- the invention relates to a device for connecting an explosive charge which can be triggered by electrical current to a power source, in which a two-wire electrical line is connected to the explosive charge, on the end of which is remote from the explosive charge, a plug having two plug pins running parallel to one another is attached to the a mating connector is inserted in the closed position of the device, while the connector pins are free of the mating connector in the open position of the device.

In the open position of the plug 4 or the device shown in FIG. 2, the short-circuit element 11 is in its rest position, which it assumes due to its shape and its spring force. It protrudes by a shorter piece in relation to the length of the connector pins 7 and 8 into the space provided for the mating connector 5 and bears with its bends 12 and 13 against the connector pins 7 and 8.

- the short circuit of the plug pins 7 and 8 remains until the short-circuit element 11 is moved out of its rest position by the mating connector 5.
- the mating connector 5 is plugged onto the connector pins 7 and 8 to establish the conductive connection between the explosive charge 1 and the current source 3. Its contacts - for example sockets - are already in contact with the plug pins 7 and 8 before the end face 18 of the mating connector 5 touches the short-circuit element 11. This position is shown in Fig. 3.
- the conductive connection between connector 4 and mating connector 5 is thus already established before the short-circuit element 11 is moved.
- the short-circuit element 11 When the mating connector 5 is then brought into its end position, which can be seen in FIG. 4 and corresponds to the closed position of the device, the short-circuit element 11 is moved into its working position in which it no longer has any contact with the connector pins 7 and 8. Its bends 12 and 13 slide along the slopes 15 and 16 of the recess 14 so that the short-circuit element 11 is compressed against its spring force. It automatically slips back into its rest position shown in FIG. 2 as soon as the mating connector 5 is pulled out of the connector 4 and thus removed from the connector pins 7 and 8. The short-circuit element 11 travels a very short distance. It is already back on the connector pins 7 and 8 before the mating connector is removed from the same.
