Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cistern for a toilet element with a drain opening arranged on the bottom, a movable sealing element for sealing the drain opening, an actuating element coupled to the sealing element, by means of which the sealing element can be moved from a closed position into an open position, with a stop surface for limiting the Movement of the actuating or sealing element in the open position and / or with a stop surface to limit the movement of the actuating or sealing element in the closed position.
  • Such cisterns known from FR-A-2 699 203 are connected as flush-mounted or surface-mounted elements to a building structure, for example to walls, tiles or planking, or are directly or indirectly connected to the building structure by special assemblies.
  • the movement of the actuating or sealing element into the opening or closing position defined by the respective stop surface causes stop or kickback noises which occur in the structure, in particular in the residential unit in which the respective sanitary facility is installed, and also have a disruptive effect in neighboring residential units. These noises are generally much louder than the currently applicable standards and regulations allow.
  • An object of the invention is to design a cistern for a toilet element in such a way that the noise pollution associated with the actuation can be reduced to a minimum.
  • the invention thus makes use of the knowledge that a substantial part of the noise generated when triggering and / or ending a rinsing process can be attributed to surfaces hitting each other hard in the open or closed position.
  • the abutting surfaces are formed on the one hand by the stop surface and on the other hand by a corresponding counter surface coupled to the movable actuating element.
  • an elastic insert is provided between the surfaces which hit each other hard according to the prior art, by means of which the generation of a noise when triggering or upon termination of the washing process and a subsequent transmission of structure-borne noise of this noise into the building structure is prevented or at least damped.
  • An additional reduction in structure-borne noise transmission into the structure can be achieved, for example, by connecting the cistern itself to the structure using an elastic material, so that there is no direct connection suitable for structure-borne noise transmission between the cistern and the structure.
  • a corresponding cistern suspension and other measures that can be combined with the present invention to reduce noise pollution are described in German patent application P 44 26 250.7.
  • Figures 1 and 2 show a fixed to the bottom of the cistern, not shown bell 1, which opens downwards and in its lower region has a neck 2, which is connectable to the drain opening located in the cistern floor and thus allows water from the interior of the bell 1 flows out through the drain opening of the cistern.
  • the bell 1 In its upper region, the bell 1 is provided with a passage opening 3 in which a round rod-shaped actuating element 4 is guided in the vertical direction.
  • the bell 1 has in the drawing, not shown, lateral passage openings for the water in the cistern, through which the water in the cistern can penetrate into the interior of the bell 1.
  • the actuating element 4 is in its lower region with a receiving element 5 forming a horizontal annular groove Mistake.
  • a sealing ring 6 is inserted into the annular groove formed by the receiving element 5, the inside diameter of which corresponds to the outside diameter of the actuating element 4 and which projects laterally beyond the receiving element 5.
  • the outer diameter of the sealing ring 6 is larger than the circular drain opening of the bell 1 defined by the connecting piece 2, so that this opening limited by the connecting piece 2 can be closed by means of the sealing ring 6, provided that the sealing ring 6, as shown in FIG The closed position rests on an upper sealing edge 7 of the connecting piece 2.
  • the bell 1 is provided with an inwardly projecting annular stop surface 8.
  • the horizontally extending stop surface 8 is arranged approximately at the level of a third of the total height of the bell 1. It can be provided with through openings, not shown in the drawing, which promote a flow of water from the upper to the lower region of the bell and vice versa.
  • a floating body 9 is fixedly connected to the actuating element 4, which limits an annular, downwardly open cavity.
  • the distance between the underside of the floating body 9 and the receiving element 5 corresponds approximately to the distance between the stop surface 8 and the connecting piece 2.
  • the function of the float 9 is to ensure after the upward movement of the actuating element 4 when triggering a flushing process that the drain opening is not closed again immediately after the actuating element 4 is released by the sealing ring 6.
  • An annular elastic insert 10 is provided directly above the receiving element 5 for the sealing ring 6 and comes to rest between the stop surface 8 and the receiving element 5 in the open position shown in FIG. 2.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 The embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is primarily suitable for damping the noises that occur when the rinsing process is triggered. If elastic inserts were provided between surfaces adjacent in the closed position, however, sound absorption would also be achievable when the rinsing process is ended, according to the principle according to the invention.
  • the elastic insert 10 is designed to be soft and consists of a material which is resistant to aging and, in particular, is not damaged by the fact that it is almost constantly under water during use.
  • the elastic insert 10 Since the elastic insert 10 is clamped in the open position between the receiving element 5 for the sealing ring 6 and the stop surface 8, the elastic insert 10 should be suitable for absorbing compressive forces and, in particular, should be designed so that after the termination of the Exposure to compressive forces at least essentially returns to their original shape.
  • the elastic insert can preferably be designed as a profile element which can be fastened to corresponding projections or recesses.
  • the stop surface 8 could, for example, be designed according to the drawing so that it projects less far into the interior of the bell 1, so that the receptacle 5 for the sealing ring 6 can be moved past the stop surface 8 in the vertical direction when the sealing ring 6 is not inserted. In this way, it would be achieved that the inserted sealing ring 6 abuts the stop surface 8 when the actuating element 4 moves upward and thus limits the upward movement of the actuating element 4.
  • sealing ring 6 in such an arrangement consists of elastic material, the inventive advantageous effect of sound absorption when triggering a flushing process also results, although the provision of a separate insert 10 can be dispensed with, which ultimately leads to a more cost-effective construction of the flushing set.
  • the sealing element consists of at least two layers, the layer facing the drain opening forming a comparatively hard sealing layer and the layer facing the stop surface consisting of elastic material.
  • the sealing element consists of at least two layers, the layer facing the drain opening forming a comparatively hard sealing layer and the layer facing the stop surface consisting of elastic material.
  • Natural rubber, synthetic rubber, plastic foam, fleece, cork, coconut and / or a metal spring can be used as the material for the elastic insert. If metal springs are used, spiral or leaf springs designed to absorb compressive forces are particularly suitable.
  • the elastic insert is not formed by the sealing ring 6 itself, it can be attached, for example, to the stop surface 8, to the actuating element 4 or to a component 5 coupled to it, for example, but also to the float 9. It is only essential that the elastic insert is arranged in such a way that the upward movement of the actuating element 4 is ultimately braked exclusively by the elastic insert 10 interacting with a corresponding stop surface.
  • the elastic insert can be attached, for example, by an adhesive, tensioning and / or clamping connection.
  • the elastic insert it is also possible, as an alternative or in addition, to insert the elastic insert merely into a guide or - as shown in the drawing - to push it as a ring element over an actuating element 4 which is round in cross section.
  • stop surface which are suitable for limiting the upward movement of the actuating element 4.
  • additional stop surfaces of this type which are identified in the drawing by reference number 11 are provided in the area of the float 9.
  • the device shown in the drawing is dimensioned such that the stop surfaces 11 do not touch each other in the open position, which is why in this case no corresponding elastic insert must be provided.
  • an elastic insert for sound absorption can be provided according to the invention between a further stop surface, in particular the bottom of the cistern and the actuating element or a component coupled to it will.
  • This elastic insert is preferably also already formed by the sealing ring 6, which comes into contact with the sealing edge 7 in the closed position.
  • stop surfaces can be provided, which come into contact with one another when the actuating element 4 is moved into the closed position.
  • Such stop surfaces could be formed by the underside of the float 9 and the top of the stop 8.
  • elastic inserts according to the invention are provided between the surfaces that come into contact with one another.
  • the device is dimensioned such that these surfaces do not come into contact with one another in the closed position, which is why no elastic insert is provided here.
