Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel pump for a Motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a fuel pump is known from US Pat. No. 1,780,217 of the type mentioned here. she has a multiple pump consisting of two pump units consists. The first pump unit is for Oil production and the second production unit provided by fuel. The second pump unit a bearing is assigned that self-lubricated is. Such self-lubricated bearings are expensive and must be sealed to the outside.
- U.S. Patent 4,497,618 there is a multiple pump shown that a power steering and a vacuum pump includes.
- the vacuum pump is a vane pump trained, being between the wings the vacuum pump and the inner surface of the cam ring lubrication with the pumping medium of the power steering pump is provided.
- the disadvantage here is that the delivery medium of the power steering pump, in particular Hydraulic oil, used in a fuel pump Vacuum pump enters the fuel circuit.
- this known multiple pump Fuel pump cannot be used.
- a fuel pump which shows the features of claim 1.
- a fuel pump is provided, at least comprises two pump units, so that a multiple pump is formed.
- the Fuel pump characterized in that a rotor of the first Pump unit of the multiple pump by one exposed shaft journal is kept drivable. This can save a camp, which the Size of the entire pump unit can be reduced can.
- a shaft bearing the first pump unit from the pumped medium a second pump unit of the multiple pump lubricated is. This allows expensive self-lubricated and save sealed bearings so that the fuel pump according to the invention is particularly cheap can be produced.
- the fuel pump according to the invention also has the advantage that only a drive for the multiple pump must be provided.
- the Pump units within the multiple pump can basically in any way and for transmission any performance.
- the second pump unit for Transmission of greater power and the other one also referred to as the first fuel pump unit Unit to transmit less power is designed.
- a pump unit of the multiple pump as a conveyor unit for a power steering system with accordingly to train large conveying capacities.
- the Drive shaft in the area of the fuel pump can corresponding to the required drive power be weaker than in the area of the first Pump unit.
- more than two pump units within the multiple pump to provide; for example, it would be beneficial a fuel pump unit with a power steering pump unit as well as with a pump unit for one Combine anti-lock braking system.
- the fuel pump unit has a double stroke Pump includes.
- the occurrence of transverse forces on the shaft prevent. Therefore, for example, it is also possible the storage of the drive shaft within the fuel pump unit train inexpensively.
- the pump units of the multiple pump can by mutually coupled drive shaft sections connected and driven. Especially at a fuel pump unit in which the Cancel each other out, it has turned out to be proven to be advantageous for driving the fuel pump unit and the second pump unit a clutchless common shaft is provided.
- This clutchless drive is inexpensive to manufacture.
- Vane or roller cell pumps are particularly preferred for the fuel pump unit used because the sealing elements of these pumps, namely the wings or rollers, wear compensate automatically in the direction of the cam ring.
- Another advantage of the wing respectively Roller cell pump can be seen in that an "empty" line from the suction side forth can be filled again without separate Check valves as provided for other pump types Need to become.
- cam ring with a hard metal coating, for example, chromium nitride or titanium nitride.
- the Fuel pump also serves as a pressure plate for the others Pump unit of the multiple pump is used.
- the single figure shows a sectional view of a Fuel pump according to the invention as part of a Multiple pump unit, two around the drive shaft longitudinal axis cutting planes tilted towards each other are shown.
- the figure shows a whole with the reference symbol 2 designated multiple pump.
- the multiple pump 2 comprises one serving as a fuel pump Pump unit 4 and designed as a power steering pump further pump unit 6.
- the fuel pump unit 4 and the power steering pump unit 6 are driven by a common drive shaft 8.
- the drive shaft 8 comprises one of the power steering pump unit 6 assigned shaft section 10 and one assigned to the fuel pump unit 4 Shaft section 12 with a smaller one Wave cross section than the wave section 10.
- Die Drive shaft 8 is inside by means of a bearing 14 the power steering pump unit 6 and by means of a Bearing 16 within the fuel pump unit 4 rotatably mounted.
- the power steering pump unit 6 is a vane pump formed and includes one on the shaft portion 10 driveably held rotor 18 and a cam ring 20.
- the vane cells of the rotor 18 are via a channel 22 with the discharge pressure pressurized annulus 24 connected, whereby a supporting the extension and retraction of the wing Lower wing pump is formed.
- the suction side the vane pump is from an annulus 26 formed, which in turn from the fuel pump unit 4 is limited, the pressure plate 28 of the rotor 18 is used.
- the funding page 30 the vane pump is not shown on wise with the power steering system of the motor vehicle connected.
- the delivery side 30 with a designated overall by the reference numeral 32 Control valve connected to a control piston 34.
- the shaft section 12 of the drive shaft 8 comprises an end region in the form of a free-floating shaft journal 40, on which a rotor 42 also designed as a vane pump fuel pump unit 4 is drivably mounted.
- the fuel pump unit 4 further includes a cam ring 44 and two pressure plates 45 and 46 for the cam ring 44 and the rotor 42.
- the delivery side 48 of the vane pump is by means of a pressure line 50 with a Injection system of the motor vehicle connected. Pressures of around 6 bar are available here; it is therefore an essential from the drive shaft 8 lower power on the vane pump Fuel pump unit 4 transmitted as this the power steering pump unit 6 is the case.
