduite (12) et de la chambre de distribution (11) afin de dégager les déchets de la chambre de distribution (11) :
    caractérisée en ce qu'une hélice (14) est montée rotative à grande vitesse à l'intérieur de la chambre pour créer un flux d'air turbulent à l'intérieur de la chambre et le mélanger avec les déchets ;
    et en ce qu'un déflecteur (23) est disposé adjacent au trajet circulaire de déplacement défini par la partie la plus extérieure de l'hélice pendant sa rotation afin de coopérer avec l'hélice pour empêcher l'accumulation de déchets sur l'hélice.
  2. Machine selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle est montée une bande transporteuse sans fin (9) qui s'étend au moins sous le dispositif preneur (3), le cylindre principal de cardage (4) et le dispositif de sortie (6), et dans laquelle le plateau supérieur (10) de la bande transporteuse (9) est agencé pour se déplacer depuis l'extrémité du séparateur en direction de l'extrémité d'alimentation de la machine de cardage, et dans laquelle la chambre de distribution (11) est disposée autour de la bande transporteuse (9) à l'extrémité d'alimentation de la machine de cardage.
  3. Machine selon la revendication 1 ou 2, dans laquelle l'hélice (14) comprend une âme cylindrique circulaire (15) sur laquelle est rigidement fixée au moins une pale orientée radialement (20, 21).
  4. Machine selon la revendication 3, dans laquelle l'âme cylindrique (15) porte au moins deux pales (20, 21) montées sur l'âme de manière que cette dernière soit équilibrée en rotation et possède une surface extérieure lisse.
  5. Machine selon la revendication 2, dans laquelle l'écart entre la partie radialement la plus extérieure de l'hélice (14) et la surface de la bande transporteuse (9) n'est pas supérieur à 1 cm.
  6. Machine selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, dans laquelle une première hélice est montée dans la chambre de distribution (11), et une seconde hélice est montée au voisinage de l'entrée de la conduite (12).
  7. Machine selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, comprenant un moyen de surveillance (19a) pour surveiller le mouvement de l'hélice (14) dans la chambre de distribution (11).
  8. Machine selon la revendication 7, comprenant un dispositif avertisseur couplé au moyen de surveillance (19a) et ayant pour fonction d'avertir en cas de réduction de la vitesse de l'hélice (14).
  9. Machine selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 8, dans laquelle la chambre de distribution (11), ou une chambre de distribution respective est disposée dans la région d'un ou plusieurs des éléments suivants : le dispositif preneur (3) ; le dispositif séparateur (7) ; à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe de la trajectoire de déplacement des cylindres lisses (5) ; ou à l'intérieur de l'une des extrémités de retour (36, 37) autour desquelles les méplats (5) sont mobiles.
  10. Machine selon la revendication 9, dans laquelle la chambre de distribution est placée dans l'une des extrémités de retour (36, 37) et dans laquelle l'hélice (14) contenue dans cette chambre est disposée pour être entraînée par le même moyen d'entraînement que celui qui communique le mouvement d'entraînement aux cylindres lisses (5) le long du trajet fermé.
  11. Machine de cardage (100) ayant un moyen d'alimentation (2), un dispositif preneur (3), un cylindre principal de cardage (4) un dispositif de sortie (6), un dispositif séparateur (7), une chambre de distribution (11) placée dans une zone de la machine dans laquelle les déchets sont collectés ou formés pendant le fonctionnement de la machine, une conduite de sortie (12) partant de la chambre de distribution (11) vers un dispositif de collecte des déchets, et un moyen pour créer une dépression à l'intérieur de la conduite (12) et de la chambre de distribution (11) afin de dégager les déchets :
    caractérisée en ce qu'une hélice (14) est montée en rotation à grande vitesse à l'intérieur de la chambre de distribution (11) pour créer un courant d'air turbulent à l'intérieur de la chambre et le mélanger avec les déchets, et en ce qu'un moyen (19a) est prévu pour surveiller le fonctionnement de l'hélice (14) et pour détecter à quel moment la vitesse de l'hélice (14) descend en-dessous d'une vitesse nominale de façon à pouvoir signaler une accumulation de déchets dans le système de dégagement des déchets (14, 12), et à former d'avance un signal avertissant que le nettoyage et/ou la maintenance du système de dégagement des déchets seront nécessaires dans l'avenir.
