Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Tisch- oder Abdeckplatte mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffs des Anspruchs 1.
Bei Platten der vorgenannten Art hat der Kantenschutz mehrere Funktionen: Zum einen soll er die Kanten gegen mechanische Beschädigung, zum anderen den Benutzer vor Verletzungen schützen. Besteht die Kernplatte aus einem Holzwerkstoff, sollen ferner die offenporigen Schnittkanten der Kernplatte gegen Verschmutzungen und Feuchtigkeitszutritt geschützt werden. Schließlich soll der Kantenschutz die Griffigkeit der Platte und damit auch die Handhabbarkeit und Transportfähigkeit eines mit der Platte versehenen Möbels oder Küchengerätes, z.B. Tisch, Kühlmöbel, Waschmaschine, Wäschetrockner oder dergleichen, erleichtern. Dem letztgenannten Zweck dient die weiterhin häufig anzutreffende Maßnahme, den Kantenschutz über die Unterseite der Platte hinaus zu verlängern, so daß die Platte sicher untergriffen werden kann. Bei Küchengeräten, bei denen die Abdeckplatte vornehmlich als Abstell- und Arbeitsfläche dient, wird mit dem nach unten gezogenen Kantenschutz das Ziel verfolgt, den Spalt zwischen der Platte und dem Gerätegehäuse abzudecken. Auch sind in diesem Fall an der Unterseite der Platte häufig Funktionsteile, wie Hülsen, Clips und dergleichen aus Kunststoff angespritzt, mittels der die Platte am Gerätegehäuse befestigt ist. Auch diese Funktionsteile werden durch den Kantenschutz verdeckt.
Der Kantenschutz besteht aus einem mechanisch ausreichend stabilen und gegen mehr oder minder aggressive Medien sowie gegen Bewitterung beständigen Kunststoff. Dieser Kunststoff wird in einem Spritzgußwerkzeug, in das die vorgefertigte Kernplatte mit der ein- oder beidseitigen Deckschicht eingelegt wird, auf die offenporigen Schnittkanten der Kernplatte aufgespritzt, so daß der Kunststoff in die Poren eindringt und der Kantenschutz mit der Kernplatte verzahnt wird. Zugleich übergreift der Kantenschutz zumindest die Oberseite der Kernplatte. Damit ergibt sich eine feste und zugleich dichte Verbindung von Kantenschutz und Kernplatte. Es ist ferner bekannt, den Kantenschutz in einem gesonderten Arbeitsgang zu fertigen, z.B. durch Spritzgießen oder durch Extrudieren eines leistenartigen Profils, und in einem weiteren Arbeitsgang durch Kleben mit der Kernplatte zu verbinden.
Das bekannte Anspritzen des Kantenschutzes an der Kernplatte hat den Vorteil, daß sich die angestrebten Funktionen in kostengünstiger Weise erreichen lassen. Von Nachteil ist die Tatsache, daß sich der Kantenschutz nachträglich nicht mehr lösen läßt. Dieses Problem stellt sich aus Umweltschutzgründen dann, wenn die Tischplatte oder Abdeckplatte, gegebenenfalls auch das durch sie konfektionierte Möbel beschädigt oder in anderer Weise wertlos oder unbrauchbar geworden ist und der Abfallverwertung zugeführt werden soll oder aber eine Rücknahmeverpflichtung des Herstellers besteht -eine solche ist z.B. bei Kühlmöbeln vorgesehen- der dann für die Entsorgung und gegebenenfalls Wiederverwertung zu sorgen hat. Es ist dann insbesondere eine Trennung nach Materialien notwendig, so daß es bei Abdeckplatten bzw. Tischplatten wünschenswert ist, den Kantenschutz mit seinem relativ hohen Kunststoffanteil, der im übrigen wiederverwertbar ist, von der Kernplatte ganz oder doch wenigstens größtenteils trennen zu können.
Dies ermöglicht die bekannte Ausführungsform nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 (EP 0 555 738 A1) dadurch, daß der Kantenschutz aus zwei, als geschlossene Rahmen gespritzen Winkelprofilen besteht, von denen ein äußerer Rahmen mit einem langen Schenkel die Schnittflächen der Kernplatte abdeckt und deren Unterseite überragt und mit seinem anderen Schenkel die Oberseite übergreift, während der andere, innere Rahmen mit seinem einen Schenkel der Innenseite des langen Schenkels des äußeren Rahmens an dessen die Unterseite überragenden Bereich und mit seinem anderen Schenkel der Unterseite der Kernplatte anliegt, und daß nach Einlegen der Kernplatte in den äußeren Rahmen, beide Rahmen an ihren einander anliegenden Schenkeln miteinander verbunden sind.
Die beiden geschlossenen Rahmen aus Winkelprofilen lassen sich in einfacher Weise durch Spritzgießen herstellen und weisen damit eine ausreichend formstabile Ausbildung auf. Die vorgefertigte Kernplatte kann von oben in den auf seinem kurzen Schenkel liegenden, äußeren Rahmen eingelegt werden, so daß sie mit ihrer Oberseite auf der Innenseite dieses Schenkels des Winkelprofils aufliegt, während der andere längere Schenkel nach oben ragt. Anschließend wird der innere Rahmen bei etwa paralleler Anordnung mit dem äußeren Rahmen von oben auf die Unterseite der Kernplatte aufgebracht, bis sein einer Schenkel der Unterseite der Kernplatte aufliegt. Durch Verbinden der einander anliegenden Schenkein ist ein geschlossenes rahmenartiges Gebilde gegeben, das die Kernplatte vollständig umgibt, deren gegebenenfalls offenporige Schnittflächen abdeckt und die Kanten der Kernplatte ober- und unterseitig übergreift, so daß die Schnittflächen gegen Zutritt von Schmutz und Feuchtigkeit wirksam geschützt sind. Damit ergibt sich ein ebenso funktionsgerechter Aufbau wie bei einem aufgespritzten Kantenschutz. Auf der anderen Seite ist es aber ohne weiteres möglich, den Kantenschutz mit geringem Kraftaufwand von der Kernplatte zu entfernen und diese beiden Komponenten sortenrein zu gewinnen, da es an einer stoffschlüssigen bzw. -bei aufgespritztem Kantenschutz- innigen Verbindung von Kanteschutz und Kernplatte fehlt.
Die bekannte Platte hat dann, wenn sie als Abdeckplatte für Haushaltsmaschinen und -geräte außer einer Feuchtigkeitsbelastung auch einer thermischen Belastung ausgesetzt ist, gewisse Nachteile. Es kann insbesondere zum Verwölben der Platte, aber auch zu Beschädigungen des Kantenschutzes kommen. Dies gilt insbesondere für Abdeckplatten von Waschmaschinen, Spülmaschinen, Trocknern oder dergleichen.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, die zuvor beschriebene bekannte Platte dahingehend weiterzubilden, daß sie bei ausreichendem Feuchtigkeitsschutz thermischen Belastungen beschädigungsfrei standhält.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch die kennzeichnenden Merkmale des Anspruchs 1 gelöst.
Bei der erfindungemäßen Ausbildung ist zunächst zwischen dem den Kantenschutz bildenden Rahmen und den seitlichen Stirnflächen der Kernplatte ein Spalt vorhanden, der als Dehnungsspalt dient. Dieser Spalt gibt der Platte beim Dehnen aufgrund einer Temperaturwechselbeanspruchung einen ausreichenden Spielraum für Dehnungsbewegungen in der Plattenebene. Die Platte ist also durch den Kantenschutz nicht fest eingespannt. Sie kann sich folglich nicht verwölben. Ebenso wenig wird der Kantenschutz durch die Dehnungsbewegungen der Platte beansprucht, so daß es weder zu Beschädigungen an der Platte, noch am Kantenschutz kommen kann. Andererseits wird mit der Dichtung, die zwischen dem die Oberseite der Kernplatte übergreifenden Schenkel des äußeren Rahmens und der Kernplatte angeordnet ist, der Zutritt von Feuchtigkeit, die sich vornehmlich an der Oberseite der Kernplatte, die die Arbeitsfläche bildet, ansammelt, verhindert.
Entsprechend ist auch zwischen dem die Unterseite der Kernplatte übergreifenden Schenkel des inneren Rahmens und dieser Unterseite eine Dichtung angeordnet, so daß jeglicher Feuchtigkeitszutritt zu den Schnittflächen der Kernplatte wirksam verhindert ist. Dabei ist weiterhin vorgesehen, daß der Schenkel des äußeren bzw. inneren Rahmens an der der Kernplatte zugekehrten Seite eine umlaufende Vertiefung zur Aufnahme der Dichtung aufweist.
Mit dieser Ausbildung ist es möglich, daß die elastische Dichtung die entsprechende Oberfläche des Schenkels nur wenig überragt, um eine ausreichende Dichtwirkung zu erzielen, andererseits liegt der Schenkel so eng an der Kernplatte an, daß Schmutz, Staub oder dergleichen nicht zwischen Schenkel und Kernplatte eindringen kann.
Die hier in Rede stehenden Haushaltsmaschinen, wie Spülmaschinen, Waschmaschinen oder Trockner weisen ein thermisch isoliertes Gehäuse auf. Die Erfindung gibt die Möglichkeit, auf die Isolation des Gehäuses im oberen Bereich teilweise oder ganz zu verzichten und stattdessen die Abdeckplatte unterhalb der Kernplatte mit einer entsprechenden Isolationsplatte zu versehen, die die thermische Isolierung nach oben übernimmt. Diese plattenförmige Isolation kann auf die Kernplatte beispielsweise aufgeklebt sein.
Die Dichtung kann entweder in die Vertiefung eingespritzt oder als bandförmige Dichtung eingeklebt sein.
Gemäß einer weiteren Ausführungsform ist vorgesehen, daß der innere Rahmen einen sich über die gesamte Höhe der Schnittfläche der Kernplatte erstrekkenden Schenkel aufweist, der der Unterseite des die Oberseite der Kernplatte übergreifenden Schenkels des äußeren Rahmens anliegt und der den Spalt an seiner einen Seite begrenzt.
Auf diese Weise ergibt sich ein außerordentlich stabiler Kantenschutz, der zudem den notwendigen Dehnungspalt zwischen sich und der Kernplatte beläßt.
Dabei kann die Ausbildung so getroffen sein, daß der sich über die Schnittfläche der Kernplatte erstrekkende Schenkel des inneren Rahmens bis zur Unterkante des längeren Schenkels des äußeren Rahmens reicht und mit diesem über den weiteren Schenkel verbunden ist.
Die beiden den Kantenschutz bildenden Winkelprofile sind bei der vorgenannten Ausführungsform zu einem geschlossenen Rahmen mit außenseitig glatter Oberfläche verbunden.
Der Spalt zwischen Kernplatte und innerem Rahmen kann an den jeweiligen Bedarfsfall angepaßt werden. Dabei empfiehlt sich als Minimalmaß eine Spaltbreite von allseitig wenigstens 0,5mm. Mit diesem Spalt können natürlich auch Fertigungstoleranzen zwischen Kantenschutz und Kernplatte ausgeglichen werden.
Nachstehend ist die Erfindung anhand einiger in der Zeichnung wiedergebener Ausführungsbeispiele beschrieben, die in den Figuren 1 und 2 einen Schnitt durch den Kantenschutz und durch die abgebrochen dargestellte Kernplatte zeigt.
Die Abdeck- oder Tischplatte weist in sämtlichen Ausführungsformen eine Kernplatte 1 aus einem Holzwerkstoff auf, die zumindest an ihrer Oberseite 2 gegebenenfalls auch an ihrer Unterseite 3 mit einer feuchtigkeitsdichten Deckschicht versehen ist, während die Schnittflächen 4 offen sind und in der Regel eine porige Oberfläche besitzen. Ferner weist die Platte einen Kantenschutz 5 auf, der die Schnittflächen 4 abdeckt und zugleich die Kernplatte 1 an der Oberseite 2 und der Unterseite 3 übergreift und zusätzlich zur Schutzfunktion den Zutritt von Feuchtigkeit zur Schnittfläche verhindert.
Bei allen Ausführungsbeispielen besteht der Kantenschutz aus einem äußeren Rahmen 6 und einem inneren Rahmen 7, die jeweils aus einem Winkelprofil bestehen. Beide Rahmen sind getrennt durch Spritzgießen hergestellt. Der äußere Rahmen 6 weist einen kurzen Schenkel 8 und einen langen Schenkel 9 auf. Mit dem Schenkel 8 übergreift der äußere Rahmen 6 die Oberseite 2 der Kernplatte 1, während der längere Schenkel 9 die Unterseite 3 der Kernplatte 1 nach unten überragt. Der innere Rahmen 7 weist einen der Unterseite 3 der Kernplatte 1 anliegenden kurzen Schenkel 12 und einen weiteren Schenkel 11 auf, mit dem er mit dem längeren Schenkel 9 des äußeren Rahmens 6 verbunden ist. beispielsweise durch Schweißen. Kleben oder dergleichen. Schließlich weist der innere Rahmen 7 einen Schenkel 13 auf. der sich über die Höhe der Schnittfläche 4 der Kernplatte 1 erstreckt.
Zwischen dem Schenkel 13 und der Schnittfläche 4 der Kernplatte ist ein Spalt 10 vorhanden, der als Dehnungsspalt für die Kernplatte 1 dient. Dieser Spalt sollte an wenigstens zwei benachbarten Schnittflächen der Kernplatte 1 vorhanden sein, kann gegebenenfalls aber auch umlaufend sein.
Zwischen dem kurzen Schenkel 8 des äußeren Rahmens 6 und der Oberseite 2 der Kernplatte 1 ist eine elastische Dichtung 14 angeordnet, die in eine Vertiefung 15 an dem Schenkel 8 eingespritzt, eingegossen oder eingeklebt ist. Eine weitere Dichtung 16 ist zwischen dem Schenkel 12 des inneren Rahmens 7 und der Unterseite 3 der Kernplatte 1 angeordnet, die wiederum in eine Vertiefung 17 an dem Schenkel 12 eingebracht ist. Diese Dichtungen verhindern den Feuchtigkeitszutritt zu der Schnittfläche 4 der Kernplatte 1.
Das Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Figur 2 unterscheidet sich von dem der Figur 1 lediglich dadurch, daß an der Unterseite 3 der Kernplatte 1 eine Isolierplatte 18 angeordnet ist, die zwischen der abzudeckenden Haushaltsmaschine und der Kernplatte eine thermische Isolierung bildet.

Claims (5)

  1. Tisch- oder Abdeckplatte, bestehend aus wenigstens einer Kernplatte (1) aus einem Holzwerkstoff mit einer Oberseite (2), einer Unterseite (3) und seitlichen Schnittflächen (4) und einem die Oberseite und die Unterseite der Kernplatte übergreifenden, umlaufenden Kantenschutz (5) aus einem Kunststoffprofil, der aus zwei, als geschlossene Rahmen (6, 7) gespritzten Winkelprofilen besteht, von denen ein äußerer Rahmen (6) mit einem langen Schenkel (9) die Unterseite (3) der Kernplatte (1) überragt und mit seinem anderen Schenkel (8) die Oberseite übergreift, während der andere, innere Rahmen (7) mit seinem einen Schenkel (11) der Innenseite des langen Schenkels (9) des äußeren Rahmens an dessen die Unterseite (3) überragenden Bereich und mit einem weiteren Schenkel (12) der Unterseite (3) der Kernplatte (1) anliegt, wobei zwischen der Kernplatte (1) und dem inneren Rahmen (7) bzw. dem äusseren Rahmen (6) elastische Dichtungen (14, 16) angeordnet sind und nach Einlegen der Kernplatte (1) in den äußeren Rahmen und Aufsetzen des inneren Rahmens auf die Kernplatte, beide Rahmen an ihren einander anliegenden Schenkeln (9, 11) miteinander verbunden werden, und der innere Rahmen (7) einen sich über die gesamte Höhe der Schnittfläche (4) der Kernplatte (1) erstreckenden Schenkel (13) aufweist, der der Unterseite des die Oberseite (2) der Kernplatte übergreifenden Schenkels (8) des äußeren Rahmens (5) anliegt dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zwischen dem inneren Rahmen (7) und wenigstens zwei benachbarten Schnittflächen (4) der Kernplatte (1) ein Spalt (10) vorgesehen ist, der an der der Schnittfläche gegenüberliegenden Seite von dem sich über die Höhe der Schnittfläche erstrekenden Schenkel (13) begrenzt ist und daß die Dichtungen (14, 16) jeweils nur zwischen dem die Oberseite (2) der Kernplatte (1) übergreifenden Schenkel des äußeren Rahmen (6) und der Oberseite der Kernplatte (1) und zwischen dem der Unterseite (3) der Kernplatte (1) anliegenden Schenkel (12) des inneren Rahmens (7) und der Unterseite der Kernplatte angeordnet sind, und daß diese Schenkel (8, 12) des äußeren bzw. inneren Rahmens (6, 7) an der der Kernplatte (1) zugekehrten Seite je eine umlaufende Vertiefung (15, 17) zur Aufnahme der Dichtung aufweisen.
  2. Platte nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dichtung (14, 16) in die Vertiefung (15, 17) eingespritzt ist.
  3. Platte nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dichtung eingeklebt ist.
  4. Platte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der sich über die Schnittfläche (4) der Kernplatte (1) erstreckende Schenkel (13) des inneren Rahmens (7) bis zur Unterkante des längeren Schenkels (9) des äußeren Rahmens (5) reicht und mit diesem über den weiteren Schenkel (11) verbunden ist.
  5. Platte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Spalt (10) zwischen dem inneren Rahmen (17) und den seitlichen Schnittflächen (4) der Kernplatte (1) allseitig wenigstens 0,5mm beträgt.
