Definitions

  • the invention relates to an automatic snowboard binding and a shoe for the latter.
  • Snowboarding also known as snowboarding, is an elongated board more or less flexible designed to slide on the snow.
  • Snowboards are expensive relative to the time they are used. Moreover, during the period when they are not used they are bulky. For these reasons many casual sportsmen prefer to rent snowboards rather than buy them.
  • Current bindings require adjustment according to shoe types and sizes.
  • the auto-surfing bindings currently on the market offer little footwear position, which is particularly inconvenient with shoes rigid shell, so-called alpine.
  • a binding comprising a base having side hooks, one of which is locked by a lever, in which are snapped two stirrups integral with the shoe.
  • One of the stirrups is locked by a closure means which allows the passage during the boot and prevents the return of the stirrup by its interposition during a vertical bias. If this attachment is satisfactory in terms of automatic boot, it is not for comfort since the boot can be made only by a very directional arrival. For the shoes with shell this type of fixation does not allow the use of a rigid shoe, because the leg of the user having the maintained joints does not offer the required flexibility to allow the snap-fastening.
  • Another type of fastener comprising a lower plate fixed on the surf and the female footprint integral with the boot comprising the closure means, offers the characteristics of automatically surfing surf binding but has the disadvantage of obscuring the part to be snapped. since the latter is located under the user's shoe.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a fastener that does not have the defects of the existing fasteners and a boot for the latter. These objects are achieved with the snowboard binding defined in claim 1.
  • a fastener according to the invention represents a compact assembly having a pleasant shape to look at.
  • the binding comprises a base plate 1, also called base, intended to be fixed on the upper surface of a snowboard. Fixing the base 1 is done by means of screws passing through the holes 2, or by means of a circular plate (not shown), which have notches to allow 360 ° angle adjustment and holes for receiving fastening screws, not shown.
  • the circular plate (not shown) is independent of the base 1 and has a flange with flutes. There are identical grooves on the base 1 which allows to guide the fixing in the desired manner. This device is known and is on existing fixings that is why it was not represented.
  • the attachment is formed by a base 1 having two side plates 3 and 4, having a spacing substantially of the width of a shoe.
  • Each of said plates 3 and 4 has a vertical groove 6 respectively 7 at its center and a cam 8 respectively 9 movable on integral axes of said plates 3 and 4.
  • These cams are intended to hold at the bottom of the grooves 6 and 7 a transverse bar 10 attached under the sole of the shoe (see figure 8 and 9).
  • the transverse bar 10 snaps into the grooves 6 and 7 of the plates 3 and 4 of the base 1 and is retained by the cams 8 and 9.
  • Said cams are self-locking, that is to say they can make up any play left by the settlement of a layer of snow under the sole through the countersink 11.
  • the release of the shoe is effected by simply pressing a lateral lever 12, which by a transmission rod 13 held in a low position by a spring 14, opens the two cams 8 and 9 at the same time, which allows the removal of the bar 10, so the shoe 15 (Fig 5).
  • the bar 10 may be constituted by a straight bar or with bends.
  • FIG. 5 will better understand the operation of the binding. Indeed, it is not necessary to present the shoe 15 horizontally laterally or longitudinally for the latching is performed.
  • the cams 8 and 9 are independent despite their connection by the rod 13 by the presence of the slot 16.
  • the binding is usable regardless of the orientation of the shoe.
  • the binding according to the invention can be made of light metal, for example sheet metal or aluminum alloy or synthetic material of suitable strength. As can be seen in the figures, only the sole of the shoe has been shown because the upper and the upper may be of any shape and have no influence on the invention.
  • FIGS. 8 and 9 show that a sole 1 of a boot according to the invention comprises a front part 3 and a rear part called a heel 2. Between the two parts 2 and 3 is a recess 4, which in the described embodiment is circular with a diameter of 110 mm and depth of 14 mm. These shapes and dimensions are only given as examples.
  • the recess can be any shape, for example: square, rectangular, elliptical, oval etc. to allow the attachment of a bar 5 between the front portion 3 and the heel 2.
  • This bar disposed transversely relative to the length of the sole has a length slightly greater than the width of the sole, so as to create projecting catch elements, or substantially aligned with the outer forms of the upper of the shoe.
  • the bar 5 is intended to be caught in a device provided (shown in Figures 1 to 7) on the attachment designed to cooperate with said shoe.
  • the position of the bar 5 is substantially off-center, relative to the middle of the sole, the rear side, that is to say towards the heel 2. This positioning of the bar is intended to create a better position of the user in order to obtain a more direct transmission of the efforts.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 show that a sole 1 of a shoe according to the invention comprises a front part 3 and a rear part called a heel 2. Between the two parts 2 and 3 is a recess 4, which in the form described embodiment is circular with a diameter of 110 mm and depth of 14 mm. These shapes and dimensions are only given as examples.
  • the recess may be any shape, for example: square, rectangular, elliptical, oval to allow the attachment of a bar 5 between the front portion 3 and the heel (2).
  • This bar disposed transversely relative to the length of the sole has a length slightly greater than the width of the sole, so as to create projecting hooking elements, or substantially aligned with the outer forms of the upper of the shoe.
  • the bar 5 is intended to be caught in a device provided (not shown) on the attachment designed to cooperate with said shoe.
  • the position of the bar 5 is substantially off-center, relative to the middle of the sole, the rear side, that is to say towards the heel 2. This positioning of the bar is intended to create a better position for the user to to obtain a more direct transmission of efforts.
  • the bar 5 will be held against the sole by any known means. In the example described it is held by a plate 6 screwed by four screws 7.
  • the sole 1 of the shoe may also have a groove 9 to improve the maintenance of the bar 5.
  • the bar 5 will present at its two ends protruding from the sole 1 elbows this to gain height.
  • the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this surf binding auto-boot, which was described above by way of example, but embraces all variants of execution , in particular as regards the shape of the base of the support plates or the material used for the production.
