Definitions
- the invention relates to a colorant pump with a housing that receives at least one pump unit, in which pump elements are arranged, each with a connection for connection to a color changing unit and with a paint application device, and with a drive motor provided to act on the pump elements, the operation of which is controlled by is subject to central control.
- a colorant pump is assigned to each color changing unit, which works together with a so-called function block, by means of which the colorant supply and discharge of the colorant pump is controlled.
- Each colorant pump has its own drive motor, which, like the function block, is controlled by the central control mentioned.
- the pump unit has at least two separate pump blocks with separate function blocks, each pump block being assigned a color change unit connected to the pump unit (16, 17), and each pump block being acted upon by a common drive shaft of a common drive motor.
- the space requirement since only one common drive motor is required for all pump blocks each connected to a color change unit, so that the space requirement for the further drive motors normally provided is eliminated.
- the rinsing effort for cleaning the respective ink path in the event of color changes is reduced in that the function block, which ensures the connection to the color changing unit and to the ink application device, is integrated in the respective pump block. Apart from the further reduction in the required space required, this also reduces the filling volume of the ink path to be cleaned, which has a favorable effect in a lower consumption of cleaning agents and in a shorter time requirement.
- a pump block acted upon by a drive motor is provided, which is combined with at least two functional blocks, each of which cooperates with a color changing unit.
- the function blocks have logically controlled shut-offs, which work together with the central control and thus ensure that a simultaneous supply of colorant to the colorant pump is excluded from more than one color changing unit.
- Appropriate design of the colorant paths within the functional blocks and the pump block ensures that at the same time as the colorant supply from a color changing unit, the flow paths not required for colorant supply, e.g. B. the ink paths that lead to other color changing units can be cleaned without influencing each other.
- FIGURE shows an arrangement diagram of a paint spraying system 10 with a first paint change unit 12 and a second paint change unit 13, which are connected in terms of flow via lines 14, 15 to a first pump block 16 and a second pump block 17, respectively.
- the first pump block 16 and the second pump block 17 are acted upon jointly by a drive motor M.
- first and second pump blocks 16, 17 are each connected via separate lines 18, 19 to an associated first function block 20 and a second function block 21, which are each connected to collecting containers 26, 27 via first and second flush lines 22, 23 and are connected to a paint application device 30 via first and second delivery lines 24, 25, which are led to a common feed line 28.
- the first and second color change units 12, 13 and the respectively assigned pump blocks 16, 17 and function blocks 20, 21 are each represented as blocks, corresponding to a block diagram, since their internal structure is known in the prior art and is used here in a known manner.
- a central logic control 32 is provided, which is connected to all of the above-mentioned modules via connecting lines shown in broken lines. This ensures that in addition to a compact design, safe operation with short color change times can also be achieved.
- the short color change times are based on the fact that due to the compact design, in which the individual pumps and functional blocks are located at a small spatial distance from one another, no large conduit paths with a corresponding volume are flowed through and cleaning agents have to be applied. This leads to a significant reduction in rinsing times and the need for cleaning agents.
