Abstract

In einer faserverarbeitenden Maschine mit einer Ausscheidekante, worin sowohl Faser wie auch Luft in einer im wesentlichen vorbestimmten Transportrichtung an der Kante vorbeigeführt werden und Schmutzpartikel selektiv mittels der Kante (616) aus dem Faser/Luft-Strom (FLS) herabgeführt wird, ist das Einstellen eines Ausscheideelementes (104,106,108) insbesondere das Einstellen der Winkelstellung einer Ausscheidefläche (620) und/oder der Eintauchtiefe stromaufwärts von der Ausscheidefläche mit einer Änderung der Arbeitsspaltbreite (622) stromaufwärts vom Ausscheidespalt (622) verknüpft. Es kann auch mindestens eine Massnahme getroffen werden, um einen Druckabfall und/oder Luftturbulenzen stromabwärts (in der Transportrichtung) von der Kante möglichst zu eliminieren.
