Definitions
- the present invention relates to devices for connection in which the connection of an insulated wire to a insulation displacement contact is made by a push button carrying the wire insulated and sliding on the contact. She wears more particularly on a connection pusher of this type and on a connection strip equipped with such pushers.
- the document FR-A-2 666 953 describes a strip of connection with insulation displacement contacts mounted in a body insulation and sliding push-buttons on the contacts.
- the insulating body has chimneys open on one of its front faces, in each of which extends one of the contacts. Each pusher thus slides in one of the chimneys, along a insulation displacement fork of the contact, between a position pressed in to connect the insulated wire to the contact and a retracted position for inserting the insulated wire into the pusher or disconnecting the insulated wire previously connected to the contact.
- the button is simple and then assigned to connection of an insulated wire to a contact or is double and then assigned to the simultaneous connection of two insulated wires with two contacts side by side of the strip.
- the pusher single or double is made of plastic.
- the single pusher has two legs longitudinal facing each other, which are integral with a terminal actuating head and are provided opposite an insulated wire insertion hole through each of them. It also has a Vee for guiding the insulated wire in the holes of the legs, which is integral with the head and extends on the outside and opposite one of the legs, having its bottom aligned with the holes and its opening facing the actuating head. This Vee slides on the outside of one of the walls of the chimney when the legs slide on either side of the contact, along the insulation displacement fork of this contact.
- a calibrated wire nipping slot is provided insulated in the chimney wall against which the Vé slides guidance. It is therefore necessary to provide the simple pusher with a cumulative effort, which corresponds to the insertion effort of the insulated wire in and along the insulation displacement fork of the contact and at the effort of inserting the insulated wire into and along this slit calibrated pinch.
- the double pusher has two pairs of legs side by side and two guide V on the same side of the legs, which are all integral with the terminal actuation head.
- the cumulative effort at providing it is double the previous one. It may be limited for finger actuation of the double pusher, from its position retracted to its depressed position.
- the object of the present invention is to facilitate actuation of the pusher, in particular when it is double, without degrading the quality of the connection of each wire in contact and the mechanical resistance of this wire to the right of his contact.
- a push button for connecting a wire isolated at a insulation displacement contact, by sliding of said pusher on said contact comprising a terminal actuating head and at least one pair of longitudinal jambs facing one of the other, integral with said head and provided opposite insulated wire insertion hole, characterized in that both legs of each pair are further provided opposite calibrated pinch slot of the insulated wire, open in the hole of the jamb and directed towards said head.
- connection strip equipped with such pushers, comprising an insulating body, chimneys defined in the insulating body and open on one side said front of said body, insulation displacement contacts mounted in the insulating body, each extending in one chimneys and provided with a self-stripping fork, itself open opposite said front face, and said push buttons mounted in the insulating body by sliding in chimneys and on said contacts, between a position pressed in connection and a partially out position chimneys and said retracted, and in which said chimneys each have a first wall parallel to the internal contact and provided with an elongated passage located in look of the insulation displacement fork of this contact and affected to the insulated wire connected to this contact, characterized in that said passage is a light closed at its two ends and having a width at least equal to the diameter of the wire insulated, one end of said lumen being substantially terminal on the chimney and close to said front face of the insulating body and serving as a stop for the forced slip of the insulated wire, from the slots of pinching the holes in
- connection strip comprises an insulating body 1, in which two rows of insulation displacement contacts 2 are mounted, parallel to its large longitudinal faces, and slide pushers 3.
- This insulating body has two rows of chimneys 4, open on a front face, for contacts and pushers.
- Chimneys are defined by transverse partitions denoted 5A and 5B, which are alternately discontinuous and continuous across the width of the insulating body, and by a longitudinal row of partitions medians 6, common to two chimneys of each of the rows and constituting shims in the strip.
- the insulated wires to be connected to the contacts are designated below under reference 7.
- the body is in two parts, one front 1A and the other rear 1B, which are assembled to each other and in which the contacts extend.
- This strip is connected with insulated wires to contacts, made entirely on the front panel, by pushers 3.
- pushers 3 are double here for the simultaneous connection of two insulated wires in the fork insulation displacement 2A, accessible on the front panel, with two contacts side by side in the same row.
- the pushers 3 are identical to each other and described more particularly with regard to FIGS. 3 and 4, representing one of them.
- the pusher 3 has two pairs of jams 11 and 12 referenced identically on the two pairs and secured to a terminal actuating head 10. Both legs of each pair are facing each other. They each have an identical circular hole 13 or 14, in opposite in their terminal part opposite the head 10, inserting an insulated wire through each of them. they have also a 15 or 16 calibrated slot, also opposite, open in the hole of the jamb and directed towards the head, pinch of the insulated wire inserted in the holes then forced into the pinch slots 15 and 16.
- the two pairs jambs are side by side and have a separation slit 17 between them, to slide on either side of one transverse partitions 5A of the insulating body ( Figure 2).
- the two legs of each pair have a slit of separation 18 between them, to slide on both sides of the contact.
- This pusher 3 further comprises a tab 20, relatively rigid extending opposite the two pairs of jambs, along their length, and presenting two Vs of guide 21 for the two insulated wires to be inserted in the holes in the two pairs of legs.
- the bottom of each Vé guide is aligned with the holes 13 and 14 of the two legs corresponding, its opening being on the side of the head 10 and its branches stiffening the pusher.
- Each of these two Vés guide crosses right through the tab on the part 21A of this Vé located to the right of holes 13 and 14 and pinch slots 15 and 16 of the two legs corresponding but is not crossing over the part end of the tab located on the side of the head, so as not to be than outside on this terminal part of the leg.
- This leg 20 and the two pairs of legs have a separation slot 23 between them, so that the tab slides on the outside of two side by side chimneys insulating body, when the pairs of legs slide in these two chimneys.
- This tab 20 extends opposite to the head by an elastic arm 24 projecting from the legs 11 and 12.
- This projecting arm is provided with a slot elasticity 25, open on the end of the arm, and two lateral teeth 26 and 27, on this same end. he further has an axial groove 28 on its face interior located on the side of the jambs.
- the lateral teeth 26 and 27 limit the stroke of the pusher, when this pusher is placed in the retracted position on the insulating body.
- the head 10 is slightly protruding on both sides of the two pairs of jambs and close them insulating body chimneys.
- the two outer legs, not opposite the tab 20, and such as the legs 11 each have a terminal notch defining a notch 31 under the head.
- Each notch constitutes a means of taking on the pusher, in particular for its actuation of its position pressed towards its retracted position.
- test holes 32 and 33 are provided, made through the head and each opening on the bottom from one of the slots such as 18 between the two legs of the same pair, near the inner end indented from the bottom of each of these slots.
- the insulating body 1 has a series of lights oblong 35 along each row of contacts. Each light is next to the insulation displacement fork of one contacts and is made on one of the walls of the chimney, which is parallel to the contact. In this realization, with two rows of contacts and with cables cut 6 defining between the rows of the common walls for the facing chimneys, these lights are made on the large longitudinal walls of the insulating body.
- the 35A ends of these lights, located near the front side, are closed. They are aligned with the entrance of the insulation displacement fork of the contacts and are provided to be aligned with the holes 13 and 14 of the legs of the pushers, when these pushers are in the retracted position.
- the insulating body 1 has, on its large walls longitudinal, a series of stop bridges 36 affected to the different pushers. These bridges 36 are slightly externally salient. Each of them receives the arm 24 of one of the pushers and allows the sliding of this arm against the wall of the body, when positioning pressed in the pusher, and the retainer in abutment of the teeth terminals 26 and 27 of this arm when the pusher arrives in retracted position made limit.
- a series is further provided. of external grooves 38 made on its large walls and open on the front side. Each of these grooves is centered between the two chimneys receiving one of the pushers and corresponds to the groove 28 of this pusher.
- the grooves 38 and 28 face each other and prevent the walls are juxtaposed and thus lengthen the lines of leakage. They allow the evaporation of any traces humidity channeled on the outside of the chimneys.
- FIGS 5 and 6 make it possible to specify the functions provided by the pushbuttons and the strip as well equipped.
- push-button 3 concerned For the connection of two insulated wires 7 to two side-by-side contacts, push-button 3 concerned is put in retracted limit position, for which both teeth lateral 26 and 27 are in abutment on the external trigger guard 36 to the two corresponding chimneys, as illustrated in left in these figures 5 and 6.
- the wires 7 are inserted round alternately in the holes of the jambs, using the Vé de corresponding guide 21 to more easily bring each wire in these holes.
- Each wire is simultaneously received in the end 35A of the light 35.
- the connection of the two wire at both contacts 2 is achieved by pressing the pusher.
- Each of the wires then first enters the pinch slots 15 and 16 provided on the legs then in the insulation displacement fork of the contact.
- a screwdriver is advantageously used or the like, which is placed in the notches 31 of the push-button in the depressed position, to pry on the cable 6, at least during the start of the stroke of the pusher towards its retracted position.
- This mode actuation allows to leave only weak intervals between the heads of the depressed pushers or between the heads and shims on the front of the strip.
- the two wires isolated come out of the two insulation displacement forks 2A from both contacts concerned then pinch slots 15, 16 of legs, as soon as the clamping force in the slots pinch is greater than that of clamping in insulation displacement forks.
- the closed end 35A of the two lights 35 in which these wires slide during their disconnection ensures the complete exit of the two wires from their pinch slot.
- the wires can then be extracts without resistance from holes 13 and 14 in which they are brought back.
- Figure 6 further shows that the contacts cross a base 1C of the front part 1A of the body insulating, being retained in this base and that two opposite contacts on the two rows are elastically in pressure against each other in the part rear 1B of the insulating body.
- This rear part is compartmentalized transversely by partitions 5C, having between them a not double that of the partitions of the front part 1A of the insulating body 1 and corresponding to only partitions 5B ( Figure 2), and longitudinally by the shims 6.
- These cables pass through the base 1C and are sliding in this base. Each ensures or does not cut two pairs of opposite contacts on the two rows.
- She is made of an insulating material. She is present in the form of a parallelepiped plate 40, having a pair of cutting arms 41 and a pair of abutment arms 42 integral with each other and by a connecting lug 43 of the wafer 40.
- the arms 41 are in the plane of the plate and the arms 42 are transverse. They define together the so-called end back of the tail, coming in the back part of the body insulating.
- One of the pairs of arms, here the arms 41 ensures the guide of the cable in the rear part, between two partitions 5C. This pair of arms is for this purpose length substantially equal to the corresponding dimension of each compartment of the rear part.
- the cutting arms 41 have their face located opposite of the plate having a rounded shape, so that they fit more easily between pressure contacts elastic.
- the arms 42 are of rectangular cross section and intended to limit the travel of the cable during its setting in the cut-off position, by abutment of these arms against the base of the front part.
- This cutting wire 6 has on its end said before two quasi-terminal 44 notches in the large faces of the wafer, for its actuation in cut-off position.
- Each cutting block also serves as an end stop insertion of the two wires in one or other of the pushers on both sides of it.
- connection pushers and pinching of each insulated wire at the right of contact to which this wire is connected can be pushers simple.
- the strip equipped with pushers can have several double rows of contacts, each double row being identical to that of the strip shown with a middle row of shims associated cut, or may include any number of rows of contacts, with each contact accessible opposite front and rear and not under pressure with the contact opposite and without cutting blocks between them.
- the simple pushers or double can be fitted with position retaining teeth retracted, no longer on the outside of the chimneys concerned but on the inside of these chimneys. So these teeth of retainers can be lateral on the single pair of legs or on both pairs or on an extending arm one of the legs of the single pair or both pairs, to come into abutment on shoulders then provided in correspondence inside the insulating body.
