Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ratchet type ring spanner, and more particularly to an improved ring spanner that is particularly useful for mechanics.
  • FIG. 6 of the drawings illustrates a ratchet wrench which includes a handle 40 and a switch button 41 mounted in a head portion 42 thereof, which is used for this purpose , during work to change a reversible direction of a ratchet mounted in the head portion 42.
  • a disadvantage of the ratchet wrench is that a user must hold the ratchet wrench with one hand and toggle the switch knob 41 when changing the reversible direction.
  • Another disadvantage of the socket ratchet wrench is that it has a relatively large end to accommodate complex elements therein and therefore cannot be used in a limited space because additional socket wrench inserts have to be used.
  • a professional mechanic would use a combination wrench (see Figure 7 of the drawings), combination wrench, or combination wrench to tighten or loosen nuts in a limited space.
  • a common disadvantage of these wrenches is that the wrench must be removed from the nut and rotated back into engagement with the nut after it has rotated a small angle to rotate a further small angle. This process continues until the nut is tightened or loosened, which is very inconvenient, especially in a limited space.
  • a reversible ring spanner comprising a ratchet gear, which is mounted in an inner boundary surface of the head part thereof, and a cavity defined in a web area for receiving a spring and a pawl.
  • the pawl is preloaded by the spring to latch into and out of the ratchet gear to ensure the desired reversing function.
  • the cavity must be inclined to ensure proper engagement between the ratchet and the pawl, which further increases the difficulty of providing the cavity because the allowable error is extremely small.
  • the problem can be solved by increasing the thickness of the wrench head, however, the enlarged head like that of the ratchet wrench would not allow the wrench to be handled in a limited space.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a ratchet-type box wrench that works reliably even when foreign objects get into it.
  • a ratchet-type ring spanner in accordance with the present invention includes a handle and a head portion which includes a circular boundary wall having a receiving space therein delimits and includes a web area that connects to the handle, a cavity being defined in the web area.
  • a ratchet gear is received in the receiving space and includes a plurality of teeth in an outer boundary surface and a polygonal inner boundary surface for engagement with sides of a nut to be tightened or loosened.
  • An arcuate toothed member is inserted into the cavity and includes a plurality of teeth defined on a first side thereof and intended to engage the teeth of the ratchet gear and a second side supported against a wall which supports the Delimits cavity.
  • a stop element is inserted into the cavity and comprises a first end which is supported against the wall delimiting the cavity.
  • a spring is mounted between the stop member and the toothed member to bias the toothed member away from the stop member.
  • the first end of the stop element comprises two projections for support against the wall delimiting the cavity.
  • the serrated member includes a stub-like boss formed thereon and the stop member includes a stem that projects therefrom while the spring has a first end attached to the stub-like boss of the serrated member and a second end. which is attached to the stem of the stop element.
  • the stop element also comprises a pair of wings, each of which protrudes outwards from central sections of two longitudinal edges thereof, in a plane which is substantially perpendicular to one Longitudinal direction of the same is.
  • the wings act as a guide rail for the toothed member to disengage the toothed member from the ratchet in the event that foreign matter enters the cavity, thereby allowing the toothed member to return to its initial position for the subsequent operation without being disturbed by the foreign matter to become.
  • the wall delimiting the cavity contains a depression defined in a central part thereof, while the stop element also comprises an anchor which is formed thereon and is received in the depression.
  • a ratchet-type ring spanner according to the present invention is designated by the reference number "1" and generally comprises a handle 11 and a head part 10.
  • the head part 10 comprises a circular boundary wall 10a, which delimits therein a receiving space 12 for receiving a ratchet gear 20.
  • the boundary wall 10a includes a web area 10b, which adjoins the handle 11.
  • a cavity 13 is defined in the web area 10b, and a depression 131 is defined in a central part of a wall delimiting the cavity 13 (see FIG. 3).
  • the ratchet gear 20 includes a plurality of teeth 21 in an outer peripheral surface and a polygonal inner peripheral surface for engagement with a nut or the like.
  • An arcuate toothed member 14 is inserted into cavity 13 and includes a stub-like boss 141 formed on one end thereof and a plurality of teeth 142 defined on a first side thereof and for engagement with the teeth 21 of the ratchet gear 20 are provided.
  • a stop element which is formed by an elastic plate 15, the two projections 151 and 152, which are formed on a first end thereof, and a substantially U-shaped armature 155, which is on a second End thereof is formed and is received in the recess 131.
  • the elastic plate 15 also includes a stem 156 projecting outwardly from a central portion of one side thereof and a pair of wings 153 and 154 each projecting outward from central portions of two longitudinal edges thereof in a plane that is substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the same.
  • the stop element 15 When assembling, the stop element 15 is inserted into one side of the cavity 13, the projections 151 and 152 of the first end of the stop element 15 being firmly supported against the wall delimiting the cavity 13 and the anchor 155 being received in the recess 131.
  • the arcuate toothed element 14 is then inserted into the other side of the cavity 13, a second side of which is supported against the wall delimiting the cavity 13 and the stub-shaped extension 141 thereof is opposite the stem 156 of the stop element 15.
  • a spring 16 is mounted between the stop member 15 and the arcuate toothed member 14 by attaching a first end thereof to the stub lug 141 and a second end thereof to the stem 156, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • the ratchet gear 20 is then inserted into the receiving space 12 of the head part 10, the teeth 21 of which engage with the teeth 142 on the first side of the toothed element 14.
  • the user can move the ring spanner directly in an opposite direction, for example counterclockwise, since it offers a reversing function. This is because the spring force provided by the spring 16 pushes the toothed element 14 back to its initial position shown in Fig. 3, while the structures of the teeth 142 of the toothed element and the teeth 21 of the ratchet gear 20 make such rotation allow opposite direction.
  • the toothed element 14 since it is hindered by the foreign object, may not immediately return to its initial position when the above-mentioned backward movement is required. This is the case because the toothed element 14 cannot come loose from the ratchet gear 20. Under these conditions, the toothed element 14 is entrained by the ratchet gear 20 so that it moves further to the right (viewed from the direction of FIG. 4) and thus meets the wings 153 and 154 of the stop element 15, which consequently results in one Force leads to the stop element 15.
  • the force results in a normal force and a longitudinal force which cause the toothed element 14 to slide a certain distance along the side edges 1531 and 1541 of the wings 153 and 154 (see the arrow in FIG. 5) and thus away from the ratchet gear 20 triggers as shown in Fig. 5.
  • the wings 153 and 143 serve as a guide rail for guiding downward movements of the toothed element 14, whereby the toothed element 14 is thereby released from the ratchet gear 20.
  • the spring force provided by the spring 16 is now able to push the toothed element 14 back into its initial position shown in FIG. 3.
  • the ratchet-type ring spanner can function as usual even when foreign objects enter.
  • the foreign bodies can be removed at regular intervals or immediately after the repair work has been completed.
  • a ratchet-type ring spanner comprises a handle and a head part, which in turn comprises a circular boundary wall which delimits a receiving space therein and includes a web area which adjoins the handle, a cavity being defined in the web area.
  • a ratchet gear is received in the receiving space and includes a plurality of teeth in an outer boundary surface and a polygonal inner boundary surface.
  • An arcuate toothed member is inserted into the cavity and includes a plurality of teeth defining on a first side thereof are and are intended for engagement with the teeth of the ratchet gear, and a second side which is supported against a wall which delimits the cavity.
  • a stop element is inserted into the cavity and comprises a first end which is supported against the wall delimiting the cavity.
  • a spring is mounted between the stop member and the toothed member to bias the toothed member away from the stop member.
