- the European standardization of the four-way flat pallet in particular has contributed to this. Their advantage is that they can be used as an exchange pallet and common funds can be used and the other is that their construction is relatively simple.
- the pallets made of wood have the disadvantage that they only have a very short lifespan when used in companies in which they are exposed to high humidity, for example in breweries, and in some cases have to be replaced after only two uses.
