Definitions

  • the invention relates to an aggregate for surfaces of traffic areas according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for manufacturing of this aggregate and a method for its installation in a traffic area.
  • the main active ingredients are salts such as NaCl for use.
  • Such an additive which is in the form of a filler, So a very fine-grained material in a mixing plant the mix for one bituminous top layer is added. To wash out too quickly of the active ingredient and unwanted moisture formation in high humidity prevent, the active ingredient is mixed with a water repellent.
  • method for the production of appropriate fine grain mixtures as ice-inhibiting fillers are for example from the patent documents EP 0 422 753 A1, DE 34 04 271 A1 and DE 41 29 621 A1 are known.
  • the surface layer of a road surface is usually several centimeters thick.
  • the course of the life of the cover layer becomes only a small part of its layer thickness abraded by wear, so that from the total in the top layer mixed in aggregate with ice formation inhibiting effect only one accordingly small part can develop its intended effect at all.
  • a Protective layer made of a granular mineral component and a binder described for the surfaces of traffic areas the mineral component contains an ice-inhibiting material that is at least partially in Form of a filler, so it is very finely divided. Otherwise, the mineral Component present as crushed sand and / or grit.
  • the proportion of the ice inhibiting Material on the mineral component should preferably be at least 30% by mass.
  • the object of the invention is a fine-grained aggregate with anti-icing Propose effect for the construction of traffic areas that can be produced cheaply and is easy to process, with a concentration of this aggregate should be possible as close as possible to the surface of the cover layer.
  • the amount the substance effective for inhibiting ice formation should be as high as possible.
  • a method for producing this additive and a method are also intended specified for its installation in traffic areas.
  • the invention provides for the aggregate to be in the form of a fine-grained material with a maximum grain size of less than 0.5 mm.
  • the aggregate preferably has at least 85% by weight of a grain size of less than 0.2 mm.
  • An essential component of the individual grains is an active ingredient which inhibits ice formation, preferably a salt such as NaCl, KCl or MgCl 2 , NaCI being particularly preferred because of the economically advantageous procurement options (for example as a residual salt from another production).
  • the active ingredient consists of primary grains with a maximum primary grain size of less than 0.2 mm, preferably less than 0.09 mm, the surface of which is treated with bitumen, so that in particular the smallest primary grains are agglomerated with one another to form larger secondary grains or glued to larger primary grains.
  • the aggregate according to the invention is already well protected against moisture absorption and an undesirably quick washout.
  • it may be expedient to hydrophobicize the active substance separately ie the primary grains are mixed with a hydrophobizing agent before the treatment with bitumen.
  • the proportion of bitumen in the finished aggregate is usually in the range from 1 to 10% by mass, preferably in the range from 3 to 5% by mass.
  • the aggregate can contain other components if required, such as limestone powder.
  • the aggregate according to the invention can be produced in a very simple manner respectively.
  • the finely divided active ingredient preferably ground hydrophobized NaCI, as well as any other desired components that have a primary grain size less than 0.2 mm, preferably less than 0.09 mm, are placed in a compulsory mixer (e.g. ploughshare mixer).
  • a compulsory mixer e.g. ploughshare mixer
  • bitumen addition can be done in one Step or in several subsets in succession. If the bitumen is added in the form of an emulsion, the mixing can be cold, ie at ambient temperature respectively.
  • bitumen is used as a binder the walls of the mixer are heated to prevent the mixture from sticking avoid, and the bitumen with a temperature in the range of about 180 - 250 ° C, preferably 220-230 ° C, added.
  • Mixing will last at least as long carried out until the bitumen is evenly distributed in the mixture, and finished before the agglomerates that form have a secondary grain size of 0.5 mm, preferably 0.3 mm.
  • the mixture produced is then removed from the mixer and filled into transport containers for further processing in traffic area construction.
  • the product produced in this way is extremely free-flowing and does not undergo shredding (e.g. by grinding).
  • known preparation of an additive requires the mixture Use of hot bitumen as a binding agent not even at a low temperature to be cooled before it can be packaged as it is surprisingly remains free-flowing even when warm.
  • the amount of bitumen added is preferably set in the range of 3-5% by mass.
  • the mixing time can generally be in the range from 1.5 to 8 minutes, preferably 3 - 5 min. Should be minor under unfavorable conditions Parts of undesirably large secondary grains may have formed Need be screened. However, this usually does not happen.
  • the processing of the aggregate according to the invention ie its installation in bitumen-bound traffic areas, can be carried out in different ways. It is advisable to apply the aggregate in the amount desired, preferably 100 to 1000 g / m 2 , in particular 300 to 500 g / m 2 , to the top or bottom layer of the traffic area, the bitumen portion of which has not yet solidified, applied warm or cold, the individual grains of the aggregate should impinge on this uppermost layer at an increased speed in order to be able to penetrate into the open cavities of the uppermost layer with the greatest possible surface coverage, so that the cavities are largely preserved.
  • the additive which can be conveyed very well pneumatically, can thus be inflated, for example, onto the surface of the cover layer, so that the impact velocity of the active substance particles is greater than in a free fall if the additive were merely sprinkled on.
  • the traffic area is then rolled over, so that the aggregate is also stored to a certain depth in the surface layer.
  • the use of the material according to the invention is possible in principle in the construction of new traffic areas as well as in the surface treatment by applying protective layers, both in hot installation and in cold installation.
