Definitions
- a lid barrel is previously known from the publication WO-A-9 608 416.
- the invention is based on the knowledge that in the case of such a non-rotationally symmetrical barrel cover, in which at least one bung hole is provided in the edge area with a bunghole opening optionally arranged therein (e.g. a 2 "fill / drain bung opening on one side or / and in the opposite edge area e.g. a 3/4 "ventilation bung), the adjacent areas around the bung or the transition areas from normal drum lid topsoil into the bung are most critical in the event of loads falling on the barrel, ie most prone to breakage Most likely to overuse material with cracking or leakage.
- drum lids in which the bung trough (s) are provided, but no bunghole connection is designed with a bunghole opening.
- the stretch lengths are leveled horizontally from the center of the lid to the top Front edge of the outer, downwardly open, U-shaped edge of the drum lid measured.
- the areas of the lower sheet pits show the comparatively shorter stretch lengths. This is particularly the case with drum lids with a second circumferential lid bead, which is interrupted by the sheet pile housing is the case.
- the barrel lids as well the lid barrel body can consist of plastic and / or metal (sheet steel).
- a lid barrel which is particularly suitable or approved for dangerous liquid contents in extreme load cases.
- the bottom of the groove circumferential engagement groove has a different depth in the circumferential direction
- the bottom of the groove in the area (s) in front of the sheet piling (s) has a greater depth than in the circumferential areas outside the sheet piling, whereby according to the invention in all areas of the drum lid everywhere exactly same elongation lengths or radial surface lengths of the cover are given. This measure enables a targeted compensation of unequal stretch lengths the lid areas with the sheet pits can be adjusted or carried out.
- the cover areas with the sheet pits do not become the same stretch lengths more loaded than the other lid areas or significantly less loaded than without this measure, and there is no longer a preferred pulling out of the Lid edge in the area of the sheet pits from the clamping ring or even to one Breaking or tearing open the barrel lid even in the otherwise critical lid areas around the bung.
- the barrel lid in the areas around or in front of Bung trough (s) measured in the radial direction larger elongation lengths or larger Surface lengths than in the areas outside the sheet pits (n). This allows the voltage peaks in the relatively stiff area around the Sheet piling (s) can be further reduced noticeably, and a concentration of Voltage peaks now occur in the comparatively uncritical lid areas outside of the sheet pits or offset by 90 °.
- the transition from normal, uniform depth of the circumferential groove base outside the areas in front of the bung trough (s) to the greater depth of the groove base directly in front of the or the sheet skip (s) over a flat transition bevel Connection piece takes place, which extends in the circumferential direction over a length of about 20 mm to 80 mm, preferably about 60 mm, extends.
- a smaller one Lid barrel with a capacity of about 120 l ( 36 US gal.)
- a Cover diameter of approx. 460 mm should also account for the difference in depth of the groove base greater depth to the groove base with normal depth between about 2 mm and 12 mm preferably about 6 mm. The stretch length is then un in this area doubled the depth difference.
- the barrel cover a second circumferential or partially circumferential one in the outer edge region of the flat cover plate Groove intended as an elasticity-increasing expansion fold.
- the radial extension lengths the barrel lid segment areas in front of or around the sheet piling (s) and the Barrel cover segments outside the sheet piling areas through a targeted selection the steepness or the pitch angle of the conical or curved ring pieces trained side walls of the groove or grooves are adjustable or predeterminable.
- a targeted adjustment of the stretch lengths is achieved in that the side walls the groove or the grooves are formed differently steep.
- the slope length can be increased or increased with greater steepness.
- the measures of deeper groove base and / or the greater steepness of the groove side walls realized only in the outer engagement groove with the larger diameter are.
- This can e.g. B. from the diameter of the drum lid, from the Material (e.g. PE / HDPE, PP, sheet steel or similar) of the barrel lid or de
- the transition from the deepest bottom of the groove directly in front of the bung to the highest groove base in the cover segment areas offset by 90 ° to the sheet skip can also according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention continuously and continuously.
- the reference numeral 10 denotes a lid barrel according to the invention, which shows a barrel body 12 with attached barrel lid 14 and clamping ring 16.
- the drum cover 14 has a central flat cover plate 18 and a U-shaped cover edge 20 which is open at the bottom and has an outer ring piece 22 and an inner ring piece 24.
- a circumferential seal 26 is inserted into the U-shaped lid rim 20, which seals the barrel lid 14 in a gas-tight and liquid-tight manner on the upper mouth edge of the barrel body opening when the clamping ring 16 is closed.
- the central cover plate 18 is connected via an obliquely conically downwardly extending ring piece 28 to the inner ring piece 24 of the U-shaped lid edge 20 such that there is a piece between the obliquely conical or also arched ring piece 28 and into the barrel body opening extending inner ring piece 24 of the U-shaped lid edge results in a circumferential engaging groove 30.
- the clamping ring 16 engages with its upper one Leg one at the lower edge of the outer ring piece 22 of the lid edge 20th arranged, radially outwardly projecting lid edge flange 46 and with its lower leg one with a certain distance of about 40 mm below the barrel opening arranged on the outer wall of the barrel body 12 jacket flange 48 and presses the drum lid 10 gas and liquid tight onto the drum opening.
- This way of fastening of the barrel lid with a lower clamping ring corresponds to the type of 1975 developed by Mauser drum lid for the worldwide widespread and known "Standard lid barrel".
- the flat cover plate 18 has a symmetrical flattening or bevel 40 on the side next to the sheet trough 34 for optimal residual emptying of the cover barrel in a slightly tilted overhead position.
- a bung plug is screwed into the 2 "bunghole connector and both are covered by a pressed-on sealing cap 42.
- a second smaller 3/4" bunghole opening is also recessed in a bunghole 44 and also by a sealing cap 42 'covered.
- the groove base of the engaging groove 30 is formed deeper in the area in front of the sheet pits 34, 44 than in the adjacent areas outside the sheet pits 34, 44 or outside the bevel 40.
- the lid segments a, b and b ' are symmetrical.
- the cover segments c and c'directly in front of the sheet pits 34, 44 have different circumferential lengths with a greater depth of the groove base corresponding to the width of the respective sheet pits 34 and 44.
- the cover segments a denote the area with a normal depth of the groove base and the segment areas b and b ′ denote the transition sections from normal depth to the greater depth of the groove bottom in front of the sheet pits.
- FIG. 4 the lid barrel is shown in front view.
- the critical points for the liquid-tight cohesion of the barrel body, barrel lid and clamping ring are identified here with A (Fig. 3), C and D (Fig. 4).
- the greatest axial bulge of the cover occurs in the area of point A.
- the flattening CAD leads to strong radially inward tensile stresses in the outside areas C and D.
- the barrel body or the barrel body edge, on which the cover is fixed by means of a clamping ring tries to expand radially outward; this also causes a strong tensile stress in the barrel body edge, which is directed radially outwards. Due to the strongest buckling of the cover, which is superimposed here, and the high tensile stresses acting in opposite main directions, the drum cover is usually detached or pulled out of the upper leg of the tensioning ring at such a point at such a point.
- the elasticity of a drum lid can be provided by the provision of a further circumferential one Expansion groove in the outer area of the central ceiling pane under enlargement radial elongation lengths are improved; from this increase in elongation lengths the sheet piling areas are left out and these areas thus represent by the shorter stretch lengths and by the material stiffening the problem areas with extreme bending loads due to the bung supports.
- the measures according to the invention can be used to set the Carry out expansion lengths in the drum lid.
- FIG. 7 shows an identical barrel cover 14 'with a circumferential engaging groove 30 and a circumferential expansion groove 52 with bung troughs 34, 44 arranged therein, however, with this cover design, the bung nozzles are not designed with bunghole openings.
- the measure of the deeper groove base in the engaging groove 30 in front of the sheet pits is also implemented here. If e.g., if a cover version without bunghole openings - as shown in FIG. 7 - is desired by the customer, such a cover can be manufactured in the same injection mold that is used for the cover according to FIG. 6.
- FIG. 8 shows a liquid-tight barrel cover 10 which, in a special embodiment, has a flat, about 16 mm wide groove base in the outer circumferential engaging groove 30.
- the inner side wall of the engagement groove 30 rises to the height of the central flat cover plate 18.
- the slope angle of this sloping side wall is approximately 55 °.
- the angle of inclination of the conical or obliquely curved ring pieces can vary or be predetermined between approx. 30 ° and 70 °.
- the second partially circumferential groove 52 is designed as a V-shaped expansion groove, the course of which is interrupted by the sheet pits 34 and 44 and which runs flush with the bottom of the groove into the plane of the bottom of these two sheet pits.
- the outer obliquely conical or curved side wall of the expansion groove 52 is designated by the reference number 62 and the inner side wall by 64.
- the side walls 62 and 64 each have a pitch angle of approximately 45 °, so that the opening angle for the expansion groove 52 is approximately 90 °. However, these pitch angles can also be changed or adapted to a desired stretch length.
- FIG. 9 shows a cross-sectional illustration of the drum cover from FIG. 8 in an area outside the sheet pits, e.g. B. in a cover area offset by 90 ° to the sheet pits.
- the V-shaped expansion groove 52 is arranged with an opening angle of approximately 90 °.
- the likewise V-shaped, downwardly open ring element 66 (back piece) rises.
- the cover area between the U-shaped cover edge 20 and the ring element or ring back 66 or the central cover plate 18 is thereby given an H-shaped cross-sectional configuration.
- This construction proves to be extremely resistant to deformation, particularly in the case of hydraulic internal pressure and drop tests. Permanent kink deformations, e.g. B.
- the axial extent of the ring pieces 68, 70 - measured from the underside of the groove base - is between 8 mm and 30 mm, preferably approximately 14 mm.
- the level of the bung bottom is usually the same height (flush) as the groove base of the circumferential engaging groove.
- FIG. 11 Another embodiment of a drum lid according to the invention is shown in plan view in Figure 11 .
- a deeper groove formation in the cover segment areas c, c 'in front of the sheet pits or / and a flatter or steeper inclination of the groove side walls in the segment areas a outside the sheet pits finally be provided that the barrel cover in the areas outside of the sheet piling, somewhat shorter expansion lengths or shorter Has surface lengths than in the areas in front of the sheet pits.
