- the apparatus starts to deviate from its vertical trajectory, its orientation is corrected by acting on certain pads 11 so as to orient the chassis in a direction opposite to the deviation.
- the anchoring part 1b is also provided with two anchoring pads 12 on its two large faces. These anchoring pads move away from the chassis to come to bear on the walls of the trench once the correct positioning of the device has been achieved thanks to the positioning pads 11.
- the pads 12 are preferably controlled by hydraulic jacks.
