Description

DOMAINE TECHNIQUE
La présente invention concerne les fauteuils roulants utilisés par les handicapés et les invalides et elle vise, indifféremment, les fauteuils roulants pliants ou non.
Il est incontestable que les fauteuils roulants ont apporté une possibilité de mobilité aux handicapés et invalides. Ces fauteuils roulants possèdent, toutefois, plusieurs inconvénients tenant au fait que les utilisateurs ne peuvent occuper qu'une position assise, par ailleurs, maintenue en général pendant des durées relativement longues. Pour tenter de remédier aux inconvénients tenant à cette seule possibilité d'utilisation, différentes propositions ont été formulées pour que de tels fauteuils soient rendus verticalisateurs, afin de permettre de maintenir l'utilisateur dans une position sensiblement debout.
ART ANTÉRIEUR
En règle générale, les propositions formulées font intervenir une structure articulée comprenant un dossier, une assise et un repose-pieds. Une telle structure est montée articulée généralement par l'assise sur un axe frontal horizontal et perpendiculaire au plan de symétrie vertical du chassis. Un moyen moteur est interposé entre le châssis et la structure pour permettre l'élévation ou l'abaissement de cette dernière, ainsi à même d'occuper une position repliée dite assise et une position dépliée dite verticalisée. L'organe moteur peut être indifféremment à commande manuelle, électrique ou autre.
Pour illustrer cette technique antérieure, il est possible de citer, entre autres, le FR-A-2 020 453, le DE-A-26 25 045 ou encore le FR-A-2 529 456
Ces différentes propositions répondent certainement à l'objectif de verticalisation visé et, en ce sens, ont apporté un mieux-être incontestable aux utilisateurs.
Les propositions structurelles qui ont été formulées par la technique antérieure s'appuient généralement sur l'articulation de la structure articulée sur un axe frontal horizontal et perpendiculaire au plan de symétrie vertical du châssis et prenant appui sur ce dernier.
Une telle organisation a pour effet, dans la fonction de verticalisation, de transférer la structure articulée et l'utilisateur verticalisé vers la partie antérieure du fauteuil avec pour conséquence un accroissement de la charge sur les roues antérieures et une réduction de celle des roues postérieures.
Une telle conséquence introduit un facteur d'instabilité, étant donné que le polygone d'appui ne se trouve pas chargé de façon également répartie. C'est la raison pour laquelle, en règle générale, des points d'appui supplémentaires sont prévus pour stabiliser le fauteuil dans l'état de verticalisation de la structure articulée. De tels points d'appui supplémentaires sont fréquemment, pour ne pas dire toujours, constitués par des roulettes, des patins, des béquilles ou encore par des talons qui sont prévus de construction dans le prolongement du repose-pieds, de manière à prendre appui sur le sol dans l'état verticalisé de la structure articulée.
Si une telle proposition, au sens général, permet de conférer un facteur de stabilité et de sécurité certain pour les utilisateurs, en revanche, elle pose un problème insurmontable lorsqu'il convient de tenir compte de la volonté de rendre les fauteuils roulants, mobiles, même dans l'état verticalisé de la structure articulée. Une telle tendance correspond au souhait des utilisateurs de pouvoir recouvrer, par un tel moyen, une forme de vie et d'autonomie parfaitement compréhensibles.
Pouvoir concilier un tel souhait avec la technique actuelle semble incompatible avec la recherche d'une grande stabilité et, le cas échéant, d'une bonne maniabilité.
Pour tenter de remédier à une telle exigence double, des propositions de construction différente ont été faites par la technique antérieure. Il a ainsi été proposé, par exemple comme cela est illustré par le brevet US 3 907 051, de placer les moyens de motorisation dans un caisson postérieur, de manière à lester le fauteuil roulant pour abaisser le centre de gravité et équilibrer la surcharge frontale qui s'établit dans la position verticalisée.
Une telle proposition doit certainement permettre de répondre pour partie aux problèmes de la stabilité et de la sécurité, mais n'apparaít pas exploitable dans toutes les configurations et avec toutes les énergies susceptibles d'être mises en oeuvre pour assurer la motorisation du fauteuil roulant.
Par ailleurs, une telle proposition apparait difficilement compatible, avec le souhait de disposer d'un fauteuil roulant qui soit toujours pliable pour permettre son transport aisé, notamment dans un véhicule automobile.
La technique antérieure connait une proposition différente par la demande WO 82-01314 qui préconise de monter sur le châssis du fauteuil roulant une structure articulée qui, lors du passage en position verticalisée, connaít un rétro-déplacement relatif ayant pour effet de placer l'ensemble de la structure et de l'utilisateur sensiblement en alignement avec l'axe vertical passant par le centre du polygone d'appui que constitue ou que définit le châssis.
De cette manière, la charge générale verticalisée est répartie par rapport au polygone d'appui et confère à ce dernier une stabilité certaine permettant d'envisager la motorisation et le déplacement du fauteuil roulant, même dans cet état de verticalisation.
L'examen de la proposition permet toutefois de constater que la technologie proposée par la demande WO 82-01314, est relativement compliquée et met en oeuvre un nombre élevé de points d'articulation entre les différents éléments de la structure articulée et de nombreuses liaisons par biellettes liant la structure au châssis.
Ces nombreuses liaisons d'articulation fragilisent la construction, alourdissent l'ensemble et exigent un entretien constant pour éviter qu'un dysfonctionnement local quelconque ne se traduise par un repliement ou un dépliement défectueux, susceptible de conduire à des accidents.
Par ailleurs, une grande partie de ces articulations sont placées en partie avant du fauteuil et notamment dans une zone frontale à l'assise avec pour effet de gêner l'accès à cette dernière pour un handicapé ou un invalide.
De plus, le fait de provoquer automatiquement le rétro-déplacement de la structure articulée implique de déplacer dans le même sens le repose-pieds, d'une position frontale correspondant à un état assis à une position reculée correspondant à un état verticalisé.
Ce déplacement dans le sens antéro-postérieur au cours des deux mouvements implique de laisser subsister le gabarit de passage suffisant pour le repose-pieds et pose un problème difficilement soluble d'adaptation sur le châssis de roues antérieures, pivotantes et directionnelles, généralement de plus petit diamètre que les roues arrières porteuses, comme cela est le plus fréquemment adopté pour les fauteuils roulants.
Cette sujétion vient compliquer la fabrication du fauteuil, ainsi que la réalisation de ce dernier dans un gabarit d'encombrement notamment transversal, compatible avec les différents domaines d'utilisation, tels que l'usage domestique, pour lequel un passage entre les jambages d'huisserie de portes normalisées doit être rendu possible.
Le nombre d'articulations et le grand nombre de biellettes de liaison ont aussi pour incidence d'alourdir considérablement le fauteuil équipé qui devient moins manipulable, tout en exigeant de la part de l'utilisateur une dépense physique plus importante lorsque le déplacement du fauteuil n'est pas assuré ou assisté par une motorisation embarquée.
La présente invention vise à remédier aux inconvénients ci-dessus en proposant des nouveaux moyens de liaison entre une structure articulée et un châssis de fauteuil roulant verticalisateur, de tels moyens, tout en autorisant une verticalisation, permettant par ailleurs de provoquer, automatiquement et simultanément à la phase de verticalisation, un rétro-déplacement de la structure articulée pour centrer la charge verticalisée par rapport au polygone d'appui et conférer ainsi au fauteuil placé dans un tel état d'utilisation une stabilité et une sécurité autorisant une mobilité et une faculté de déplacement manuel ou motorisé, sans aucun risque pour le sujet verticalisé.
Un autre objet de l'invention est de proposer des moyens de support et d'articulation qui soient simples, fiables, légers et peu onéreux, de manière à rendre possible une adaptation dans les meilleures conditions, sans pour autant alourdir considérablement le fauteuil et rendre ainsi possible, le cas échéant, une adaptation sur des fauteuils pliants.
EXPOSÉ DE L'INVENTION
Pour atteindre les objectifs ci-dessus, le dispositif-élévateur pour fatiteuil roulant verticalisateur est caractérisé en ce que
  • l'assise et le repose-pieds ne présentent aucune articulation directe l'un avec l'autre, et sont montés sur les extrémités supérieures de deux quadrilatères déformables, s'élevant à partir du châssis et possédant une partie mobile commune,
  • les moyens de commande en élévation-abaissement comprennent un organe moteur interposé entre le châssis et l'un des organes mobiles de l'un des quadrilatères et apte à commander le déplacement desdits quadrilatères entre un état stable replié correspondant à une position dite assise de la structure et un état stable déplié correspondant à une position dite de verticalisation de la structure dans laquelle la masse que représente cette dernière est sensiblement centrée par rapport au polygone d'appui.
L'invention a aussi pour objet un fauteuil roulant verticalisateur comportant une structure articulée liée au châssis par les moyens ci-dessus.
Diverses autres caractéristiques ressortent de la description faite ci-dessous en référence aux dessins annexés qui montrent, à titre d'exemples non limitatifs, des formes de réalisation de l'objet de l'invention.
BRÈVE DESCRIPTION DES DESSINS
La figure 1 est une élévation latérale schématique d'un fauteuil conforme à l'invention.
La figure 2 est une vue frontale, prise selon la ligne II-II de la figure 1.
Les figures 3 et 4 sont des vues analogues à la figure 1, illustrant le fauteuil dans deux positions caractéristiques.
La figure 5 est une vue frontale analogue à la figure 2, mais illustrant une variante de réalisation.
MEILLEURE MANIÈRE DE RÉALISER L'INVENTION
Les figures 1 et 2 montrent schématiquement un fauteuil roulant 1 comprenant un châssis 2 constitué par un cadre inférieur 3, par exemple formé par des longerons 4 réunis par des traverses 5 et 6. Il va de soi que cette forme de réalisation n'est donnée qu'à titre d'exemple et de façon schématique, dans le seul souci d'alléger la représentation tout en permettant la compréhension de l'objet de l'invention. Ainsi, le châssis 2 est pourvu, de façon habituellement connue, de roues 7 généralement porteuses, principales et motrices et de roues 8 directrices, orientables par l'intermédiaire de pivots 9. Les roues 8 sont généralement, mais non obligatoirement, placées à la partie avant du châssis 2, alors que les roues porteuses 7 occupent la partie arrière. Les roues 7 et 8 définissent, par les points de contact avec le sol S, un polygone d'appui ou de sustentation par le centre duquel passe un axe vertical x-x'. Les roues 7 sont montées sur le châssis 2 par l'intermédiaire de paliers 10 et peuvent être avantageusement associées à des organes moteurs d'entraínement en rotation réversible 11, tels qu'un ou des moteurs électriques susceptibles d'être alimentés à partir d'une source 12 embarquée et disposée sur une console 13 placée entre des montants 14.
Le châssis 2 supporte, de manière conventionnelle, une structure articulée comprenant une assise 20, un dossier 21 et un repose-pieds 22. D'une façon connue, la structure articulée est organisée pour pouvoir occuper un état stable, replié, correspondant à une position dite assise, tel qu'illustré par la figure 1 et un état stable, déplié, correspondant à une position de verticalisation, tel qu'illustré par la figure 4. Dans ces deux positions et par des moyens connus de la technique et non représentés, la structure articulée est apte à supporter un handicapé ou invalide dans une position assise et dans une position verticalisée respectivement.
Selon l'invention, la structure articulée est organisée de manière que l'assise 20 soit portée par le châssis 2 par l'intermédiaire d'un moyen d'articulation 23 en forme de quadrilatère déformable, un tel moyen étant par exemple organisé en deux ensembles latéraux 24. Chaque ensemble comprend une partie articulée arrière ou biellette 25 et une partie articulée avant ou biellette 26 qui sont respectivement montées par des axes 27 et 28 sur les montants arrière 14 et sur les longerons 4. Les extrémités supérieures des parties articulées ou biellettes 25 ou 26 portent l'assise 20 par l'intermédiaire d'axes d'articulation 29 et 30 qui sont respectivement placés sensiblement dans la partie médiane de la face inférieure de l'assise 20 et à la partie frontale de cette dernière. Dans l'état replié, la partie 25 s'étend à partir des montants 14 vers l'avant, selon une direction sensiblement horizontale, alors que la partie articulée avant 26 s'étend également vers l'avant mais selon une inclinaison montante à partir du châssis 2.
Le dossier 21 est monté, selon l'invention, par un axe d'articulation 31 sur la partie postérieure de l'assise 20 et se trouve lié à cette dernière par un moyen d'articulation 32 en forme de quadrilatère déformable. Le moyen 32 comporte une partie mobile qui est commune au quadrilatère déformable 23.
Le moyen 32 est par exemple constitué par un prolongement 21a s'étendant vers le bas à partir du dossier 21 et sur lequel se trouve articulée, par un axe 33, une partie mobile 34, telle qu'une ou deux biellettes liées par un axe 35 à la ou aux parties arrière 25 constitutives du quadrilatère déformable 23.
La partie mobile 34 peut être organisée également en deux ensembles latéraux de la même manière que les ensembles 24.
Le repose-pieds 22 est, de préférence, constitué par deux jambages 40 pourvus chacun à la base d'une semelle 41. Les deux jambages 40 sont indépendants et dépourvus d'articulation avec l'assise 20 et sont portés par le châssis 2 par l'intermédiaire d'un moyen d'articulation 42, du type quadrilatère déformable, de préférence, aussi organisé comme les autres quadrilatères sous la forme de deux ensembles latéraux. Chaque ensemble latéral comprend une partie antérieure 43 articulée par un axe 44 sur le châssis 2 et portant le jambage correspondant par un axe d'articulation supérieur 45. Chaque ensemble latéral fait également intervenir pour la constitution du quadrilatère déformable, un élément commun avec le quadrilatère déformable 23, un tel élément commun étant constitué par la partie avant 26 qui se trouve, dans un tel cas, située postérieurement à la partie antérieure 42. Pour assumer cette fonction, la partie antérieure 26 est pourvue, en dessous de son point d'articulation 30 avec l'assise 20, d'un prolongement 46 sur lequel est monté le jambage 40 par l'intermédiaire d'un axe d'articulation 47.
La partie 43 antérieure de chaque quadrilatère déformable 42 s'étend vers l'avant selon une inclinaison montante entre le châssis 2 et le jambage 40.
Tel que cela ressort de la figure 1, le système de quadrilatère déformable 23 est défini par les points d'articulation 27, 28, 29 et 30. Le système d'articulation en quadrilatère déformable 32 est défini par les points d'articulation 29, 31, 33 et 35. Le système d'articulation à base de quadrilatère déformable 42 est défini par les points d'articulation 28, 44, 45 et 47.
Selon l'invention, il est prévu de doter le dispositif-élévateur décrit ci-dessus d'un organe moteur 50 permettant de faire passer la structure articulée de la position selon la figure 1 à la position selon la figure 4 et inversement. Un tel organe moteur 50 peut être constitué par un mécanisme à commande manuelle ou, de préférence, par un transformateur d'énergie, du type vérin électrique, susceptible d'être alimenté à partir de la source 12, notamment par l'intermédiaire d'un manipulateur 51 accessible, par exemple sur l'un des accoudoirs 52 amovibles ou orientables, équipant le dossier 21 ou l'assise 20. L'organe moteur 50 est interposé entre le châssis 2 et l'un des éléments mobiles de l'un des quadrilatères déformables et, de préférence, celui 23 propre à l'assise 20. Dans un exemple approprié illustré par la figure 1, l'organe moteur 50 est constitué par un vérin électrique dont la base est adaptée sur le châssis 2 et dont la tige est, par exemple, articulée par un axe 53 sur une traverse liant les parties 25 des deux ensembles latéraux 24.
Dans le cas d'adaptation d'un organe moteur 50 à commande manuelle, il peut être prévu d'associer des compensateurs élastiques, tels que des vérins à gaz, permettant de soulager la charge, notamment, lors du dépliement de la structure articulée pour passer de l'état selon la figure 1 à l'état verticalisé selon la figure 4.
Bien que cela ne soit pas représenté, le châssis 2 peut être organisé pour faire apparaítre une ou plusieurs butées 60 réservant un appui pour la structure articulée en position ou en état replié, en coopérant par exemple directement ou indirectement avec l'assise 20 et/ou l'un des quadrilatères déformables appropriés.
Dans l'état selon la figure 1, la structure articulée est en position repliée dans une position telle que l'assise 20 est sensiblement horizontale et que le repose-pieds 22 se trouve disposé juste en avant de la partie antérieure du châssis et du plan transversal des pivots d'articulation des roues directrices 8.
Lorsqu'il est souhaité commander le changement d'état de la structure articulée pour la faire passer dans un état de verticalisation, l'organe moteur 50 est commandé, par exemple pour assurer sa course d'extension, de manière qu'il tende à soulever les éléments articulés 25 constitutifs du quadrilatère déformable 23 propre à l'assise 20. Les éléments articulés 25 sont ainsi astreints à pivoter dans le sens de la flèche f1 (fig.3) sur les axes 27 et entraínent le déplacement de l'axe 29 selon une trajectoire circulaire T1 ayant pour centre l'axe 29 et pour rayon la longueur des éléments 25.
Le déplacement de l'axe 29 entraíne dans le même sens l'assise 20 dont l'axe d'articulation 30 est déplacé selon une trajectoire circulaire T2 ayant pour centre l'axe 28 et pour rayon la longueur de la partie avant 26. Les caractéristiques constructives du quadrilatère déformable 23 font que les courbes T1 et T2 se croisent en un point O1 , comme illustré par la figure 3, de sorte que l'assise déplacée vers l'arrière est simultanément soumise à un pivotement relatif dans le sens de la flèche f2 .
Simultanément, le pivotement de l'assise 20 entraíne le déplacement vers le haut de l'axe 31 qui soumet le dossier 21 à un déplacement relatif par rapport à l'assise, quoique restant par lui-même sensiblement dans la même inclinaison. Une telle caractéristique est fournie par la structure du quadrilatère déformable 32.
Le déplacement selon la courbe T2 du point 30 provoque le déplacement selon la courbe T3 du point d'articulation 47 du quadrilatère déformable 42, cette trajectoire T3 ayant pour centre le point d'articulation 28 et pour rayon la partie de biellette 26 comprise entre ce point et l'axe 47. Par l'intermédiaire des jambages 40, les points d'articulation 45 sont déplacés selon une trajectoire circulaire T4 , ayant pour centre l'axe 44 et pour rayon la longueur des éléments antérieurs 42.
Cette caractéristique fait que, dans la phase intermédiaire et concomitamment au déplacement dans le sens de la flèche f2 de l'assise 20, le repose-pieds 22 est élevé et rétro-déplacé, comme cela apparaít à la figure 3. La mesure d'élévation est conférée par les caractéristiques constructives du quadrilatère déformable 42, de telle manière que, lorsque les semelles 41 surplombent l'enveloppe horizontale de pivotement des roues avant 8, avec leur inclinaison initiale, elles soient situées à une hauteur du sol S supérieure au diamètre de ces dernières. De cette manière, le rétrodéplacement du repose-pieds 22 peut s'effectuer librement quelle que soit l'orientation des roues directrices avant 8.
Les caractéristiques des quadrilatères déformables sont choisies par construction de manière que, après le déplacement de l'organe moteur 50 sur sa course active, l'assise 20 et le dossier 21 soient sensiblement placés en alignement selon une faible inclinaison, alors que le repose-pieds 22 se trouve par rétrodéplacement inclus à l'intérieur du polygone d'appui défini par les roues 7 et 8. Dans cet état dit de verticalisation, tel que cela ressort de la figure 4, il apparait que la structure articulée est répartie dans son ensemble de part et d'autre de l'axe vertical x-x', de manière que la charge ou masse qu'elle représente seule et celle que constitue le sujet verticalisé soient à l'aplomb dudit axe vertical x-x' et sensiblement au centre du polygone d'appui pour conférer au fauteuil amené dans une telle configuration, un état stable autorisant un déplacement par l'intermédiaire des roues.
La caractéristique constructive des moyens de support et d'articulation à base de trois quadrilatères déformables présente la caractéristique de provoquer le déplacement relatif du dossier, de l'assise et du repose-pieds, selon les trajectoires T1 , T2 , T3 et T4 qui sont dirigées vers la partie postérieure du fauteuil et génèrent ainsi un rétro-déplacement de la structure articulée pour amener cette dernière de la position assise à tendance antérieure à une position verticalisée sensiblement centrée sur l'axe x-x'.
Par ailleurs, comme cela apparait par la comparaison des figures 1, 3 et 4, les moyens selon l'invention permettent de réduire notablement l'encombrement dans le plan antéro-postérieur du fauteuil en position verticalisée et de lui conférer dans cet état une compacité favorisant les évolutions.
Un fonctionnement inverse à ce qui vient d'être décrit s'établit lorsque l'organe 50 est commandé pour ramener la structure articulée de la position verticalisée à la position assise illustrée par la figure 1.
La figure 5 montre une variante de réalisation dans laquelle les quadrilatères déformables sont organisés non plus en ensembles latéraux tels que 24, mais sous une forme de colonne en étant regroupés de part et d'autre du plan antéro-postérieur de symétrie vertical P-P'.
APPLICATION INDUSTRIELLE
L'invention trouve une application industrielle particulièrement intéressante dans les fauteuils verticalisateurs qui, de surcroít, offrent une possibilité de pliage selon un plan de symétrie vertical, longitudinal, de manière à en réduire l'encombrement dans les phases de transport, notamment en automobile.
L'invention n'est pas limitée aux exemples décrits et représentés car diverses modifications peuvent y être apportées sans sortir de son cadre, tel que défini par les revendications.

Claims (9)

  1. Dispositif-élévateur pour fauteuil roulant verticalisateur, du type comportant un châssis (2) muni de roues (7, 8) définissant un polygone d'appui et supportant une structure articulée comprenant une assise (20), un repose-pieds (22) et un dossier (21), dispositif comprenant des moyens de support et d'articulation de la structure sur le châssis et des moyens de commande en élévation-abaissement de ladite structure par rapport au châssis,
    caractérisé en ce que
    l'assise et le repose-pieds ne présentent aucune articulation directe l'un avec l'autre, et sont montés sur les extrémités supérieures de deux quadrilatères déformables (23, 42), s'élevant à partir du châssis et possédant une partie mobile commune (26),
    les moyens (50) de commande en élévation-abaissement comprennent un organe moteur interposé entre le châssis et l'un des organes mobiles de l'un des quadrilatères et apte à commander le déplacement desdits quadrilatères entre un état stable replié correspondant à une position dite assise de la structure et un état stable déplié correspondant à une position dite de verticalisation de la structure dans laquelle la masse que représente cette dernière est sensiblement centrée par rapport au polygone d'appui.
  2. Dispositif-élévateur selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la structure comprend un repose-pieds (22), une assise (20) et un dossier (21) articulé par sa base sur la partie postérieure de l'assise et lié par un quadrilatère déformable (32) à celui de l'assise avec lequel il comporte une partie mobile commune (25).
  3. Dispositif-élévateur selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la structure articulée est montée sur le châssis par des quadrilatères déformables qui sont organisés en deux ensembles latéraux (24).
  4. Dispositif-élévateur selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la structure articulée est montée sur le châssis par des quadrilatères déformables qui sont organisés sous la forme d'une colonne.
  5. Dispositif-élévateur selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce que la structure comprend une assise (20) qui est montée articulée par sa partie antérieure et sensiblement par sa partie médiane sur les extrémités supérieures des parties mobiles (25, 26) constitutives des quadrilatères et respectivement dites avant et arrière et liées à la partie inférieure (3) et à la partie arrière (14) du châssis.
  6. Dispositif-élévateur selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que la structure comprend un repose-pieds (22) qui est monté articulé d'une part, au niveau d'une partie arrière, sur la partie mobile dite "avant" (26) du quadrilatère déformable (23) et, d'autre part, en avant de cette partie arrière, sur une partie mobile antérieure (43) constitutive du quadrilatère déformable (42) elle même articulée sur la partie inférieure du chassis
  7. Dispositif-élévateur selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisé en ce que l'organe moteur (50) est constitué par un transformateur d'énergie interposé entre le châssis (2) et le quadrilatère (23) propre à l'assise.
  8. Dispositif-élévateur selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisé en ce que l'organe moteur (50) est constitué par un moyen à commande manuelle associé à au moins un compensateur élastique.
  9. Fauteuil roulant verticalisateur comportant une structure articulée liée au châssis par un dispositif-élévateur selon l'une des revendications 1 à 8.
