Definitions
- the invention relates to a communication device, in particular a multimedia telephone booth.
- a method for gesture recognition is known from [1], a method for tracking the head movement from [2]. Furthermore, a method and an arrangement for contactless input (gesture computer, virtual touch screen) are known from [3].
- a service is a means of communication that is preferably, but not necessarily, perceived via a network.
- a network also: communication network
- At least one service is preferably performed via a communication device.
- Multimedia denotes the optional perception of several services, whereby these services transmit information in different ways (e.g. voice, text, image, etc.).
- the invention has for its object to provide a multimedia telephone booth that avoids the disadvantages described above and offers additional services.
- a communication device in particular a multimedia telephone booth, has a camera that records an interaction component of a user. Furthermore, the communication device has a display area for projecting an operating unit.
- Communication device further comprises a projector which is controlled by a computer, projects the operating unit onto the display area and implements a movement of the interaction component recorded with the camera in order to perform a service.
- the communication device comprises a sound input unit and a sound output unit.
- the microphone is preferably used for contactless speech input (hands-free speaking).
- a second camera is provided and configured in such a way that it takes a portrait of the user. This is particularly advantageous for the 'videotelephony' service.
- the head or face of the user can be recorded with the second camera and transmitted to another subscriber.
- the projected control unit comprises a keyboard. With the keyboard, flexible entries can be made quickly and easily.
- the projected control unit provides the user with input options that are matched to the respective service. This can be done, for example, by appropriately dividing the display area into different logically separable blocks.
- one logical block can include the keyboard, another logical block, for example, an image of the other party during video telephony and a third logical block a selection of special ones tailored to the 'video telephony' service
- Display input fields for example for conference calls, brokering or other quality of service features.
- An identification card denotes an identification medium in the form of a card, e.g. Chip card, for the user. With the help of the identification card, the identity of the user is determined (if possible) without any doubt. This is e.g. important for the 'EMail' service, since it must be ensured that the electronic message is authentic. It can also be different
- Security mechanisms well known to those skilled in the art can be used alone (e.g. additional password request) or in combination with the card (e.g. fingerprint on the card).
- a credit can be connected to the identification card, which is reduced when the services are used.
- an automated method can be used, in which on an identification card, which the user must inform the communication device before making a call, various information tailored to the user, e.g. Telephone numbers that are saved.
- Telephone numbers One of these stored telephone numbers can be called up using a speed dial key.
- a clear representation of the stored telephone numbers as a personal telephone book is also possible in the display area.
- Image information is transmitted. This can advantageously be an image of the people involved in video telephony. It is possible that e.g. Using a conference call, more than two people can participate in a (video) call. Especially in the case of
- Video telephony can be shown in the display area, an overview that shows all people involved in video telephony. It should be noted here that different quality of service (QoS) characteristics can be perceived. Examples of quality of service features are brokering, conference calling, call waiting and parking.
- QoS quality of service
- Fax The user can also send a fax to a specified addressee (or to several addressees). For this, preferably with the camera, which is also the Interaction component (s) records, digitized the paper whose content is to be faxed. The data obtained in this way can be faxed directly to an addressee. It is also possible to record the paper whose content is to be faxed using a special camera. This can ensure a higher transmission quality.
- a keyboard is preferably projected onto the display area, which the user can use to create his email.
- the services described here can also be perceived in parallel by dividing the display area into different logical blocks, preferably assigned to the services.
- Radio service In the same way that the user writes an email, he can also send short messages (e.g. short message service SMS, Scall, Quix) via specified radio services. In this case, there is no notification of an operator set up at the radio services, who, with correspondingly high remuneration, dictates the desired messages to be transmitted.
- short messages e.g. short message service SMS, Scall, Quix
- identification card special service providers can be called, one There may be a community of interests between the issuer of the identification card and the online service to be called.
- the 'Internet' service can be perceived by means of the communication device. Navigation in the Internet is possible using different control units projected onto the display area. Again, the billing of the service
- the illustrated relationship between the provider and the user is not limited to the Internet, but can also be applied to other services.
- This database can be executed locally in the telephone booth or via a
- the database enables a convenient search in the electronic telephone books. It is advantageous that this search on a much larger amount of data leads to a result in a much shorter time. Furthermore, the electronic phone book can have many more entries than paper books that fit into a multimedia phone booth. For example, in everyone
- an up-to-date electronic telephone book can be provided at least from all of Germany.
- the interaction component can be a hand, a finger or the head of the user.
- the display area is designed with reflective material.
- a scene projected onto the display area via the projector can be recognized by the user in good quality.
- the interaction component is provided with an identification visible to the camera. Furthermore, it is a development of the invention that the interaction component is recognized by illuminating it with infrared light in a wave range visible to the camera. This is particularly advantageous in adverse lighting conditions, for example in sunlight or at night.
- the communication device is publicly accessible.
- the communication device can replace the conventional telephone booth known today.
- a communication device for performing the video telephony service. 1 shows a communication device KE, in particular a multimedia telephone booth.
- An optical module for in-ceiling installation has a projector PROJ, a camera KAM and lighting BEL, which preferably contains several sources.
- the camera KAM takes one
- Interaction component INTK of the user BEN An operating unit BE is projected onto a display area DB using the projector PROJ.
- a computer RE controls the corresponding output on the display area DB using the projector PROJ in accordance with the input made to the display area DB using the interaction component INTK, the computer RE using the camera KAM to implement the movement of the recorded interaction component INTK to perform a predefinable service.
- Sound input unit MIK and a sound output unit LAUT arranged.
- a telephone receiver or a microphone which is designed for hands-free calling can be provided as the sound input units.
- FIG. 2 shows the display area DB which is operated via the interaction component INTK and which has different operating units BE.
- the control units BE are projected onto the display area using the PROJ projector.
- the camera KAM records the interaction component INTK, transmits the corresponding recordings to the computer RE, which evaluates the position of the interaction component INTK over the display area DB in such a way that a predetermined operating unit BE is triggered if the interaction component INTK for a predefinable one
- Time period remains above the BE control unit.
- a keypad modeled on the telephone is projected as part of the control unit BE in FIG. Additional functions such as telephone book, flight information, train information or Internet services can be called up using additional buttons on the right side of the BE control unit.
- a completely different control unit can be used on the DB display area BE projected.
- FIG. 3 shows a similar projection to the display area DB as FIG. 2.
- a field is provided on which a document to be faxed can be placed. After entering a control unit BE specially provided for sending the fax, the field FAX is digitized via the camera KAM and sent to an addressee.
- FIG. 4 shows the communication device KE, comparable to FIG. 1, an additional camera KAM2 being provided for recording the face of the user BEN.
- the video telephony service can be performed.
- the display area being able to be used to perform other services, such as, for example, 'document sharing', ie the processing of an electronic document by several users.
