Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cushion insert for packaging goods in transport containers, in particular in cardboard boxes.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide a padding for packaging goods in transport containers, such as cardboard boxes, which can also be used several times for use with different goods. This means that they can, in principle, be reused together with the cardboard box without restriction.
  • the cushion insert can be matched to the size of the cardboard box. This allows the upholstery to be stored, reused or returned with and in the cardboard box. A separation of the materials for possible destruction of the packaging is ensured by simply pulling the padding out of the cardboard box. Both the box and the padding remain intact. The materials are separated without any residues. Use in the dual system is fully guaranteed.
  • FIG. 1 shows a cardboard box 3 in a perspective view with solid lines. It is open at the top, with its cover 31 pointing upwards and having a tab 32 on the free side for closing the cardboard box.
  • any construction of boxes and boxes in any suitable materials can be provided with the cushion insert according to the invention.
  • the cushion insert 1 is in the inserted state in the cardboard box 3.
  • the cushion insert 1 is a multi-part cushion that can be filled with air or gas. In principle, it has the same shape as the cardboard box 3 and fits exactly into the associated cardboard box. However, the side pillow parts are only partially firmly connected to each other, so that the cushion insert 1 has the shape of the cardboard box only when inserted.
  • the cover cushion part 16 of the cushion insert 1, like the cover 31, projects upwards in the open state. There is little or no air in the cushion insert. In this open state, the goods to be packaged are placed in the cardboard box 3 with the cushion insert 1 open. The cover cushion part 16 of the cushion insert 1 is then placed over the goods and the cover 31 of the cardboard box is placed over it, but not yet closed.
  • the valve 20 still protrudes outwards. Now air is blown into the cushion insert 1 from the mouth, using a bicycle pump or the like, until the cardboard box 3 is approximately filled. The valve 20 is closed and bent inward under the cover 31. Finally, the cardboard box 3 is closed completely and, as usual, further processed, glued and tied. The goods are ready for dispatch. The process is reversed when unpacking. The lid 31 is opened, the valve 20 is pulled outwards. Then the air is released from the valve 20. The goods can be removed, the cushion insert 1 remaining in the cardboard box 3.
  • FIG. 1 The shape of a spread-out cushion insert 1 is shown in FIG. It corresponds to the development of the inner surfaces of a cuboid cardboard box, as shown in Figure 1.
  • the bottom of the box corresponds, the side pillow parts 12, 13, 14, 15 are adjacent and the one side pillow part 15 is adjacent to the cover pillow part 16.
  • the cushion insert 1 consists of two congruent foils which are placed one on top of the other and are welded or glued to one another on their circumference. Between two adjacent cushion parts 11-16, the two foils are partially welded or glued together at the respective transition.
  • a relatively narrow passage 21 between two adjacent pillow parts 11-16 serves to fill all pillow parts 11-16 in the resulting cavity between the foils with air or another suitable gas.
  • the narrow passage 21 can be designed as a safety valve.
  • a valve 20 configured as a blow-in nozzle is arranged.
  • air is blown in between the foils of the cushion insert 1 as described above. It becomes a pillow.
  • the pillow then consists of the 6 pillow parts already described, two of which are connected on a common side and are evenly filled with air.
  • the individual cushion parts 11-16 are divided into interconnected air chambers by alternating weld seams or narrow gluing points 41-43, as in the case of an air mattress.
  • These weld seams 41-43 can be arranged straight 41, meandering 42 or spiral 43 his.
  • FIG. 3 shows a similar insert pad 1 for a cylindrical cardboard box. All parts correspond to the illustration and description in FIG. 2. The only difference is the shape of the pillow parts 12, 14 corresponding to the box bottom and the box lid. The pillow parts 11, 13, 15, 16 come to rest on the inner side surfaces of the cardboard box. They can therefore be designed in a simplified form as a single, undivided cushion part. However, it is recommended that this should also be divided and provided with internal welds. As a result, the packaged goods are evenly protected from sudden heavy loads. The entire insert pad 1 can, if necessary, be divided into two independent chamber systems.
  • a known inflation valve such as is used in air mattresses and inflation figures, can be used as valve 20.
  • the cushion insert 1 In order not to expose the cardboard box and the packaged goods to excessive constant pressure, the cushion insert 1 should not be inflated too much. It is therefore advisable to equip the valve 20 with a pressure limitation. This is also necessary for the transport of such cardboard boxes over high passports and for air freight. Too much inflation could cause the cushion insert 1 to burst and the cardboard boxes to be damaged due to the smaller external pressure at a great height and lead the goods.
  • the valve 20 is arranged approximately centrally on one of the cushion parts 10-16.
  • a recess in the corresponding area of a surface of the cardboard box enables the goods to be packed and the cardboard box to be closed before being inflated.
  • the valve can then be pushed back into the cushion part through the recess in the cardboard box, as is known from inflatable figures.
  • This embodiment has the additional advantage that the cushion insert 1 always remains lying correctly in the cardboard box, since the valve 20 pulled out through the recess fixes the cushion insert 1 in the cardboard box. This can then be used again immediately. Since the padding 1 is not glued to the cardboard box, it can simply be pulled out for recycling purposes in order to separate the material, with the valve 20 being pulled out of the recess on the side wall of the box.
  • the cushion insert 1 can be inflated with a special gas, such as carbon dioxide or the like, for special purposes. This is particularly recommended when packaging flammable substances, since a fire-retardant gas can be used.
  • a special gas such as carbon dioxide or the like
