- the drum intended for the emptying of this deck 1 is constituted by two horizontal shafts 2 and 3 supported by a fixed frame (not shown) so as to be arranged one below the 'other along the vertical axis of said deck 1.
- On the lower shaft 2 is fixed one end of two cables 4 which, after a few turns wound on said shaft 2, rise vertically to pass over the 'upper shaft 3, descend to be returned by the shaft 2, and climb again to pass over the shaft 3 which returns them towards the upper edge of the deck 1, the free end of each cable 4 being finally stowed to the upper blade 10 of said apron.
- the lower shaft 2 is associated with a rotary operating mechanism which, in the case envisaged, is formed by an electric gear motor 5. It is understood that when that is put into operation in the proper direction of rotation, the winding cables 4 on the lower shaft 2 causes the corresponding decking 1 to be fed together, the blades 10 of the latter being forced to follow the path of said cables and to wind successively on the two shafts 2 and 3, which thus constitute the apron winding drum.
- the connection between the two shafts 2 and 3 is effected by means of the two cables 4 which, by sliding, allow the upper shaft 3 to rotate at a speed slightly different from that of the shaft 2, while being driven by friction to somehow accompany the apron 1.
- this "sliding" angular connection mode formed between the two shafts 2 and 3 is capable of being replaced by any other suitable system, in particular by a torque limiting mechanism.
- the present invention provides for the device to include separation means capable of avoiding mutual contact between the layers or turns of the blades wound on the shafts.
- each of the shafts 2 and 3 have two stepped pulleys 6 which are mounted idly on the envisaged shaft, while being retained axially in place in the vicinity from one end thereof; as more particularly shown in FIG. 3, each pulley 6 is in fact formed by three independent flanges 6 a , 6 b and 6 c whose diameters are increasing. Furthermore, there were fixed at the ends of the blades 10 of the deck 1 three types of end pieces 60, 61 and 62 which differ from each other by their length; as shown in FIG. 1, over a height d1 of the deck 1, the blades 10 are equipped with short end pieces 60, over a height d2 of middle end pieces 61 and over a height d3 of long end pieces 62.
- Figures 4, 5 and 6 clearly show that whatever the length of their projecting part, the various end pieces 60, 61 and 62 are suitably guided by a spacer or perforated partition 70 provided in the two lateral slides 7 of the blind device.
- FIGS. 8, 9 and 10 illustrate the lateral guidance of the vertical edges of the deck 1 using slides 9 with a stepped inner profile, suitable for providing three different raceways for the end rollers 80, 81 and 82.
- the separation means instead of attaching tips 60, 61 and 62 to the ends of the blades 10, these are the blades which are directly established in series at different lengths so as to cooperate with the flanges of the stepped pulleys 6, as was schematically indicated in FIG. 11. In such a case it is of course essential that the blades 10 are stapled to each other to avoid any unwanted longitudinal movement and that the slides or slides 9 have a sufficient depth to guide the shortest blades 10.
