Abstract

Die Erfindung schlägt eine Verkehrsinsel (1) vor, die ein plattenförmiges Elementes (2), das auf eine Fahrbahn (34) auflegbar ist bzw. das über die Ebene der Fahrbahn ragt, und ein mit dem plattenförmigen Element verbindbares Erhöhungselement (22) aufweist, wobei das Erhöhungselement als separater Hohlkörper ausgebildet ist.
Eine derartige Verkehrsinsel wird vom fließenden Verkehr gut erkannt und trägt nachhaltig zur Verkehrsberuhigung bei. Sie kann baulich besonders einfach gestaltet sein. Eine Gefährdung von Verkehrsteilnehmern oder Beschädigung von Fahrzeugen beim Aufprall auf das Erhöhungselement ist aufgrund dessen Ausgestaltung als Hohlkörper weitgehend reduziert.
