Definitions

  • the invention relates to a droppable sabot for a sub-caliber floor according to the preamble of Claim.
  • a sabot - for one sub-caliber wing-stabilized projectile - with one for pre-segmenting, one-piece, slotted by cutting Body described.
  • Slits in the form in the one-piece sabot body introduced that additional material bridges Form predetermined breaking points between the individual pre-segments, the slots for sealing with accordingly trained elements are filled out of sheet metal.
  • a second sabot those in the axially central area of the sabot body intended further material bridge through against each other arranged slots formed, each in one to one Diameter parallel plane.
  • the problem solved with the present invention is to create a sabot, which is more reliable and trouble-free from the projectile body detaches, if possible without the projectile body in To start initial commuting.
  • a sabot projectile 10 has one Arrow projectile body 11 on the at its rear end Stabilizing wing 12 has.
  • the top of the Arrow projectile body 11 is located in a hood 13, the is attached to a sabot 14.
  • the arrow projectile body 11 has a thread 15 that the sabot 14 is screwed on.
  • the sabot 14 is composed of a sabot jacket 17 and a Sabot body 16 together.
  • the sabot jacket 17 is preferably made of plastic.
  • For the Sabot body 16 is preferably aluminum.
  • the hood 13 is also preferably made of plastic produced. Sabot body 16 and sabot jacket 17 are 18 in a conventional manner over a number of circumferential grooves connected to one another (see in particular FIGS. 7 and 8).
  • FIGS. 2 to 4 and FIGS. 7 and 8 The structure and design of the sabot body 16 should be based on FIGS. 2 to 4 and FIGS. 7 and 8 are described, whereby for simplification or Clarification of the sabot body 16 only as a single part is shown, however, for the mode of operation as in Sabot 14 integrated applies.
  • the sabot 14 when the projectile is fired upon exiting the Can detach the barrel barrel is the sabot body 16 with partitions 29 or slots or grooves 19 with assigned predetermined breaking points 22, see FIGS. 7 and 8, in Segments 20 divided.
  • Fig.2a Segment separation with known separating surfaces 29 accomplished.
  • FIG. 2 there are preferably three slots or Grooves 19 provided evenly distributed around the circumference, whereby three segments 20 are formed.
  • the slots or grooves 19 are extended over the shoulders 21 at the outer end (see also Fig. 5 and 6).
  • a predetermined breaking point 22 is provided, which is further below is still described in detail.
  • the slots or grooves 19 are not in a radial plane, but at a distance d parallel to such a radial plane.
  • This arrangement of Slits or grooves 19 and also the parting surfaces 29 according to 2a at a distance d from a radial plane in a still defining area is essential to the invention viewed, as this detaches the segments 20 from Projectile body 11 substantially improved, as in the following explained in particular with reference to the preferred slots 19 shall be.
  • the predetermined breaking point 22 extends in Seen along the entire length of the axial direction Sabot body 16.
  • Fig. 8 is only on the front and rear end of the sabot body 16 each one Breakage point 22 is present. But it can also apply to one of these predetermined breaking points 22, i.e. at the rear end or at front end of the sabot body 16 are omitted.
  • the sabot jacket 17 by three radial slots or grooves 23 in three shell segments 26 divided by three predetermined breaking points 24 are interconnected.
  • Each segment 26 has two Cutouts 25 to avoid unnecessary masses.
  • these slots or grooves 23 are not in a radial plane, but at a distance d1 (which can be the same or different from the distance d in Fig. 3 and 4) parallel to such a radial plane.
  • the slots or grooves 23 of the sabot jacket 17 can with Slits or grooves 19 of the sabot body 16 coincide or be offset from one another.
  • the radial arranged slots 23, or slots 23 which in Distance are arranged parallel to a radial plane.
  • the predetermined breaking point 22 shown in FIG. 7 is via the entire length equally strong i.e. equally dimensioned, it can however forward or backward (in the direction of the shot seen) be formed weaker to an inclination of the segments 20 after detachment from the projectile body 11 avoid.
  • the predetermined distance d between the slot 19 and the corresponding radial plane slightly larger than the radius R of the bore, e.g. to the Dimension of a predetermined breaking point 22.
  • this larger distance d is more advantageous.
  • the distance d is at least half the amount of the radius R of the projectile body 11 corresponds.
  • the separating surfaces 29 or slots can preferably or grooves 19 according to Figures 3 and 4 instead of parallel arranged skew to the corresponding radial planes be.
  • the individual segments 20 fly the sabot body 16 after its detachment from Projectile body 11 in the direction of arrow V, i.e. tangential to the projectile body 11 thereof.
  • the individual segments 20 fly the sabot body 16 after its detachment from Projectile body 11 in the direction of arrow V, i.e. tangential to the projectile body 11 thereof.
  • everyone starts Segment 20 to rotate around its center of gravity S as through the arrow W is indicated. Thanks to the different Arrangement of the slots 19 can now neither the edge 27 of the a predetermined breaking point 22, the edge 28 of the other Push the predetermined breaking point 22 against the projectile body 11.
  • the slots 19 are in the Distance d parallel to the corresponding radial plane arranged, and this distance d is chosen so that the shocks mentioned are avoided.
  • the air resistance acting on a segment 20 is in the Figures 11, 12 and 13 indicated by the distances c and e. 11, the distance c is greater than the distance e, thus the air resistance acts in the direction of arrow W and supports the rotation of the segment around the center of gravity S. According to FIGS. 12 and 13, the distance c is smaller than that Distance e, thus the air resistance of the rotation acts in Counter to the sense of arrow W and reduces or prevents the risk that the edge 28 of the segment 20 against the Projectile body 11 pushes.
