Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for mobile communication.
- a device for the electronic reading of characters is generally known and commercially available. There is also a so-called Hexaglot company
- a device for mobile communication (in particular a cell phone or a cell phone) is generally known. It is an endeavor to miniaturize the device to an increasing extent, always paying attention to favorable operability. With a keyboard, however, the device always has a certain minimum size.
- the object of the invention is to provide a device for mobile communication, which device allows a very small embodiment with high user acceptance.
- a device for mobile communication which comprises a transmitting and receiving unit for carrying out the mobile communication. Furthermore, the device has a sensor for reading characters and a processor unit for recognizing the read characters and for further processing of the recognized characters.
- the senor is a scanner or an OCR reading head. It is also a further development that the device is designed in the form of a pin.
- Control information is preferably shown on the display.
- the device for mobile communication can be designed as a device which is very small in comparison to commercially available mobile telephones and therefore does not impede a user due to its dimensions.
- a predetermined action for example the selection of the recognized telephone number, can be carried out with the recognized characters. This type of input is not a problem for the user, since it is intuitive and quick.
- a manufacturer of the device for mobile communication to deliver a form with characters, the characters being any number, including alphanumeric characters, with the device and to use these characters to program the device or adapt it to the user.
- Such commands are simply called up by the user running the sensor over the characters to be entered, the characters are read in, recognized by the processor unit and implemented a predetermined action.
- the meaning of the respective character stands for the characters m to be read in for the user in a form that is understandable.
- the character can of course also comprise several individual symbols or characters.
- a device for mobile communication is also a pen-shaped one 3 input device with a sensor for reading characters.
- the additional pen-shaped input device it is possible to extend the functionality of the intuitive and quick input option to a cell phone of known dimensions.
- buttons which is set up in such a way that the sensor, in particular the OCR reading head, is activated when it is actuated.
- the button can be operated manually by the user or automatically by pressing the sensor on a surface.
- the button can also be used to operate a switch, pressing the button turns it on and pressing the button turns it off.
- the switch can be implemented electronically by flip-flops.
- Fig.l a device for mobile communication in pen form
- FIG. 2 shows a device for mobile communication as a mobile phone /
- 3 shows a sketch showing the possibilities for data to be read in.
- Fig.l shows a device HDY for mobile communication, which is designed in pen form.
- the device HDY comprises a sensor SENS, which is designed as an OCR read head, and 4 is arranged at the tip of the pin shape.
- the device HDY also contains a display unit DISP, in particular a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a light-emitting diode unit (LED), which is designed along the shape of the pen.
- DISP liquid crystal display
- LED light-emitting diode unit
- Character strings or numbers are shown in order to give the user feedback about the characters read in by the sensor SENS.
- An antenna ANT is arranged on the side facing away from the sensor SENS and is coupled to a transmitting and receiving unit SEE. The connection between the ANT antenna and the SEE transmitter and receiver unit ensures that mobile communication is carried out.
- a button TAST is arranged on the side facing away from the sensor SENS.
- a processor unit RE within the pin-shaped device HDY ensures coordination of the individual components. Activating the TAST key ensures that the SENS sensor is activated for a specified period of time. Alternatively, the sensor SENS is activated for the period of pressing the TAST key. Furthermore, the device HDY has one
- Loudspeaker LS which is attached along the shape of the pen and with which the user receives acoustic feedback on an input detected by the sensor SENS and implemented by the processor unit RE. This is done in particular by a program provided on the processor unit RE “reading” the scanned input to the user.
- the loudspeaker LS and a microphone MIK are arranged along the device HDY, with the 'communication' (or telephony) service being carried out with both.
- FIG. 2 shows a device HDY for mobile communication, which is designed like a mobile phone and additionally comprises a sensor SENS (OCR reading head or scanner) which is arranged on the underside of the device HDY.
- the device HDY also contains a transmission and
- Receiver unit SEE which is connected to an antenna ANT.
- the ANT antenna is on the side facing away from the SENS sensor 5 arranged.
- a loudspeaker LS and a microphone MIK are also provided, with which the mobile communication is carried out.
- the loudspeaker LS is arranged on the top, the microphone MIK on the bottom of the device HDY.
- a display unit DISP preferably a
- Liquid crystal display (LCD) is present in the upper half of the HDY device, underneath there is a keypad TASTF for entering predetermined characters and / or character strings.
- a processor unit RE m of the device HDY enables different types of data to be carried out and the characters m read in by the sensor SENS to be machine-readable, in particular m ASCII code.
- the device HDY for mobile communication as shown in Fig. 1 or Fig. 2, comprises a sensor SENS which reads in different characters and by means of a
- Processor unit RE implements machine-readable form (ASCII code).
- ASCII code machine-readable form
- the characters in machine-readable form are implemented in a predetermined action.
- a block 301 shows several examples of data to be read in
- a character string can also be a sequence of almost any pattern (compare FIGS. 3, 306 to 309).
- the only requirement is that the respective predetermined character string m sufficient (recognizable) Qualltat can be read in by means of the sensor SENS, so that further processing m of the processor unit RE is possible.
- a handwritten character string is read in by the sensor SENS.
- the string 310 represents a handwritten one 6 represents the telephone number that is read and dialed by the HDY device.
- a name 311 is linked to the character string 310 and is read in with the HDY device. The telephone number on which the name is based is then dialed automatically if a telephone number 310 is associated with the recognized name 311 in a memory of the HDY device.
- Block 303 shows a business card which normally has a telephone number which is read in by means of the sensor and dialed directly by the device HDY.
