Definitions

  • the invention relates to an adjustable pedal consisting of a pivotable about a pedal axis push rod lever with a hinged thereto push rod and a pedal lever, arranged at the lower end of a pedal plate and is guided in a rail on the push rod lever.
  • the document EP-A-0 256 466 shows the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • each of the pedals serves the operation of the brake and the clutch and as a control element for power control of the drive motor. They are housed in a defined position in the footwell of the passenger compartment. It has been proposed to adjust the pedals adjustable so that the driver can adjust their positions in relation to the seating position to his needs, without having to bring the seat too close to the steering wheel.
  • each of the pedals is made in two parts: It consists of a push rod lever, which is rotatably mounted about a pedal shaft and on which an actuating member is articulated, and a pedal lever with a pedal plate, which is arranged displaceably relative to the push rod lever. In a displacement of the pedal lever relative to the push rod lever, however, not only the position of the pedal plate in the passenger compartment changes but also their relative position to the pedal axis, which causes an undesirable change in the transmission ratio.
  • the invention has for its object to further improve this system.
  • it is to be achieved that the transmission ratio remains substantially constant during an adjustment.
  • the pedal should be as simple as possible and allow an electromotive adjustment.
  • the rail is curved to guide the pedal lever, wherein the center of the curvature is arranged so that when an adjustment, the pedal plate is offset substantially parallel to the push rod.
  • the desired curvature is achieved in that the bottom of the U-shaped tab is curved and the pedal lever has a curved extending, applied to this bottom outer edge.
  • This curvature ultimately determines the path of the pedal plate during an adjustment. It is therefore taking into account the other structural conditions, such as orientation to determine the push rod and the arrangement of the pedal in the passenger compartment.
  • the worm wheel of a worm gear is fixed to the pinion in a coaxial arrangement, wherein the worm of the worm gear is rotatably mounted on the outside of the tab.
  • a preferred embodiment of the tab consists of two mutually mirror-image plates.
  • the tab and the pedal lever are preferably made of metal. So that the pedal lever can be adjusted with little friction, sliding bodies are arranged between the pedal lever and the tab.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the pedal system according to the invention in a first embodiment
  • Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section along the line II - II of Fig. 1 and
  • Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the pedal system according to the invention in a second embodiment.
  • a push rod lever 2 On a rotatably mounted pedal shaft 1, a push rod lever 2 is fixed, at the lower end of a push rod 3 is supported, which serves for actuating a brake cylinder or clutch cylinder. Also attached to the pedal shaft 1 is a rail 4, which is applied approximately parallel to the push rod 3 and welded to it. Push rod lever 2 and 4 rail thus form a functional unit.
  • the rail 4 is formed from a bent tab with two cheeks 5,5 'and a curved bottom 6.
  • a pedal lever 10 consists of an upper guide part 7 and a downwardly adjoining holding part 8, at the lower end of a pedal plate 9 is fixed.
  • Guide part 7 and holding part 8 form in this embodiment in cross section a flat oval.
  • the cross section may also be rectangular, as shown in FIG.
  • the pedal lever is either solid or bent from a sheet metal accordingly.
  • the guide member 7 is executed curved over its length, as shown in FIG. 2, wherein the center of the curvature is approximately above the offset path 15 of the pedal plate 9, taking into account that the push rod 3 is substantially horizontal, so that the Offset path 15 is parallel to the push rod 3.
  • the rail 4 has a corresponding one for guiding the guide part 7 Curvature, in particular, the lower portion of the bottom 6 forms a support 11.
  • the rail is located approximately at the height of the pedal shaft 1, a counterpart 12 for receiving the force exerted on the pedal actuating forces.
  • FIG. 2 The sectional view of Fig. 2 shows two extreme positions of the pedal setting. Due to the chosen center of curvature for the guide part 7, an approximately horizontal displacement path 15 of the pedal plate 9 results between the extreme positions.
  • the adjustment can be done by an electric motor.
  • a pinion 13 is rotatably arranged on the rail 4 below the pedal shaft 1. This pinion 13 meshes with a toothing 14 of the guide member 7.
  • An electric motor for actuating the pinion 13, which need not be connected to the push rod lever 2, so need not be mitverschwenkt when pressing the pedal can be connected via a flexible shaft with the pinion 13 be. The electric motor is then firmly connected to the vehicle body. It would also be conceivable to connect the pinion 13 to a transmission which converts a lateral offset of an adjusting piston into a rotary movement of the pinion.
  • a rotation of the pinion 13 is converted into a corresponding displacement of the guide member 7 in the rail 4, whereby the position of the pedal plate 9 changes.
  • the entire unit pivots about the axis of the pedal shaft 1.
  • the pedal lever 10 is supported on the support 11 and the counterpart 12.
  • Fig. 3 shows an exploded view of another embodiment of the invention.
  • the rail 4 consists of two mutually mirror-image plates 20, 21, each with a curved edge. At each edge, a guide 22, 23 bent at right angles, the superimposed form the guide of the corresponding curved guide part 7 of the pedal lever 10.
  • a slider 24 made of Teflon is applied to the inner surface of the inner flange.
  • an abutment (corresponds to part 12, Fig. 2) is provided on the two upper sides of the plates 20, 21 each have a shoulder, wherein the approximately perpendicular to the upper edge extending portion of the paragraph is curved and with a flange 25 and 26 as Abutment is provided.
  • This can also be provided with a slider 27 made of Teflon.
  • an opening for the running as a bearing tube pedal shaft 1, about the axis of the whole arrangement is pivoted in a pedal operation.
  • This opening are two more openings for receiving a double gear.
  • the double gear is the already mentioned pinion 13 and a coaxially arranged worm wheel 29.
  • the pinion 13 is located between the two plates 20, 21, while the worm wheel 29 is located on the outside of a plate 21.
  • the screw 30 meshes with a screw 30 which is held by means of two bearing brackets 31 on the outside of the plate 21.
  • the worm 30 may be powered by an electric motor via a flexible cable.
  • the pinion 13 meshes in the toothing 14 on the inner edge of the guide member 7. A rotation of the pinion 13 thus causes a displacement of the pedal lever 10 in the channel formed by the guides. Because of the curvature of the guide and pedal lever, the pedal plate 9 also moves on a slightly curved path.
  • the geometry is adjusted so that the pedal plate 9 is offset approximately parallel to the push rod while maintaining an approximately constant distance to the vehicle floor.
  • the effective lever arm is kept substantially constant in this way, so that the gear ratio is not significantly changed by a pedal adjustment.
  • the push rod lever 2 On the plate 20, which is not provided with the screw, the push rod lever 2 is attached in the form of a mounting bracket on the outside, on which the push rod 3 is articulated via a fork.
  • An opening 32 serves to receive the fork pin.
